Thank you so much for this video. I was born in 1961. Been a collector of all mid century for years😊 Born in London and was surrounded by these wonderful things. Much love and peace from London UK ❤
I really loved this explanation of the Midcentury Modern Era. I've frequently heard advice on how to design based on the popular elements of the time, but this was the first video that has really deep-dived into WHY the style was popular, and I appreciated your insight on how to utilize that knowledge for modern trends. Thank you so much for your insight! I will definitely check out the other videos on your channel :)
Thank you! I think context is the key to understanding any art style. Art always reflects the time in which it was created. I think you will also enjoy my videos Understanding Abstraction and Understanding Surrealism - others as well, of course. I really appreciate hearing from you.
Well done, Susan! Nancy and I enjoyed the 10-minute video on Mid-Century Art and Design - well-produced, narrated and extremely informative. It was fascinating to see the décor styles from the 1920s and how they have remained popular in today’s homes. The mid-century art and design incorporates those sleek lines, organic shapes, and a mix of materials, creating a timeless aesthetic that continues to resonate with people today!
Thank you so much!!! If you go to my channel, you will find lots of other videos you will like, including Understanding Abstraction and Cubism. I try to make one new video every month.
Thank you! I love it, too. My living room has now been done in this style, complete with Eames chair.

Thank you so much. I really like this style, and after I made the video I redesigned my living room in Mid-century style, complete with Eames chair which I had stashed upstairs, unused, in my office. Everything old is new again!
Art Deco was concurrent with the earlier styles of Mid-century Modern such as those from the 1920s Bauhaus. However, the style is different, although in many instances compatible with Mid-Century Modern. I appreciate hearing from you. I will be doing a program on Art Deco one of these days! Thank you for your interest.
Thank you! I see you have watched several of my videos. I really appreciate your interest and support. I work very hard on these programs. Always good to hear that people like them. Thanks for contacting me.
