To enhance your experience, travel to New Zealand and walk among many of these places, while listening to the music. I have done so, spending a month seeing every place they filmed. I walked through the sunlit forests where the orcs killed Boromir, I stood on the shores of the River Anduin and looked up where the huge statues of Isildur and Anarion would have been in the film, and I stood at the very spot where the House of Elrond was built for the movie, and then removed. I even took a jeep ride up to the snowy peaks of Caradhras, which was scary as the road was icy and no railing. It was all magical.

My brother is handicapped and won’t go to sleep until I play this for him! He has cerebral palsy and severe scoliosis and it’s very difficult for him to relax! Imagine being an Elf. Able to live forever in perfect health. Never have to worry about the death of yourself or your Elven loved ones. Having such an intimate connection to nature and all life. Able to master magic. Living forever in such tranquillity and perfection.
Then imagine Morgoth, the second most powerful being in the universe, setting his mind upon you, to tear, rend, and otherwise destroy you, your family, and your way of life. Such was the way of things in the First Age.
I remember that when the series was first coming out, I was legit fearful that I would die before I got to see all three. The same anxiety happened with The Hobbit movies. Silly, but nevertheless true! And now I've seen the extended versions of all of them numerous times. :)
i am 25 year old male. i have lived a hard life compared to people my age. i have been stabbed shot multiple times. got into to many knife fights and bar fights been in prison. i was always in the streets stealing robbing and stupid stuff like that. but i always liked to read since i was a young boy and when i first came across this world i was glued something magical happened. when i use to tell my friend about this world they would laugh however when o got home there was only one thing in my mind to continue reading this masterpiece the only book that made me calmer happier. maybe because my life was so horrible only place i could escape was this huge world that Tolkien created for people who want to escape reality to forget troubles of this world. i haven't believed in god for a long time but if there os a heaven somewhere maybe this is it maybe we will get to be where we always wanted to go but will never go. i cant wait for my daughter to grow up so that i can spend hours and hours explaining the lore the characters. how Feanor crafted the silmarils and how glorfindel defeated a balrog. but most of all i wish that when i die be it 10 - 100 or 2 days from now i wish to travel to this world and see mr bilbos trolls watch the sunrise and truly know that i am at home. some people might say i am crazy but i would gladly give half of my life to spend a week in middle earth.

I swear there was some sort of divine intervention when they were making these movies, the soundtrack is way more profoundly beautiful than it has any right to be.
I'VE THOUGHT THIS TOO!! Every aspect of the movies has seemed inexplicably "beyond" to me. The vision and extraordinary talent of all the people involved... it just seems all impossible. As if everyone was able to somehow transcend the limitations of being just human in whatever role they had, and all of that makes watching them feel also transcendent. It's almost unbearable that none of it is real. The ability to bring imagination to life is literally AMAZING, eh?

I walked down the isle to Arwen and Aragorn's theme. It made the moment even more magical. We both had Tolkien quotes in our vows, from the books and movies. He is my light in dark places, when all other lights go out, and I'd rather spend one lifetime with him than wander all the ages of this world alone. It's been two months since we got married and are separated for six weeks due to his work and my health. I miss my buddy. We plan to watch the recorded vows once every three months and the whole ceremony every anniversary to remind ourselves of our promises and what we're working toward, and where we're coming from. May we find a Rivendell of our own and have as blessed a union as Aragorn and Arwen. ❤️

I love Enya, her song 'only time' is one of the most beautiful songs she sang. I swore i heard that song when I was younger but couldn't rember, I was so young. But her songs they stick with me through the shadow days when I thought things weren't gonna turn but they did in the end.

After the horrific explosion in my home town city I am having terrible panic attacks with sheds of tears but then tonight I found this piece of heaven it took me back to my teenage years when I first read the books of JRRT and to the pure magic of the movies it gave me peace and solace in these datk times thank you I wish the world was Like Rivendell !!

perhaps it does exist - that nirvana, utopia, that heaven. A place where we come from and go to after the suffering of human incarnation. That peace we long for is there - beauty within the light - that which we long to return to during dark times such as these.
I live in a small hamlet in the himalayas !! Whenever the mist rolls up from the valley below and I am on a walk on the mountain tops it is just plain magical and this music makes me feel that I am right into Middle Earth. You know the scene when they light the torches to signal Rohan !! Just the same (lil less on the snow). Reminds me of Home when I am somewhere else. Its magical
I am sitting at home now smoking a pipe and reading the LOTR, which I do every year for the last 25 years. I found this video just as Frodo and company arrived in Rivendell. Its playing in the background now while I am reading the Council of Elrond :) Its wonderfully atmospheric and adds greatly to my enjoyment of the whole experience. So glad I'm not the only one! I read all the books every year for 9 years at one point, and have reread them other times, but not yearly anymore. I Love it all, everything about the story is a treasure. My first boyfriend turned me on to The Hobbit when I was 15, that's pretty much a life-long Love affair with this story and all its characters. They have become like old friends. Finding this music would certainly add to the pleasure of the experience. Will have to pull out my very worn copies, or finally crack open my red leather-bound Red Book of West March. I can't quite tell yet, though, if the music is on a loop. It's all so beautiful and soothing it's hard to tell if it's the same music over and over, which is a good thing in this case. Thank you for putting these up, Ambient Worlds. We need more of this in the world right now.
It's so much more heartbreaking in the books because Sam was so young compared to Frodo and he really just wanted to see the Elves at first. And when he knew that Frodo couldn't return to the Shire anymore, he still came with him. Samwise the Loyal, Samwise the Brave.
LOTR, Skyrim, D&D, war hammer all the fantasy stories hold a place in my heart and in my mind. And just wished we lived in a world like that and hear beautiful music and crazy adventures.

If there is a heaven after death, this is what I want it to be, high mountains, a valley round' a flowing waterfall, surrounded by a forest, and of course, a city built right there in the cliffside, this is where I'd want to spend eternity, listening to the birds, the water, the wind, and of course the sweet melody that echo's along the cliffsides, case and point, Rivendell is my personal heaven.

From what I understand, the Tolkien family did not much like the LOTR films and absolutely detested the Hobbit films. But you have to remember, these are books from 90 -70 years ago. The family are old and felt very strongly about tradition.

They are very Hollywood unlike Tolkien ethereal and kind of reserved style where you'd never see Frodo jumping on Gandalf to hug him.... Also NZ is amazing but I think Tolkien kind of had a more european geography in mind for Middle Earth. Filming those very impressive grand scale landscape in NZ is also very Hollywood. I thought more of the Highlands in Scotland, or the Alps, or even the Lake District in the Uk. Iceland for the Volcanos... All in all a Northern Europe aesthetics... Here is my little review lol almost a novel😂

When I close my eyes this takes me straight to Rivendell. I can see myself standing at a balcony wearing the finest elf-style soft clothes just watching the landscape. Birds flying, hearing the whisper of the river running down while some she-elfs play music and sing a happy yet soft melody. Not having to worry about anything. Just breathing, feeling the air getting in and out of my nose. Then I go down and I spot Aragorn walking and having a chat with Arwen.
i'll bring a beautiful designed crystal pitcher of some icy cold, sparkling, pure, elven spring water. maybe a large side glass of priceless entdraught.
My dream is to buy a house in the mountains, start a BnB .. change it's design to look like a house of TLOTR, and the only way to get toy place would be by horse or walking... And I would play this kind of music in the background of the whole property and the woods ... People would be dressed like in the movie and everything would be amazing because it would feel like living in a fantastic fantasy ❤️

@@nerthus4685 The eagles aren't Gandalf's pets, nor does he have the right to order them around to do the world's bidding. They serve only the Valar Manwe who as we all know along with the rest of the Valar really try to stay out of the affairs that happen in Middle Earth, anytime the gods interfere they create cataclysmic events that are often irreparable and create more problems. They also do not like to be in the presence of pure evil, they would not dare fly to Mordor while Sauron is at his full power. He would surely detect them and send the nazgul after them and launch some kind of attack from the ground or otherwise.
Two weeks ago I gave birth to my second son listening to this music. Beautiful. Coming to this world with this music. I'm a huge LOTR fan. Having such a memory connected to this piece of soundtrack is and will always be amazing.
Got my books qued up for the coming winter. Lord of the Rings is one of them. My Dad got me a copy of all three novels plus the Appendixes back when I was 16 and the movies came out. Gave me about a year to read them, I finished them in six months the first time. Dad passed on a few years ago, and this is the first time since then that I've felt like I really wanted to read them again. I used to read the books and watch the movies at least once a year. Listening to this music makes me realize how much I've missed this unique world and the depth of it's characters.

I remember being 12, finishing the final movie for the first time and crying my eyes out that Middle Earth, Rivendell and Valinor are not real. The homesickness for this place is unbelievable. Amazing job!

I am listening to this while watching the pink moon, surrounded by candles, and a curious raccoon and squirrel watch from a distance. The sound of the night breezes rustling the leaves blends in with the singing of elves rising up towards the sky, and I can hear my mom laughing in the kitchen from far away. The grass is cold and wet, but the moonlight is like a blanket. I have never felt so at peace.

I think the reason that we all feel nostalgic and miss such a place like this, maybe we'd all been there once and we just don't remember. I don't know maybe we were there before we were born on this earth, maybe this place exists in other galaxies or universes so that we'll be there after we die. who knows. it doesn't have to be a paradise but we all humans are looking for a place or alternate life that we seek eternal peace, beauty, love, and happiness.. I don't know why but I'm crying right now:) because even thinking such a place like this exists somewhere, somehow makes me feel so happy.
Man, I feel like this every day. It's just like I don't belong here on planet Earth. Through dream and astral projection, I was able to return for a moment to where I actually belong. The feeling is amazing I have to admit, you just don’t feel this weight you carry with you right now in a human body. Everything you said is true and I am sure of it. All those who feel this way are probably much older souls and they came to the planet here with the goal of raising people’s consciousness. Big changes are coming to the world starting on December 21st. Stay positive someone from above is looking at us. 🙏🙏🙏

This Rivendell video has helped me through near panic attack moments I've been having for the past 2 weeks. The only fictional place that I truly wished was real was Rivendell. When I was very young, back when I watched both the modern and animated versions of LotR, I hoped that this place was real so I could retire peacefully when I reached a time of age when I couldn't continue my dreams anymore. The scenery, music and ambiance of Rivendell always felt like home.
It wasn't just music in the film the music has a soul 🙏 and the voices are like Angels 🙏 it touches you inside and gives you that spiritual feeling that we all need to feel ❤️

This music was a masterpiece, but I couldn't listen to the whole soundtrack of LOTR because there was too much dark Sauron-esque music that put me in a darker mood. Now thanks to you I can listen to the songs that took me to a heavenly place of love and light where everyone treats life as sacred and protects each other from evil.
@Dark Fire I know how you feel and have been in that situation. I can tell you're a good person because you are just searching for love rather than looking for reasons to hate. The way I've always coped with this existential loneliness is to focus on how beautiful love is for its own sake and try to help people when I can. To get a little psychological I think people like us have "attachment issues" because our parents didn't show us enough unconditional acceptance so we are constantly seeking approval and acceptance from others, and that sours our relationships with them. Because no one wants to hang out with someone who is constantly asking for validation. When you are able to fix this - by building up your own skills or hobbies, things that make you feel good about yourself and your accomplishments without needing others approval to feel good about who you are - then magically people start to like you because you already like yourself and how you are spending your time. But going back tot he experience of loneliness, I still totally get how you feel because deep down you think wow why can't someone just be kind and loving toward me the way I am toward most people. It's also cultural. Some cultures like American culture can be cold as fuck whereas other cultures like Australian, European or some parts of SE Asia (Malaysia, Thailand) people are more friendly and warm. You are good because you seek goodness. Find ways to express the beauty you seek, through music, poetry, art, random acts of kindness, or just write down your most beautiful thoughts. Because in that sense, the love you seek already exists within you otherwise you wouldn't know to seek it.
@@craigjones21 I don’t know if this person has read the comment, but I certainly have, and it’s lovely. Personally, life doesn’t have a meaning for me. It is us who give it one, and I see so much beauty and freedom in that, because we own it, and no one else. That’s why to keep on living and not surviving in our daily life, we need to keep in mind what we want and strive for it. :)

I've got three things in common with Tolkien.PTSD,a love of writing,and an addiction to commas,lol. I fell in love with his work a long,long time ago. it soothed me through some of the hardest times of my life. Tolkien's insights on death have helped me have hope after losing my grandmother,father,and brother in a way that strictly reading Scripture could not. Tolkien's faith bleeds through his characters in a way that is lost to modern writers like Tyler Perry, who uses religion like a cudgel, beating people over the head with it. Tolkein's use of faith in his writing is so subtle that ,if one were not brought up in the faith, it could easily be missed and yet,were that faith extracted from the story,there would be no characters left with which to tell the tale.That,my friends, is true mastery of your art.

This is some of the most sublime music on earth! It's so empathic, deep-reaching, and full of Light/LVX! The natural sounds with it just make this so therapeutic and restorative to keep listening to.
if there is ''something'' after death and life goes on, I want to go to Rivendell as an Elf and live there for thousends of years, that would be my paradise...I left my heart in Middle-earth...

Years later and I still find comfort and peace in this music. Something about the voice of a elven female, so powerful yet so soothing. Magical, angelic, mystical.. I can't describe the feeling, it just is ❤✌😊
