The word Palestine derives from ancient Greek (Philistia), but ancient Egyptian, Assyrian and Hebrew languages also included similar-sounding words to describe the region or its people. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all strongly tied to the region, and trace origins to the land over the past few thousand years. The Hebrew Bible contains narratives of ancient Israelites' presence in the land, including the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, established by King David and his descendants around 1000 B.C. Those kingdoms' rivals included other Canaanite groups like the Philistines, whose territory encompassed the ancient city of Gaza. The region was later conquered by numerous empires, including the Babylonians, Persians and Romans. It first came under Muslim control when Jerusalem fell to the Rashidun Caliphate in 637, less than five years after the Prophet Muhammed's death. During the Crusades, Christian armies from Western Europe fought both Muslims and local Christian factions for control of their religions' holy sites. Between 1517 and 1917, the Ottoman Empire-whose official religion was Islam-ruled the region. When World War I ended in 1918, the British took control of Palestine. The League of Nations issued a British mandate for Palestine-a document that gave Britain administrative control over the region, and included provisions for establishing a Jewish national homeland in Palestine-which went into effect in 1923.
The term "Middle East" may have originated in the 1850s in the British India Office. Nonetheless, it became more widely known when American naval strategist Alfred Thayer Mahan used the term in 1902 to "designate the area between Arabia and India".

👉🏻👉 Iran and Turkey should not be considered Middle Eastern countries. These two nations do not speak Arabic, and their people are ethnically distinct from Arabs. Iran, in particular, has its own unique culture and language, which are quite distant from Arabic, and there is no significant connection to the Arab world.
The Middle East includes mostly Arab countries, but it also includes two non-Arab countries - Iran and Turkey. Iran is not an Arab country. Sometimes, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenian are included, but they are not usually included and more viewed as Eurasian. Middle Eastern does not mean Arab.

Their mental image, even to this day, is that the people they call the Middle East have a common culture, religion, language (or at least a language from same language family) and a common history and ethnic. They have also thought about political division. This term is really wrong. The term Middle East cannot function like the Scandinavian region in Northern Europe, or the Indian subcontinent, or Latin America. Part of Turkish people have Caucasian and European moral similarities, Iranian people are more similar to Central Asian and Caucasian people morally.
The Middle East term came into widespread usage as a replacement of the term Near East beginning in the early 20th century. The term "Middle East" has led to some confusion over its changing definitions, and being seen as too Eurocentric.
Even if Cyprus sees itself as being an intrinsically European state, and is now a member of the European Union, it is nevertheless bound to the Middle East by virtue of history and geography. For thousands of years it has been inextricably tied to key developments taking place in the Near and Middle East
The founder of Israel was the British according to history. Instead of Israel, there is a Palestinian country, i.e. State of Palestine and the language is Arabic.
