Great fishing Jay, you coped admirably with the double hook up. What a session for you, amazing! I’ve had three barbel sessions so far on the Warks Avon but have been struggling big time. First fish was a 12 lbs river common carp and since then nothing but bream and chub. Not sure what has happened to the barbel though? I’m going to the River Wye next week for three days so hope to break my duck down there. Great video!
Cheers mate, it was rather crazy! They do go like that sometimes and when it does you just cant beat it! I used to fish the avon a lot around evesham (anchor meadows) I had a lot of big fish from there but sadly I think they may be gone now😥 I hope you find them soon and tight lines on the wye!
After those crazy high flood waters at the start of the season i thought the barbel fishing maybe tricky for a few weeks, its totally the opposite. how much ounce did you need Jay to hold ?
I love it when it's in flood and was out opening night when it was about to burst its banks! It's been such a productive start to the season. I only needed 4oz max where I was fishing.
Haha quality double hook up 🤣👍🏻 know how you feel Happens to me all the time, it’s ace but hard work 🤣🤣👍🏻🎣💪🏻 and I usually do the take my hooklink off jobby and recast but only have ended up with three in the net so you’ve trumped me! Well in mate haha

@@anthand85 Hi mate Im at Port Isaac and near Liskeard been down here for 30yrs sadly there ain't no places down here for barbel-only rivers are for trout and salmon that's why we make the journey up country. We have got some cracking lakes tho. Where you staying too down here will tell you some lakes near by ;)

Jay im sure i seen Rob down Knowle Sands last week, on the Danery side ? Is your private stretch near that area mate as you say Bridgnorth. Did look like him, or his twin lol

Great video. I've always wanted to fish for barbel with 2 rods but never have. I was always worried about having a double hook up. Think you handled it very well though. Was funny 😀
That's fine for you to have that opinion and this is literally the first time it has happened to me in 30 years of fishing. Also as you can see in the video I unhooked the second two in the water and released them in the water. There would have been more risk to the fish if I caught them individually and took them onto the bank. Also 99% of people who fish for barbel use two rods.
