I'm on a day trip to Indiana. We are visiting Middlebury. Home of the Das Dutchman Essenhaus and the Krider World's Fair Garden. We will start this beautiful fall morning with some photography in the garden and then finish up with lunch and the Essenhaus.

I grew up in Middlebury and one year, I think in 1997, as part of a job through the school I helped clean and weed Krider Garden. It was the summer between middle school and high school for me. It was more than cleaning the garden but this was my first job and how I saved up for my N64 that I still have. Thanks for the great video.

Beautiful scenery and part of the heritage trail of Elkhart county. I’ve never stopped in at the garden but will definitely add it to my list now.

It was a great place for me to relax at lunch many years ago when I worked at Middlebury Community Schools.

You are not going to believe this. I was the Technology Coordinator for Middlebury Community Schools from 98 - 01. Talk about a small world!

Thank you. I appreciate that. I rarely make it back home to Indiana these days. Staying off of planes for a while. Can't beat the beef and noodles at the Essenhaus. It was torture to have my office window open when the window was blowing just right.
