I Just got it... Like all the comments here I couldn't find any contact email (I expected to have one for a paid product, even if its 5$).. I also didn't realize that the product is discontinue, and the last update was 2.5years ago (i don't know if ill but it if I new). Its a cool little plugin (I'm using Cubase 11) - its very much missing a note decay feature , 32 step clock (why not go until 128note) and bug fix.. sometimes its just stop to work and I need to change the setting from single note to sustain to make it trigger my synths again. With some love and care this plugin can preform like Rhythmizer by futurephonics (Ableton only) , and be a great success :)
Hey there! couldn't find a contact email on your site so I'll drop this here. I just DL the VST version of MidiBot and I gotta say, thank you very much for doing this!!! For a few years now I've been kobbling together a bunch of Reaper JS's and PizMidi plugins to try to do pretty much exactly what you created in this one plugin! My stuff was cumbersome, clunky and a pain in the ass to use. This has pretty much everything I was aiming for! ideas/suggestions: 1) As it looks like you did this in Juice, I REALLY REALLY recommend you port it to iOS. The iPad music crowd (i.e. Audiobus forum) would go ape-shit for this thing! Because musical input on the ipad, especially when you've dealing with multiple apps, is a pain, so folks are always looking for generative solutions, and honestly most of them suck. Too random, too hard to set up, etc. etc. This is actually really musically useful instead of the "cat walking on a piano" type generative stuff out there. 2) It would be nice if there was a way to control the rhythm of the fills... Maybe a sub-sequencer that basically mirrors the top section that's just for the fills? 3) The ability to specify the "gate" length, or sustain length could be useful 4) It appears (at least in Reaper) that if you have "enable input" turned on that notes that are sent in to do the transposition are being passed through. It woudl be nice to have an option to disable this "thru" behavior. If I send in notes to transpose, they often trigger sounds that don't fit with the rhythmic pattern of set in MidiBot. at least that's what seems to be happening... Also, a possible bug... Again, in Reaper, if I run more than one instance, it totally hammers Reaper (Win10/64 bit)... May be some kind of memory or processes thread issue in your code... I really hope you expand on this!
Glad you're digging it. I'm afraid I've been swamped with real work lately, so I haven't had much time to tinker with new features or bug fixes of late. If ever I get the time, I may take you up on your suggestion and port it to iOS. Good idea. In the meantime, have fun with it.
I'm not a Cubase guy, but people tell me you have to make an audio track and insert it as a vst plugin. After you do that you have the midi output available. Then you can make a VST Instrument track and routed the midi out from the bot to the synth. (Or so I've heard.) Sorry it's not out of the box easy for Cubase. Good luck.
Should I create a melody then throw this on top of it, or can Notes be played through the plugin. I hope that made sense haha. I'm really liking the concept of this thing, will definitely give it a try.
Hello Robby. I cant find any contact info on your site, so I try here. I just bought Midibot. It will not show up in Logic, Plug In Manager detects it, but tells me it cant be open.Component is at at the right place with my other midi fx components. What can I do?. You dont write anything about version of Logic to use, Im at Logic Pro x 12.2.2, hope thats not the problem?
I'm currently using Logic Pro X 10.4.1. On Mac The VST binary should go in $(HOME)/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ The AU (component) binary should go in $(HOME)/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ On PC The dll should go in C:/Program Files/VstPlugins
Thanks for taking time to answer me here.Above I wrote (12.2.2,) it was a mistake, I am at 10.2.2. I think thats the problem., my computer is old and cant update to High Sierra..If you have the Midibot as script I can load it from inside Scripter. Component is at the right place, along with all my other components. Logic dont take VST, only AU. Midibot looks like such a powerful tool, and so cheep.. Would love for it to work in 10.2.2. I have other midi effects I bought as script only, like text.. They all work, but recent update brings midi effects "alive" in the channel strip.
If you select your "Home" icon in a finder window, and then select "Go To Folder..." from the Go menu you'll get a pop up window; type "Library" and hit enter or click the "Go" button. That will take you to the Library folder which is normally invisible. From there select the Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ and drop midibot.component in there and then you may have to relaunch Logic.
Well, its at the place, Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/. Its been there all along as I said, Its not working in Logic 10.2.2. I have other midi plugins, liker Scaler and Chatulu, they all show up under Midi Effects in the channel strip. I also have some midi effects I load from within Scripter. Midibot is in none of these locations.
