I bought this MIDIPLUS miniEngine Pro portable sound module (Feb. 25, 2021-thu.) to address my need for portability.
In this demonstration, I hooked up not just only one but two MIDI keyboards because this device is capable of being "controlled" by two controllers.

Great video. Do you think it can be used simultaneously with many Midi channels (each with its own voice/sound) using the same Midi In port? I own a Beatstep Pro where I can control 2 melodic sequences and 1 drum sequence on different MIDI channels. Using both could be great for building up a dawless setup

Thank you very much for the informative video! I have an important question about connecting the second keyboard: how do I select the sound for channel 2? Using the rotary dial you can only get to channel 1? That would be very important to me! Thank you very much and kind regards 😊

Oh, i forgot to include that on my video. I'm sorry. I actually forgot how I did that. But as far as i can recall, i set the sound to the channel 1 first, while the 2nd midi controller is still not connected. As soon as you set the channel and upon connecting the 2nd controller, any sound you wll choose from midiplus will be assigned to the 2nd one

Good video. So far your the only one to show this box being used with 2 midi keyboards at same time. Wish they had an extra USB port for 2 USB midi keyboards. A USB adapter dongle would be good also.

Would a dual USB splitter Y cable (1 USB male to 2 USB female) work for dual keyboards?

@@321hellooooo glad that my video have been so informative to you. To answer your question, i'm not familiar with the usb splitter. But if said connections would be made, and we're using just the usb port to connect two controllers, dont you think it might confuse the device and may not function normal as it should? But of course, im still not sure if that would be the case. I just think that if it's not indicated in the user manual, then it's not capable of doing that. Thanks for checking out this content.🙂

Unfortunately, no. It's just general midi. One sound in every patch only

There's some lead instruments like polysynth and sawtooth. I'm not sure if it matches van halen synth sounds but more or less, it sounds close enough. After all, it's just general midi.

Eu usei um laptop antigo com uma entrada de microfone como meio de gravação. gravei o áudio e depois sincronizei com a pós-edição deste vídeo.

É normal um chiado bem sutil ao pressionar uma tecla? Antes do som do piano por exemplo é precedido de um chiado sutil e eu usando o fone de ouvido.

@@daralmazan realmente não tem. Somente no som de piano tocando o mais leve possivel o som que eu ouvi é como se fosse o triscar do martelo em um piano real. Não é nenhuma problema.

For this particular video, i recorded the audio separately while playing live. I then synced the audio to the video upon editing. I hooked the midiplus to an old netbook with a microphone input, the software i used for recording is nero wave editor 11.
