#AzsharaDidNothingWrong! Thanks for tuning in! See the Cosmos United Cosmology Chart linked in the description! Been cooking this one for some time, and I hope you enjoy! ~ 🤘
There is no denying the fact that Azshara was more powerful than Aegwynn. She truly is one of the most powerful non-god characters ever to walk on Azeroth. She would make a huge difference for the defence of Azeroth.
Well non-god no more because if Loa are considered some sort of gods, she has become WAY more powerful and was already considered a demi-god by her naga, now she has ascended, so she's a god !
Something in my bones has always made me love Azshara and imagine her returning as an ally of Azeroth. In the stories I create for myself on my day dreams, she's a returning character again and again, and even though she starts as an antagonist often, I can't help but eventually turn it around. There was a lot I didn't know that I learnt from this video, and it amazes me there's so much dept and reasons she CAN really be an ally. I don't want to get my hopes up but damn, I need this to be what happens in Midnight!
Quite an interesting theory about Azshara's return not as a villan, but a hero. There are some connections with it that are sort of plausible ,that could go well, the one that kind of hit me was the sort of resemblance with Illidan. He did start of we thought he could be bad, but at end he was trying to prepare against the Legion. As for Azshara, to defeat but to prepare for the war of the Void in some sort (after we freed her from Ny'alotha). We still do not know how it will end up, hoping next year (2025) we will get info regarding the story Midnight.
@@_xaxxas An awesome video mate! Before i watched this video i had another thought in mind about the Child of Shadow and Light and the prophecy. In the Alleria short novel they released where she went to Silvermoon to visit her son he showed her he has two tattoos of dragons on each hand one being Shadow and the other being Light. I know Arator isnt a character they have explored alot but with Turalyon being his father and Alleria his mother i thought they might spin the title on him but if what you expanded on happens it might be even better!
I think Arator is cool, but not quite as Marketable as Azshara! The tattoo thing is a bit heavy-handed, and made me consider him more of a red-herring- but I could see it going either way!
@@_xaxxas Yeah Azshara has way more history and weight, Arators character is hardly explored through the whole story.People will mald if they make him a centre piece out of the blue and it wouldnt make sense beside his parents wielding both sides. Azshara indeed has bigger potential and history to succeed like Illidan did.Althou if they inserted little of the "Illidan" book lore ingame people would have seen the setup for his return in Legion.
That is what's interestring, most ancient elves were not fully bad or fully good. They're so old that they loose the concept of both. They start as grey. Illidan, Azshara, Tyrande, Malfurion, Maiev... They could easily be considered "good" and "bad"'.
I wish. I truly wish this is what Azshara could be. I always liked her as a character, and all that she represented for the lore. She can be so much more than just a patch boss.
@@_xaxxas Definitely. She's the embodiment of everything that's good, bad, wrong, and amazing about WoW's elves. She's the single reason there are so many of them. And you say something that I definitely love about her: Pure, raw ambition, hunger for knowledge and power... but, at the same time, to uplift her people with her. She saw her empire as an extension of herself and, while she did truly horrible things, in the Warbringers video we see that she "cared". In a twisted way, but she cared. Let's hope she can mature, see and understand her own mistakes, and become the champion you suggest. Or, at least, have her have the death she deserves: Not as a raid boss, but as the mother of all mistakes that made the modern world of Azeroth what it is, and let her have her a *Magnificent* end :b
@@Lorthein Exactly ! Even when she offered her people to N'Zoth, which was a random move not really necessary for N'Zoth's plan, she did it because it was the only way to save them. She was loved by her people, people always forget that ! A ruler musn't be all pink, flowers and love, she did what she had to do at that time. And I'm so happy Xaxxas talked about Xavius, because he's the real baddy in the story, he was jealous of Azshara and wanted her downfall to finally be able to look her down as she did to him all these years.
@@Lortheinto be clear- Azshara had no desire to uplift her people with her. She let them die in droves even when they did not resist her and the Legion. She is a batshit insane narcissist. What happened in Zin-Azshari prior to that cinematic, completely under her approval, is actively stated to be genocide. She has no redeeming qualities.
It's funny this video comes out a bit after I make my post on wowreddit about Azshara beeing the new Kerrigan. She has always been an interesting character because despite beeing tagged as an ennemy and representing a faction we've been killing every expan, she has always been kinda grey. Finger crossed Azshara will become - or remain - the main character ! All of her titles are not for show, she's the one and only queen of Azeroth. Xal'atath is going to get her arse kicked :p !
While the Naga are badass looking and was totally looking forward to seeing her full potential void form, she is absolutely beautiful and amazing looking in her Void & light Nelf form and I hope she comes to fruition.
I hope we will get Azsharas head on a spike, as it getting tiersome to see another female character gets redeption arc when male character for the same crimes or even less gets butchered no questions ask
There is not that much anti-hero in the game, Illidan is a big example, but then what do you call a redemption arc ? I see no redemption anywhere except for Sylvacringe and it was mostly because Danuser explicitly told everyone she was his wifu, ignore her and you get no anti hero with a redemption arc.
No male characters being redeemed? So I guess Legion didn't retcon Illidan from villian to antihero, or in Shadowlands we didn't see a cured Kael'thas seeking redemption. Yup only Sylvanus serving penance after getting ruined by Danuser. Darn WoW hating men.
I like it. I don’t really think Elune and azorath will be the same, unless you are using a Trinitarian Christian meaning of “one” where they are like the father and holy spiritual (or mother and elune) which would make the Naha queen Wow Jesus. I think they are separate and azoroth is like Lovecraft and is dreaming reality, is the center of all, and must be in perfect balance of the base aspects of the universe. The pantheons are trying to sway reality towards their own ways, by corrupting her. However, I won’t be sad if blizzard does go the way you laid out here.
Something along those lines with the Trinitarian angle, I suppose I'd say. To quote The Embrace, "Out of the Lady's love for us, the Child, small and blue and marvelous, came into being." Sounds a bit like the begotten son concept.
I could get behind that, but my Mage but get jealous! The Nethermancer name is derived from the Netherlight Temple and Crucible, both known for their balanced integration of Shadow & Light.
Because it'd make no sense in the context of 90% of her lore and characterization. She sold the planet to Sargeras expecting it to kill all other elves because she viewed them as inferior being to her, she let Zin-Azshari even get partly purged. There is no redeeming qualities to work with, she's not even an imperialist for the gain of her people, she's just a narcissist.
What if she after some events will loose all her powers and become regular elf. Interesting you see her path maybe as redemption or so. In a books if I`m not wrong she was wise enough.
@@valeclaw1697 What ? What you said straight up never happened buddy. Xavius got corrupted by Sargeras and his job was to make Azshara quit so that she could give the Legion everything. The deal she made was "If you open the way for the Legion, we will protect you and your people from what's coming - aka the void - and in exchange, you owe me servitude and respect." She said "alright but not servitude, only respect", and for the sake of her people. She didn't know what Sargeras wanted to do, all of this was the plan of Xavius because he grew jealous of her. Most of what happened to other cities etc etc, she had no clue, she only saw Sargeras's army come to Zin-Azshari and act like a police, remember she didn't know he wanted to invade and corrupt everything, it was a deal she thought honest BECAUSE of Xavius. That's the whole point of the bfa cinematic Warbringer Azshara, when she said "No, no, this was not the deal I made !", because nothing that happened was in the deal. She and her people were supposed to be even greater and prepare for the fight with the void alongside Sargeras, instead, everything got destroyed, reason why she took revenge by sending lady Vashj to Illidan to chase the Legion, and manipulated N'Zoth in order to get a chance to kill him too.
Oh god, please no. I prefer her as an interesting villain and/or anti hero. The last thing Warcraft/WoW needs is another braindead snoozefest of a hero character. There are more than enough heroes already in this franchise who are all about spreading love and peace.
I could've stressed the Anti-Hero angle, but in this case, I'd imagine it would be more like that, not so much her characterization becoming Love and Peace. She just won't let Azeroth be consumed, that's where the heroism comes in.
Can’t stand what they did to azshara in game. The books portrayed her as an absolute psychopath narcissist , but they had to put some sympathetic twist on her in the game, which is nothing like the og azshara. Boo.
It's a remarkably Blizz-like model! All three I saw on your Artststation are. Hope great things for your path! And I'm glad you approve of its use haha
i always was obsessed with azshara since i read the first warcraft books. i was so mad at blizzard when the wasted her potential! but this gives me hope that she will have the storyline she deserves
Remember people even though steve danuser makes lore it does not mean he is the best at it. this youtube channel shows the lore can be so much more interesting and deep then it currently is ingame.
I used to have battles on the WoW forums years ago with Arthas fanbois about how Azshara was always the superior and more dynamic villain - and I know I'm not wrong lol. She is the greatest villain they've ever produced. But a redemption arc? Hmm...food for thought. I've always wanted her to have her own xpac, just as Illidan had his, Arthas had his, and with Midnight, I am trusting my years-long hope will be fulfilled.
Another one (in dj Khaled voice) Great video. Too good for today Blizzard standard. I know this is out of passion for Warcraft, speculation and editing but you set the bar too high man. 😂 Imo blizzard will shit the bed with Zovaal 2.0 and not knowing their lore. But who knows now with Metzen back they might cook something at least 10% as good as this theory.
Please for the love of god let this come true 🙏🏽 Her return has already been foreshadowed in DF and it would totally make sense for her to return at the darkest hour, when Azeroth has finally awoken, and her ancestral homeland will be under attack(plus the naga already have a presence around Quel’thalas).
The amount of effort you put into these is incredible. The storyline, the graphics, the VOICEOVERS! Producing top quality content, can't wait for whats next!
every scene of this video is so well made..its astounding *-* I'm sad i watched all your videos because I'm addicted to them now :D thanks for making these
I'm always creating a map in world editor that makes our Queen Azshara as an ally of Azeroth. I never thought that there's so much depth with her that it is beyond my comprehension. This is beautiful and makes me obsessed with her more. I'm your new subscriber!
so the blue child went down to azeroth and thats why she wasnt in the sky anymore im assuming, and i guess other gods or entities also went down there to maybe look for her or something.
Like all myths, there's room for flexibility. Whether it was one or the other, or both, I honestly could not pinpoint, but my inclination is that, based on her questions and specifics of her spoken travels, the Blue Child's spirit becomes a Mortal during her disappearance. A mortal that either already did, or will travel and learn from both Azeroth and the outer cosmos. I say "or will" because I'm leaning towards it being a meta-hint for us to interpret achronisticslly since it is presumably a reoccuring orbit, and not so much a literal story of Canon events bound to the past. So for example, Azshara's return will likely not be marked by the literal Embrace of the two moons, as we already saw this event very recently ingame, and it is a very rarely occurring celestial conjuction. And of course, our Blue Moon is currently present whilst Azshara is on her cosmos trip. That's why I emphasize the allegorical angle, and the fact that they leveraged the glitch into a Canon story at all had to be for a reason. :)
I just discovered this channel and it is by far the best wow content I've ever seen. You can feel it's born from true love for the game and it's world.
I come from a place in the world steeped in indigenous mythos, and for all of my love and admiration for/inspiration by these powerful stories, I have to recognize that there is after all, no literal Thunderbird. Raven did not literally bring The Sun into the sky. Instead, we infer lessons and wisdoms, finding the moral or symbol of the legend, and fold that understanding into the modern day. I think the Tauren recognize a bigger picture than the Night Elves with their reverence of The Sun as well as The Moon, but categorize it differently into a family dynamic for the sake of storytelling tradition. I don't think many of Azeroth's races are above this partial blindness of cultural perception. Or, honestly if we're lucky, I'd be very keen on seeing a wholly new and unseen Solar deity, rather than having 'Elune' fill that role. It's just that so far, I see more hints as it is that she is the Solar deity, given the role of Balance.
@@_xaxxas Thank you for your clear and concise response. This is the first video of yours that I have watched and even tho I do not agree with everything you said the presentation, the editing and the fact that you take your time to reply in the comments suggests to me that this is a good You Tube chanell. I will surely watch all of your videos since this one was very interesting.
Great video! I have always wondered why the story of Azshara is never told from the beginning but she is introduced directly as the queen of the Night Elves. This makes me think what her past could be and how did she manage to gain such power and authority in the society.
Tyrande: No. Lor’themar: No. Thalyssra: No. Veressa:No. Alleria: No. Malekith: WTF am I doing here…there are no elves on Azeroth! Just pathetic mutants…
I think Alleria's new model and its resemblances of Tyrande's Night Warrior form are indicative of the shared source of power behind those forms. So more like Alleria's reveals Tyrande was probably using Elune's Void aspects, and I've themed my renewed Azshara form following suite, with the starry, celestial Tattoos.
She doesn't follow a hero's journey because that narrative journey requires a would be hero to start from nothing. It's a journey of growth from zero to Hero essentially. Azshara actually could be said to follow a anti-Hero journey which is an inversion of the hero's journey.
Do we really need a nethermancer class when we already have shadow priest? I think that part was overreaching. Also the blue child represents Elune. She is the wayward sister to Winter Queen, a name which kinda resembles the white lady. Never understood why Winter Queen was called Winter Queen despite there was nothing about winter in her realm, but her being the white lady from the story makes sense now? Also you can see in Tyrande's Night Warrior arc that Winter Queen despite being angry towards Elune, she loves her deeply and misses her. So yeah, what if Elune was originally from Shadowlands? But then she embarked on her hero's journey and traveled between realms. She visited our material realm and made connections with mortals, she made connections with titans through Eonar. She also made same connections with other mortals on other planets, as we learn during Shadowlands. Here is another parallel for you people: The ancient Egyptian god Khonsu. He was the god of moon, time and knowledge. He was known as The Traveller. He gave up some part of his light to Thoth who is the other god of moon, time and knowledge after a wager, so one can assume he resembles the dark side of the moon. Who else represents the moon and has travelled to different planets to influence the mortals? ELUNE. She also gives some part of her light (power) to her chosen Night Warrior.
@@gregorhenry503 yeah but In time just wait they'll return and be our buddies in some way haha "Sargeras" still not off the cards to be a hero all along trying to stop the void or something. WoW is all about making friends and peace there isn't even a faction war anymore Horde vs alliance we now hold hands. The last expansion of Wow will be everyone best buddies so no need to fight
@@ddenozorno but Azshara is legitimately so much worse than almost all of them. She is single handedly one of the most evil motherfuckers in Azeroth. She is the only person so genuinely bigoted she made white supremacist ideas in Night elf society or actively believed in them by letting non pale, highborne elves get purged en mass purely because she believed they are inferior beings to her.
@@Corfield81 I mean there is a difference between "why all villains get redemption" and "you'll see, they'll get redemption i'm calling it", right now, nobody got a redemption. And what even is a redemption ??? Why would she need to redeem herself ? She doesn't care about the lesser races, she wants to ascend to godhood, become something with no form, no physics, just a pure one true goddess. She's past the "I'm just curious"' or "I want to be queen". She doesn't need your love, she doesn't need your acceptation, she needs power to become one with Azeroth or to get the same status as Elune. Trying to befriend us would mean she cares, but she doesn't even see us really, we're ants not understanding anything, but she doesn't want our death or destruction, she wants to be our protector because it flatters her ego. Putting her in the same basket as Sylvacringe or a big bad guy like Archimonde or Deathwing is stupid and makes no sense anyway, she's NOT a lawful evil character. She's a chaotic neutral one.
