To clear up a question, if those should be asking, the Calliope in the theme's name is referring to the instrument that the song is played with- or at the very least what it's supposed to sound like it's played with. A calliope is basically like an organ, but with the notes produced by steam whistles. Music played on calliopes are what most would associate with the typical circus theme. It has nothing to do with our dear Calliope the cherub, for anyone wondering. I just thought this was neat.

The title of this song makes me sad. 'Cause it's associated with Gamzee, and the word "Calliope" is in it. And Gamzee and Calliope...they...and they used to be...T_T
Every HS character has a LOT of themes, at least most of them. Gamzee can either be _The Carnival_ , _Purple Bard_ , this one, maybe _Sound Judgement_ (it could also be Terezi's tho), etc
here's what I picture - Gam sneaks around and slaughters all the trolls and begins to make a "showcase " for the troll's heads, later, after getting poisoned by poisoned pies made by an assassin and gam slowly dies as he loses his life slowly... HOW DO I IMAGINE THESE THINGS????!!!
After I decided to cosplay as Equius I played through this, ( I'm a bit new to the fandom...) And my patron troll is Nepeta...Therefore, My feels were SHATTERED.

Its only a speculation that equius died smiling because that....so why don't you get you facts straight and hey! Wanna know another speculation? Some people think he died smiling so nepeta wouldn't see him cry. So yeah don't get on someone elses case about their fav troll being a perv before you know the whole truth.

Equius was, physically, the strongest troll. A simple pat on Arthour's head made him bruise. Trying to fire a bow resulted in it breaking. Etc etc. By all accounts, Equius should have been the only troll guaranteed to be able to stop Gamzee. But he didn't, because he took sexual satisfaction in being punished by his blood superior for even hunting him down in the first place. He was a pervert, and was selfish when everyone else needed him most. And you cosplay him. Just thought I'd tell you.
