imo Makoto was the ultimate reference to the original Mid Night Club racing gang: A bunch of wealthy businessmen who spent a fortune in their rides and took them to the streets.
i mean, since he's the champ, might as well double down on the reference to Mid Night Club with him driving a porsche look a like, specifically 911 models from the 80s to 90s

man, you really had to know the maps and shortcuts of this game inside out if you wanted to make it to the end especially towards the end of the game, best child hood memories this game brings! :)

I like how there’s a little reference here BUT HEAR ME OUT in here you can see Makoto wearing a smartsuit and drives a well tuned car (I mean if you think about it that thing GRIPS on the road) and irl back in the 90s there was a real life street racing crew in Japan that raced on the wangan highway which was known to be as mid night club and they had some impressive ethics and rules and they were also buisness men kinda like makoto here BUT the midnight club also had a rule to not cause physical harm to other road users too (which is respectable) until 1999 they did a huge accident which led to two motorcyclist being killed and 6 other people injured which caused the midnight club crew to disband for good. Tbh I don’t promote street racing but it’s safe to say they definitely did it in safe measures and style
I like the ramps in Paris and Tokyo in this game because the more power, torque, and acceleration you hit at top speed the higher your jump gets. Thats what made this game so fun to play plus the soundtracks.
I know that it can be frustrating, but this epic feeling if u finally beat something unfair is legendary. If MC2 HD ever comes out, i want a Diff Selection. Classic and Veteran/Hard. On the Hard Diff= more Traffic would appear and your Enemies drive a lot better.

I almost agree with you. I find MC3: DUB Edition Remix to be more fun, but even over the years I've played it, it can't beat the memories I've had with Midnight Club 2. It's a very close call though.
This game have more fun factor than forza horizon ever have. fast ass AI that it makes newest racing games AI look lame and too boring AI now is too safety driving. this game AI is crazy kinda stupid but it's what make the midnight club series fun and exciting. Me and my cousin still playing midnight club 1.
Need for speed Heat and other racing games of 2020 will never compare to this masterpiece Idgaf what other people say ik I'm right this had more potential then the ones of today💯🙄

@TEAMSLAIN actually, the Saikou XS is the Supra AB-Flug Edition, which can be found on Forza 2... but yeah, it is pretty much a Supra with Veilside widebody kits

yes as i said maybe its just me, lets just say that MC was the best car game franchise in playstation :) yea like i played MC3 aswell, but as i say MC2 just has those kind of memories i will never forget :)
Pex_gDp-Hs 033 too bad rockstar dedicated their company to gta and all the creative developers from angel studios that helped make this game quit. Although I would love to see a remastered version I doubt it’ll ever happen😭.The music the characters the quirky lines it was so ahead of its time! mannn how I miss those days
Man even today, I still think rockstar did Makoto dirty. Bro only had 1 real race and it wasn't even on the same level of difficulty kenichis last race was.
maybe this is just me but i think this is the best care game on the PlayStation, i dont know it just feels like such a great game, and now looking back i still love it, too bad i dont have it anymore :/
My only problem with the Lusso XT is how fragile the car is. Acceleration ain't great, but a good use of the handbrake is usually what keeps me in control. I don't enjoy having an exploding car in the middle of a race, but then again I'm sometimes a traffic magnet lol. Most of the time I win using the Saikou XS, the handling and muscle is perfect for me, except in the rain, ironically.
I remember that I restarted this race what felt like hundreds of times. It's a lot more difficult on PC using the keyboard (the game doesn't like my 360 controller). After so many tries, I was finally in the lead in the final tunnel. I hit the last jump...and flew past the finish checkpoint with no hope of going back and still winning. At this point I ragequit and never played the game again.
This game had too many good lines for characters my favorite "keep flashing those beams, keep racing."those are some mad skills, I give him that."I don't care what you have to say, drive."
It took me about a week or so, the race fustrated me so much I was on and off about it. But funny thing now, my favorite race in Paris is Savo's. The second race.
Nice! Yeeaahh, I WANTED to attempt in the Lusso XT, but I backed out because of it's acceleration being rather poor, and not having many straights in Makoto's race, I did better with the Lusso XT in Savo's Tokyo Race's.
You're pretty good in that case, my first time took me alot longer since I used the Torque JX, I didn't switch to the Saikou XS until I got to Savo's first Race in Paris.
I used the Knight to beat Makoto and Savo, well I used the Saikou XS first then I went back and used the night when Career started over. The slowest car I can use to beat Makoto is the Fripon X, but the Handling made it very hard to do so, and took many retries.
its actually has good handling and i love using the knight more then the saikou xs because it doesn't make you spend out too much tou the saikou xs does make you spend out so knight= winner saikou xs = suck if cause you to spin out too much
Well, I did, and it's quite difficult. I also tried beating Makoto in a Lusso XT, Ichiro's car, and it'a also hard due to Lusso XT's handling is slippery in the rain.
Yeah, it's Accel. is pretty beasty, the only thing buggy about it when using it against Savo is the Nitrous, but Savo really isn't that hard once you have the race memorized.
