Yep, doing MC too. Wondering if someone or a ex-R* San Diego employee has a GC 2007 build. Anyways, i meant to upload this one 2 months ago, but i ran into some technical issues, and eventually forgot about it. This is a part 1, so stay tuned for other parts. And be on the lookout for a new NFSC video i'm going to post. I know it's going to blow your mind. :)

Trust me, if it has not been found yet, I might never be found, the metal song may be made for that bit, but is unlikely, techno may not be found ever

I think that the techno song's artist name's first part says "Amy". The song's title appears to have 3 words. Using Discogs (I put "Amy" as an artist name, "Electronic" as genre" and "Techno" as style), I've come to the conclusion that the techno song might be either "This Is News" (more possible) or "Thursday At Midnight" by Amy Serious. Doesn't help when we cannot even find Amy's songs on the internet. And I don't know who'd pay 30 dollars for that, and I do not have high hopes on it being those songs. Rockstar mostly had stuff from the early to mid 2000's (2005-2006 and 2007 mostly)songs in their OST, especially when it came to techno. I'd still wonder if it'd be possible to find those Amy songs somewhere. I think the only exceptions were dead prez - Hip Hop and Dead Kennedy's. I'm also very curious about the rock song, Shazam doesn't find it for some reason, even though it did find the Silversun Pickups song in the other GC 2007 footage (which you almost cannot even hear because the quality is so low). This also makes me wonder why it is so hard for Shazam to ID the techno song too. Hope someone would remake the rock tune, the loop sounds so cool.

Wow, Rockstar San Diego really were huge asses to their employees. All of this stuff is interesting though. The Porsche Cayman would've been damn nice to have in the game.

Porsche at the time made a contract to EA so That's why they cut off the Porsches.

I'm convinced it wasn't going to actually be a Porsche; they signed a contract with EA than enabled only them to use their vehicles, sending game devs sprawling to find alternatives to their cars or omit them completely from the drawing board. Rockstar did this in MC3 with the tuner Gemballa, and I think they were going to do it again. RUF and 9ff were two companies that modified Porsche Caymans around the time they were working on MCLA, so chances are that they either decided to just exclude the cars from the game or didn't have enough time to actually work on them

honda didn't allow cops, maybe mcla wouldn't be that much worse without cops, but cops and chases are a part of the midnight club series so yeah.

In the beta gameplay, I see that the trunk lid of the car has been slanted, causing the spoiler to be at an angle, thus the damage modeling for the cars were different and less realistic. You can't do that in the final game.

Wow Ferrari and Porsche were going to be in the game!!! Such a shame they could not get the licence for it. Midnight club la is a great game but its car list is really disappointing when compared to midnight club 3

True, but I don't really think they were going to be licensed under the actual brands; Porsche had a contract with EA and Ferrari didn't want their cars in games where players broke the law during that time, so Rockstar might have been planning on turning to tuning companies like they did with Gemballa in Midnight Club 3

Overall they had no time and desire anymore to add more cars like the GTR also was cut and all hummers and more cars like we also see it today rockstar is still investing time into GTA V which is from 2013 and they released RDR2 in only 3 years of work

More songs found! I found a few on a forum post, i cannot say these were actually supposed to be in the game, but they mentioned some of the final game's song and the cut Silversun Pickups song. It certainly would have fit - however, I'm wondering if previous history with Dead Kennedys songs being used for video games, with how many people derided the rest of the bands sans Jello Biafra for letting Police Truck be used for the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, played into it. Since then, there's been very few instances of DK's music being sub-licensed out for video games, with only California Uber Alles being used for Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and various other DK hits being used for both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Hell, Dead Kennedys weren't even in GTA V, which would be a perfect environment for California Uber Alles as well.

hey aero. i dont know if you're continuing on the second part of this series. but i know that the game was to feature the Nissan GTR in the game (prob as a prototype or something) but the game still has the rims from the car. you can still apply the rims in the game by hex editing your game save. there are plenty of tutorials on how to hex edit the rims on the game. some are outdated by using modio(since modio is shutdown. so i recommend using horizon.) the code for the GTR Rims is 8E

Wotto those rims were only in the Australian disc, so if you put 8E only aus discs can see it. Ntsc and other regions will see solid disc placeholder rims.

@@undeadsamurai8590 what version of the game do you have. I actually have ntsc and its the standard edition not the complete edition. I was playing again when it became backward compat. On xbox one and it give you the complete edition instead. And yes in the complete edition the rims are seen as place holders not the original model. Rockstar muat have patched them.

damn, a SSPU song was cut from the game...? actually thinking about it, I'm fine that they cut the song since I can't imagine that song fitting with the game mood. You should do a video for the first three games. What is interesting is a Gamespot TV report from E3 2000 mentions THREE cities in the first game. The video of the report can be found here, on RU-vid.

Yes. Midnight Club 1 was supposed to feature Tokyo, my friend got files from a early prototype and Tokyo was in it, his friend ported it to Midtown Madness 2 on his blog, but i do not know what the blog was called again.

Wow! Thanks for such a quick reply (I was literally still watching this video when you replied)! I just tried searching for the blog you mentioned and found nada. Do you think you could make a video of it in the future? Also, what remains of it in the files (i.e. was the city complete, traffic cars, characters, etc)?

HenryStudioCA Well i do not know the details really, i can ask my friend, though. All i now know is, a known collector sent him a beta of MC1 but without the .ELF or SYSTEM.CNF, making the original build impossible to play, so instead, he did some file swapping and that did work to some extent. Tokyo still isn't mentioned in the track selection screen, however everything (including new objects such as lampposts) is still in. Tokyo was pretty much finished, so i have no idea why they would remove it almost last-minute. And i am not sure. I think after a few NFS video's i have time for MC1. Plus a MC3 analysis will be uploaded in between. It's almost finished, but i'm still trying to see if i can find new stuff, and i did. BMW's were appearently removed from the game. Expect a video about it in a month or 2 maybe.

+A Berk I looked through MC3's source code, and didn't find much, to be honest. I think the data from the game can be extracted, since the game also uses a ''assets'' file which holds all or most of the data.

I have the name In the lowest quality possible so you wont get to read it, appearently, theres more footage of the same event taken at the exact same time, the sad part is, the camera was so low quality it wasn't readable. Since MC has alot of obscure songs from obscure artists, we might never know the name of the song...

Also, if you didn't know.... The career police impala that is AI driven is actually the same exact police car from MC3. So that Dodge ram AI could have been part of the AI but taken out in the final cut since they already recycled one AI vehicle. It really would not surprise me at all if the beta disc actually has A whole lot more (From MC3) than what was originally intended. More evidence from their repetitiveness is MCLA for the PSP. The PSP version is MC3 with new cars and a new interface. I have the ISO for the PSP version. It can easily be downloaded from a ROM site.

Undead Samurai For some reason, most files are in a wierd format that i don't know about. I can open them with Hex, though. I'll make screens later for you. Also, thanks. And regarding Midnight Club 3, i recently extracted the assets file, and i have acess to alot of stuff. Traffic vehicles are also in a format (.mesh) that 3DS Max supports, so converting traffic cars is possible. When the Midnight Club 3 Beta Analysis comes out (i already found alot of stuff), i'll put the traffic vehicles for download for modding/converting stuff. And yep, it also uses MC2's LA and Tokyo map too.
