Hi Stu! I just found this so interesting! I'm from NZ and do a bit of boating and fishing, just have a small tinny we use around the bay of islands. A lot of city people come here in the summer in their fabulous launches, however it's rare to see a powerboat and never a midnight express. They sure are beautiful boats. After watching multiple channels of the haulover inlet, it never ceases to amaze me the volume of magnificent boats coming in and out all the time, and how brilliant the midnight express handles that inlet always so gracefully. Your commentary was fantastic, thank you. Cheers
Derrick- thank you for the kind remarks ...we had some challenges producing this one with limited chopper time and a southbound course that did not provide good lighting in the first few minutes of the morning, but when we turned eastbound, things lit up and the boat captains really pulled off a great run!
CHAD you are so right...cannot understand this at all. Anyone on my boat has to wear when we go offshore, especially out in the ocean to Bahamas. I wish more people would wear them ...these lightweight suspender jackets are so easy to wear, and save lives. Shit happens fast on a boat, life jackets are just a part of boating!

Keep on open mind instead of a closed one and you can be too, not as hard as you might think. Money is everywhere, you just need a method of collecting it from people who want to spend it.
Everyone has the potential to be that rich, you just have to put in the hard work and effort to get there. If that means working 16 hour days, that means working 16 hour days. Put in the effort and you'll get there. Complaining about it wont get you anywhere.
@@The_JEB Only a fraction of people on this earth will ever have the resources to spend 300,000 plus dollars for a luxury item like a boat. No matter how many 16hr days they put in. But that's just a reality of life. I accept that I will never own one of these boats but I enjoy admiring their beauty and performance and have no ill will or jealously towards those wealthy enough to own them. Some of whom were lucky enough to inherit their fortunes. But whatever the case, good for them.
@@karldunnegan2689 If you have a hard time saving money for things then start calculating how many hours it takes to buy things. Everything down to a $20 meal at McDonalds. If you make $16.50 an hour that McDonalds meal would cost you 1.2hours of work. If you do that you may end up becoming very frugal in what you buy and sooner or later you'll have enough money for one of those $300,000 luxury boats.
Those 43' one's are probably the best boat to make that cross'in and it doesn't matter 4 or 5 450's.. I wonder what's the fastest someone has made that trip in a 43'
Blame to boaters who did not leave at 7am when they were supposed to LOL, Instead they left at 8pm when the sun was already up and the video crew was already seated and in position..:)
You work with what you have....once you are in the air. Only the LEFT doors are off and we did not intend to leave late in the AM after sunrise. We were suppose to depart at 7am, the sun was still down and we had no issues... Its not an exact science when you shoot events.. The company owners called for a later start and it messed up the video crew...we had the left doors off of he chopper and a charted course south...ONLY option was to shoot into the sun for the first 15 minutes until we turned East bound and then had better light. Nuff said, point taken.
Good credit and most use equity built in there home to put as down payment also a low debt to income ratio but some are millionaires and alot of money is made in real estate nowadays so if you wanna make some easy money but put in sweat equity look into wholesale real estate
Hard work = good income= nice lifestyle. most are self-employed and earned everything they have in life... but also they focus on managing their wealth and keeping a balance in life. These are common characteristics of the thousands of wealthy powerboaters I have met since I started Fl Powerboat Club in about 1992. ( yes indeed many are just born into it...but that is a small percentage) thanks!
Where do you find time to watch these videos? dont you have a gym membership you need to fulfil? Are you seriously on this channel to judge people's personal fitness?? This is a lifestyle video production showcasing people who enjoy the powerboating lifestyle. We dont judge each other on our "fitness levels" we go boating, have fun and treat all our friends on the same level. Are you capable of that? Think before you comment, we are real people my friend. nuff said.

If i'm not entitled to my opinion of my own observation then please explain how I should act specifically. Just be ready for my recommendation on exactly how you should act, respond, and live your life.
fluke196c agreed, I don’t mind the talking on the poker run videos but on a video like this there should be all about the motors and the boats with way less talking....
Yah this would be true and manageable for some of our other events with Florida Powerboat Club, but when you do a center console event, the Mercury Verados are virtually the quietest motors ever made...there is no engine noise to detect even with the best microphones...all you would here is scratching wind-noise as it distorts the camera mics. So instead we use music beds and narration that introduces the people, the boats, and the specs....Based on feedback from viewers, people want to hear more at the boats and even about the people driving them. If you watch other Videos on my channel...you will always here me turning up the natural audio when the engines sound good....and we enjoy it as much as you do!
My 20 ft Bullet bass boat has a 225XS with sports master lower unit, 83 mph gps, the boat is unlimited H.P. I wonder if it could handle one of these 400R Mercury’s hanging off the back?
talk to your local Mercury dealer on that issue, but Im guessing the 225Hp is what your bass boat is rated for...and putting 400HP on the back would just be overkill and dangerous. Go up a few feet and maybe that would work:)
Florida Powerboat Club Stu Jones I was just kidding, my boat scares me and I fully respect it, you should watch the video of the bass boat with a 400 R, he had a blow out and spun out at over 100mph, they both survived, it ripped the cowl off and took a chunk out of the boat, my boat is unlimited hp, a lot of guys have 300s on them doing high 90s to 103mph! I’m happy to have a mid 80s bass boat! Bullets are the corvettes of bass boats, I own a mint Ranger with a 150 Optimax if I want to go slow, 60mph boat 30 hrs on it, I bought it brand new, both my boats are perfect, I’ve all ways loved boats, especially bass boats!

Mat Bob it’s kind of ironic having a boat company called midnight express, why don’t you rename your boat company to mid morning express. Mid afternoon express, and so on! I’m not jealous or a Bernie Sanders follower! I’ve seen countless videos a haul over inlet in Florida, where your boat midnight express 38, 43, and so forth take on water from the bow! Almost sink, the front bow is too lowly flared, the bow to stern arch geometry and design is very poorly designed! I’ve owned several different fishing and pleasure boat’s, the midnight express is one of the few poorly designed and made boats I’ve ever seen! High price, but engineering and ingenuity at the lowest spectrum of boat building!
Simon Assouline now it’s fair opinionated debate based on your knowledge, and not an insult. I personally wouldn’t take it as the organizer did but the event is amazing and boats are gorgeous and mixing it with drug runners might throw the folks off, especially in today’s world . That’s what lazy socialists do constantly and Florida is one of few left untouched by that type of cancer. I’m clueless about the boats i did enjoy the event, motivation and nice boat designs. hello sir, with all due respect I appreciate your comment but I listened to the video again (and again) there is NOT ONE thing I said what was illegal or out of the ordinary. I mentioned that tipping Big Game dockmasters is a tradition for $ 20 (minimum) and I also said we cleared quickly because we were "Prepared" with all the paperwork filled out in advance. did not work out that time because the shooters were seated on left side of chopper- so it was not an easy fix- but now we do it differently to get the good lighting

I wasn't promoted as a fishing tournament but FY there were about six boats with rods out and three came home with a fresh catch. Don't worry these guys fish when they want to but we don't promote the event as a fishing expo.... So you can relax, we like fish too!
7:42 - 5 x 400 hp = 2000 hp... 3 x 350 hp = 1050 hp... 2000-1050 = *950 hp* ... Which is *not well over 1000 hp* difference. I'm wondering how you came up with that statement, haha.
hey Ronny yah it really did turn out nice, but the funny part is...we just set that up on the VHF in a couple minutes time and these Midnight owners really took it to task and NAILED IT!!
HEMI Power, honestly what's not to like?? Its a subjective thing I understand, but as a 30-year veteran of this sport and thousands of hours on board these boats as an organizer, plus thousands of hours editing still photos for publication and video content for TV shows...I can say these Midnight express boats are stylish, well- built and run fantastic. It seems like your "something" is an unsure statement. Watch our next video and give the brand a fair review. If you don't like them....you probably don't like boating in general...If you rode one, Im sure you would change your mind quickly!
@@JP_94 actually good question... No personally I do not own a Midnight Express. I own and operate Florida Powerboat Club so it is my livelihood to ride, test, and navigate boating groups to exotic destinations thru out Florida and the Bahamas, and to create content platforms for the powerboating industry to showcase the brands and the lifestyle.. We create boating events, aerial photo shoots and video productions of boating events year round. It's prudent for me to NOT own an $800,000 boat...I will let the wealthier clients enjoy that privilege.... while I ride along and enjoy my job:)
@@stujones3198 Meh, I'm with Hemi on this. I'm sure they are great boats. The Customs guys have one here in my AO. It's just the aesthetics of that swept down bow similar to Fountain that I don't like. I like more traditional lines. I'm sure it helps with visibility, but it just seems counter intuitive. I recently bought a humble little 27' Onslow Bay and really like the large swept bow with lots of flare. To each his own though and looks like a great time! Great video Stu!

@@FLpowerboatClub Reggie use to come to events like this and just “sell the sport”. I saw him at the Miami Boat Show about 8 years ago and he as talking to a group of people about how performance boating has changed and become more of a family activity and not suited to boats going 60, 70, 80 mph.
yah we are puzzled at the recent murder of a local restaurant owner, we knew him. But that is very rare for Bimini, in 25 years there have been a (few) murders but seems like remote incidents. Bahamas are generally safe
Great video as always and the Midnight Express has come a long way. I may be in the market for one next year and of course I'll follow that up with multiple Poker Runs, especially Bimini and Keys.
@robbie G I ended up purchasing a Scout 350 LXF, the deal was too good to pass up. I'll still end up with a Midnight Express at some point. Not sure what the Dreamer or Woke Up Yet comments are referring to but I woke up 4 months ago and bought a Scout.

We use Deephouse Monster tracks because they do such great remixes...and the music seems to really fit this powerboating lifestyle vibe! Great video, the boats look amazing. I like the runs with a stop or two. Poker runs are fun too, but can quickly become a bit of pain with the wrong ego's. I've put some local poker runs together and it's a lot of work, wears you out. I don't know how Dave Patnaude did it for so long...LOL
High Velcoity: Yes your comments well received! Poker Runs are fun for those who attend them, and a Labor of Love for those who organize them. The egos can be a little irritating sometimes but I always step back and looks at where the egos come from before I judge or respond. If I try to dig a little deeper and get through that tough outer shell...I usually find a real person who just puts up a big bark because they think it draws attention. When they realize we are all on an equal playing field on poker runs....soon they drop their guard and often become fun people who are actually quite grounded. It's possibly the most challenging part of the job...but often worth the effort when you see people loosen up and show their human side. And yes, DP did it for years, and I was with him every step of the way. All the guys he served...are the same guys I have known for decades...and they are wonderful people!

Craig...agree with you 100%. the Bimini Rendezvous was a great marketing tool for the brand. But it wasn't intended to be that for the owners...as much as just a THANK YOU for buying our boat and for being a loyal customer. Great outcome, WIN- WIN for all!
