I'm liking your video before I've even watched it.... FINALLY someone has done a video on the MD Codex. Even better, it was you that did the video! Thank you for sharing! 💜
If anybody wants to look up the Codex on Amazon Japan, it's about 2400 Yen and you have to search for MDノート ジャーナル A5 1日1ページ - the Japanese call it a journal interestingly enough. Thanks for the thorough video Sarah, I've been eyeing both of these lately but I think I already have enough notebooks as it is. 🙈 Not that this isn't tempting!
@@sarahmartinezjournals Could I ask how thick it is compared to the Archer & Olive traveler's size notebook? I'm wondering if it'll fit in my Traveler's Company TN if I cut it down... thank you!
I was thinking of getting the codex. Baum-kuchen has them in stock, but not the cover. I was thinking of the blank, but I like the mint color of the dot grid. I'm glad you posted. Thanks so much!
fyi, Im going with a 1 day a page A5 midori this year, and it fits perfectly on a hobonichi 5 year journal cover, with room for bulk and all. I am using mine on a search and collect cover and its just SO CUTE! It was kind of a gamble to buy the cover, but it was like they were made for each other. Hit me up if u would like to see photos, havent gone around to posting them on instagram yet but probably will do real soon =)
Beautiful notebooks. And I loved the covers you showed. Just want you to know that I ordered an Olive Archer travelers notebook (used your link so thank you for the discount!) and it’s all your fault! Couldn’t resist! Lol! I can’t wait until it arrives. Just have to figure out how I’m going to use it along with my 3 other planners. 🤦🏽♀️😂 Much love and blessings to you! ♥️
I’ve wanted to try these so badly! The only a5 I’ve found as thick as these is the Soumkine A5 380 page journal, which is definitely amazing, but doesn’t have the MD paper that I love so much...
Thank you for sharing this. Midori is often overlooked I think. I just received my A6 Midori 1P/1D from an Etsy shop. A little surprised that T this A6 is not the traditional A6 sizing at all and thus no COC available...anywhere. So happy to hear the cover holds up well. Although, I will be ordering a great cover. Nothing expensive (faux leather) but truly quite lovely. Hand made to accommodate the odd A6 sizing. I wish it was available in cream to match the Midori, but alas, it's white....but, at this price, I might just neeeeed another cover 🤩
Yes its a tricky size since it doesn't fit into available leather covers. I had to have one custom made for my A6 and I made one myself for my A5. I hope you enjoy your 1D1P! They're such elegant books🤩
This video is a little old so hopefully you respond haha. I am about to start my first year of Uni and I love Midori, they are my favourite stationary brand. As someone who prefers to handwrite, would you say the Midori Codex will be good for note-taking? My plan is to use the A5 notebook, because of its smaller size for actual lectures, and then use the A4 Codex for nicer notes and for word processing, so when it comes down to studying for exams, I have a nice large and very neat book to read and reference from. I plan on using them as a set, an A5 Notebook and an A4 Codex per class as they are very note-intensive classes (English language and Linguistics is my degree). What would your advice be?
Sorry, I guess it's also A5 sized. However, I still think the extra pages will be nice in having more room/space to lay out notes and make them more digestible.
Yes the codex is A5 sized. I’m using one now! I think it would be great for notes. I only caution how thick it is. It can be cumbersome to write near the edge because of the steep drop off-if you place your phone underneath your hand or something else to prop your hand on, it makes it more comfortable to write!
I loved your leather T cover! It is stunning! But when I went to their website I didn´t see any hotebook covers, only watches. Could you share the link, please?
I learnt so much. I did not know one could rip off the spine to expose it so that it can bulk up! Thank u as always Sarah. Still being strong n determined to use up my existing notebooks n not buy more even tho I want to😣. R u home now from your travels?
Stay strong! Haha, I know it’s hard especially when so many new things are coming out. I’m currently back home for a few weeks. I need to decide what to bring with me when I leave again since it will be a much longer trip!
Hey Sarah, are you back home? Hope all is well with the Fam & everyone is peacefully healing. You know I love all you do & present. Your own creations are so much fun to watch & see what you do with them. Do you think you will ever make to sell? I always had it in for your little personal care journal with the outside pocket; I think its an A6? its in one of your video's you did but cannot remember the maker? TYFS all you do; Luv & Hugz always
Hey, Cynthia!! We’re back home for a few weeks. Then we’ll be heading away again! I don’t have any plans to sell covers. It would require time that I just don’t have. Plus, I’ll be out of town for weeks at a time and won’t be able to bring my tools with me😬. Yeah I have an A6 LeCow for my 5 year Hobonichi with gorgeous texture! I get asked all the time if I would sell it but it’s a favorite of mine, haha. Thanks so much for watching, XO
It always bugged me Midori or travelers company never made just a standard hardcover a5 notebook using their paper. I don’t like confining myself to one a day entrees. Sometimes I can go pages pouring out my thoughts. Sometimes I only get out a paragraph. I’ve always wanted to try midori products but dang are they just not made for me 😢
It’s basically a book that you stick random things in. Photos, ephemera, etc. without much additional decoration or structure. I’m drawn to it because it’s quick!
I think I tried several different things, like prayers and then investing. But none of them worked out. I tore out the used pages then ended up donating the book when I did a big clean out of my stationery stuff.
It’s nothing revolutionary, I promise! Haha. I’m going to do a smash book style memory keeper instead of using the dated Hobonichi. But I’ll be sure to do a video explaining it more thoroughly♥️
