I was just at that intersection yesterday evening and I didn't see you filming. If I did, I would have come over to say high. Really huge fan of your channel and I told my friend who lives in Toronto about your RU-vid channel.

I too, live in the Yonge/Eg area. "Never ending rat's nest" is a perfect description of the mess.

I left Toronto AND Yonge and Eg ten years ago. Construction started not long after I left, and it looks like it NEVER ENDED

It wasn't like that at all when I lived there from the mid-1970s to the mid 1990's! There was no construction going on throughout that whole period. I'm amazed at how the Yonge-Eglinton area has changed.

I used to get terribly homesick watching your videos, but not so much anymore. OMG I barely recognize Y&E anymore. The endless construction would drive me $#$$@!!

I lived in the Yonge & Eglinton area from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s. When I left Toronto in 1995, there was NO construction at all in that area. I too am amazed at all the construction going on. But I'm not surprised. In Malta, where I'm living now, it's even worse. It seems the whole world has gone mad with construction.

I lived at Orchard View Boulevard from 1976 to 1995. The area was not as upscale as it is now. At the corner of Yonge & Orchardview, where RBC (whatever that is!) is located now, there used to be a large dry cleaners plant. On the opposite side of Yonge Street, in the area where the Rose & Crown (opened in the 1980s, if I remember correctly), is located, there used to be a Mcdonalds'. In the late 1970's, the same site was a Funeral Parlor! Further up Yonge Street, there's the former, spacious Post Office. I used to like going there. Very good service! When I left Toronto in 1995, Canada's Postal Service was bankrupt. The local post office moved to a small convenience store at the Yonge-Eglinton Centre, which was quite different from the slick shopping centre it is now. Over time, nothing stays the same.

It was a no mans land in the 1960's between Eglinton and Lawrence where the Subway is only up to Eglinton.

I hate pavement encroachments/appropriations: cafes, tent cities, long-term scaffolding.. Once begun it's a free-for-all & no end in sight! (Or space to walk properly).

Always enjoy your vids. You travel through places I haven't been to often, esp lately, so: vicarious thrills I suppose. Areas like this are changing, but not always to the better. If there's $ to be made, the philosophy seems to be --> Just bludgeon it, and put up another architecturally lame condo while killing interesting local businesses.
