It amazes me how the Hoover Z400/700 series "filter flicker" patent keeps popping up in modern vacuums.

I can assure you that this Miele Duoflex was made in China. Would you like me to make a short video where I point out that the main unit, the mini motorised head and main floor head all have MADE IN CHINA printed on them. Several Miele vacuum cleaners are made in China including the Boost CX1 bagless cylinder and I expect within five years, all production of Miele vacuum cleaners will be moved to China judging by the press release I’ve read regarding Miele moving production of many of their appliances to countries where labour costs are cheaper. If your particular one says made in Germany on it, I’d love to see a short video on your channel showing that.

@@ibaisaic apologies I didn’t see that, looks like they do some parts there. Personally it doesn’t bother me at all, still very impressed with the quality and happy with this machine.

I feel like Miele really shows their lack of understanding of bagless units whenever a new unit comes out. Still no dual or multicyclonic system? and where does the dirt from the filter deposit? I'm not seeing a way where it would fall into the bin so it just sits in that back compartment waiting to potentially be sucked into the filter again? I do like the new head, it appears to be very much like the EBK250 which in vaclab's testing has been shown to be pretty efficient in terms of airflow, a shame it struggles with your carpeting. That mini head though is a big improvement the HEB160, used on the triflex, is way too large and clunky for a handheld machine. The new placement of the battery should also make handling it above the floor better. Still it was nice to see one in use so thanks for the video.

The germans always seem to prioritise airflow rather than dust separation, all machines such as bosch and sebo ( I know they are bagged) have high airflow and you cant achieve that with cyclones. Atleast with this all parts can be removed and cleaned unlike the cyclones on a modern Dyson thats very difficult to open up and clean
@Blackheartvacs
@Blackheartvacs 3 месяца назад
@@s.kxx1956 Yeah i know they will lead to a lowered airflow but they also keep your filter cleaner when you're dealing with a filter with such small surface area I think it's important to keep dirt away from it to maintain your airflow as long as possible. Miele's been using a system not too different from a shark. It's like cmon you can do better than that!

@@s.kxx1956just a note, some vacuums like the Toshiba vc cl 3000 do have removable cyclones which you can wash.

Quite interesting. At first I thought it was going to be fantastic, then after the initial test on the carpet thought, this is isn't going quite so well but as you say so many vacs have problems on your lounge room carpet. I was surprised and impressed by the amount of deep down dirt and grit it collected. It didn't seem to snow plough and didn't throw bits and pieces out of the way as often my now old Dyson does. I will be interested to hear your update later on how you assessed it for use in your home and if you kept it.
@huskyvacs
@huskyvacs Месяц назад
Yeah the problem is vacuum companies and carpet companies are not in connection, so when you have a rubber backed plush carpet and a strong vacuum cleaner, you're basically putting a straw in a bottle and sucking the air out. The vacuum wants to suck itself down into the carpet because the rubber creates an airtight seal. That makes vacuums very difficult to push on ultraplush carpet because they start burrowing down into the carpet trying to get to the rubber. Your basic everyday nylon-backed carpet is not a problem because the backing material is mesh and the air can pass through it from the subfloor, which breaks the suction force.

Oh dear. The cheapening of Miele is ongoing even though it does clean. That adaptor looks like you should have had an L-shaped jack but as you point out even that wouldn't be able to come out of the dock. Either the Chinese have used an incorrect part or they forgot to update their instruction book. Was the post-motor filter full of that flour?
@huskyvacs
@huskyvacs Месяц назад
13:24 yes that is clearly an L-shaped plug connector. Miele bundled the wrong charging plug with this vacuum. They also bundled the wrong wall bracket. I think that one is the one that goes with the tool caddy, which is why it's shaped to the wands can nest within it.

The carpet head needs a row of vents like Wessel-Werk has with the SoftClean EBK-360 and like Rainbow, TriStar and others have played with over the years. The Rainbow now has them built in discreetly like the SoftClean on the PN12 V2 and the replacement "manifold" for the V1. I only know this because I replaced it on my machine. I suspect the "redesigned" PN12 for the SRX has it as well. For the little bit of vacuuming you did, that's pretty impressive.

I imported a 50 year old Miele from a rural village in Germany a few years ago. I absolutely love it. The man said it did not work and was "for junk", but what happened was the grease got a little hard from sitting so long and it made the motor stuck. I put some new grease in it and it came back to life.

I think companies tell you not to wash filters so that they clog up quicker, making you buy them sooner
@huskyvacs
@huskyvacs Месяц назад
No it's because they are made out of shrinkable fibers. When they get wet and dry out again, they shrink, which closes the pores of the fabric up, and then it no longer filters. And if they are paper based filters, well, they will just turn into pulp and crumble away. Theoretically you could starch it, but would the starch add a problem point for dirt to stick onto is another question.

Ta, I’ll stick to my Dyson v15. Why would you accept a pleated non washable filter on a premium product. It looks like style over substance. Great review as ever.

This is not looking great. Miele went downhill with their new appliances. This vacuum has too many flaws, in my opinion, to be considered 'premium'. The bin not coming off, and the filtration seems...not existing really, just a mesh filter and a post-motor filter. My Philips SpeedPro was literally 1/3 of the price and it's amazing. It has proper filtration, washable filters, a detachable dirt bin and a proper wall mount. It never cut out on me, works on every carpet, no matter the direction 😂

Miele is not the company they used to be. They've been coming out with these bagless machines for the past 4 years trying to compete with companies like Dyson and Shark. I'm not impressed with this machine and I don't see myself buying one of these in the future, ever.

Dysons still the best when it comes to emptying. I'd imgine this being extremely messy with use. Also looks quite bulky. 2024 and no anti hair wrap? And here they are again with their amazing bagless technology.

Let me clue you into a little secret - people that overly hygienate themselves and try and live in a hospital ward will be sicker more often, and more susceptible to allergies and the flu than people that live in dirty houses. Your body needs to be exposed to bacteria and pathogens regularly to develop immunties to them.
