29SMT is a fatass plane, but it does not have received the RD-33 series 3, those can probably help at the time to dogfight. Sadly the R-73's just carry the plane.
I often play custom servers, and whenever my R73 missile misses the target and theres 5 planes flying around, i would often randomly get a kill with R73 that i wasnt even going after. This missile is so drugged, its gonna literaly hunt down other planes, and even if it mises it will find another one to prey on.
The fact this starts off with the R-73s... and that I just found out from this video the R-73 can be radar slaved to nullify preflaring, this fucking missile is the bane of top tier now, I'd literally spend money to get the SMT fast tracked just so that I'm not without a completely and utterly broken missile.
I'm not here to argue about which jet has the better missile but I think it's rather unfair that the MiG starts with 2 R73s while the F16 only gets 2 Aim9Ls. Edit: Nevermind the fact it gets the full loadout on the 3rd tier instead of the 4th lmao
bro, the aim9l is more flare resistant than the r73 istg, my enemies on full burner flare my r73, but when i turn off burner and flare the aim9l doesnt even glance at the flares and hits
Hey, do you have any tips for grinding in Air RB? I’ve tried flanking by going around the action at the start and turn in later, but doesn’t consistently land kills. I’m using the MiG-23ML by the way.
Disclaimer: I dont have much experience with MiG-23, played the MLD for a bit before going back to the MiG-21SMT, but I have grinded out most of the Russian/Soviet tree and spaded the MiG-29a and most of the SMT so hopefully this might be of some help. Look up some guides on how to notch and try climbing to ~5000 meters or so early in the match, slightly off to the side of the objectives, scan the horizon for contrails and your radar for signatures. R-24R is kinda crappy but you should have some luck if you launch at a good angle at a target flying 20km or less distance away, provided they arent evading ofc. By that point the merge has already happened and there are plenty of targets to choose from on the fringes of the furball with your IR missiles. Alternatively if someone launches at you first with a radar missile, pop chaff, notch, and slot in behind your team, and you should be able to both evade the missile in most cases and be in a good position to pick your targets. Player behavior can change considerably depending on map size, location of objectives, and terrain. You'll want to use these things as well, and adjust your gameplay accordingly from the start. Also, get your crew upgraded to expert or ace level! You dont want to be blacking out on those turns with aim-9ms and r-73s flying around! Good luck!
Sometimes this is possible but not for a huge margin outside the circle. If the enemy stays too long locked out of the 'lock circle' the lock for IR missiles gets broken. So you have to shoot pretty fast if the enemy goed outside the circle when you locked him.
gonna be honest, i have yet to outflare a single r73. 9M’s? They suck but I can do it pretty easily. No matter what I do I’ve always been hit by an r73 unless I use terrain as cover
Front and side lock 9M's are nasty as hell. R73's are nasty at all angles. I've flared 9M's when they go straight for the rear but same as you no R73 has been flared by me.
I honestly find it just depends on the jet you're flying, ones that run super hot, like the tomcat will have a harder time trying to flare R73s, compared to say, any other aircraft at the BR.
Ikr, one time I got killed by it front aspect even though I afterburner off, turned and flared. It’s the one missile I haven’t been able to dodge (haven’t been playing too much top tier though)
i rushed f4e in like 2 weeks in free evenings you can do it, just skip planes that are "shit" dont waste crewing stuff that have bad rep cost or that wont get you alot of kills like f9f the f8 corsairs the f4c and f3d
Mig-29 have HUB function (F-14/F-16 have too), it can lock radar on enemy by mouse circle or in the usual way: scan-detect-lock the target (i don't know how to call it), late AAM IR like aim-9L, r-73 or maybe r-60m/mk can lock target with lock radar like AAM radar. Combining those two things will be the answer to your question: how can he shoot without locking on to the target in the usual way? How to use: just lock like AAM radar, but choose AAM IR. I hope i can help u with this.

Both r good for different uses. R73 gets a lock on yr afterburner (or fired far outside the gimble limit) u die. If u dont turn after flaring a 9M it will remember and u die
You must be dense if you think the 9m is hard to flare. You’re probably flaring like it’s pre sons of atilla, you need to use at least 3-4 pops of flares and then turn. You can’t do that on r-73, at least with aim-9m you need skill/knowledge to dodge/flare. R73 and ER just don’t care
@@ursensitiveinagayway4016I’ve been flaring the r73 and dodging the r27er just fine. I just flare and lower my throttle a ton then break off to the side and for the r27er I fly low and notch or pitch down when it gets close. If neither of those work for you for sone reason just roll and pitch at high speed and you should be able to dodge. And I did this in a MiG 23 so I think you should be able to in most toptier planes.
@@bukhariez97 i mean for a mig 29smt shouldn't take that long based on my stock grind experience but with the new update top tier is playing *CAN YOU FLARE THE MISSILE?* so idk haha I'll give a better comment later once i watched it
