Cool video Gareth especially the excellent Mighty Max joblot. I do remember watching the cartoon and I did have a few of the sets (especially the maneater shark and the skull watch). Good childhood memories. Plus those SW Micro Machines sets are simply awesome 🔥👍

Liked the mighty max pieces,Frankenstein one was brilliant, were they made by Polly pocket, was one girls and one boys? I use to read comics when I was younger, must be nearly fifty years now, Wow, lol, was sub mariner and also silver surfer, fantastic four

Yeah, they were made by British toy company Bluebird. Due the the success of Polly Pocket they wanted to offer something similar for the boys toy market and so Mighty Max was born.

Thanks Ian. Haha, as yet I haven’t even had a proper look at them! I put them away after filming so I could start filming the rest of the stuff and have been working backwards to get through everything in the last couple of days. There was a LOT of stuff that came in last week and it’s gonna take a little while to get through it all. I’m sure I have an incomplete Skull Mountain somewhere (as I mentioned in the video) but haven’t had chance to dig it out yet. Hopefully I will have the Mighty Max done (or at least started on) by the end of this week :)

Jealous of some of those mighty max pick ups, some really nice pieces for your collection there. Out of interest, when you are keeping pieces for yourself, do you pay nearer to market value, rather than a trade price for the pieces that you keep? I really enjoy the videos, you should be getting more views than you do, always a good watch and informative.

It depends really, it’s always a deal I have to work out with the seller. Sometimes I get things at the shop buy-in price and other times I will offer that little bit more just because I know how much I want the goods. When I am lucky enough to get stuff at ‘trade-in’ price it effectively a ‘perk of the job’ and in order to get these perks I have had to struggle through two recessions and the whole C-19 lockdown business, in the early years I frequently went without wage in order to keep the shop open and even now there are some weeks when I don’t get a ‘full wage’ so I feel that getting the occasional bargain for myself just helps to balance things out. The main thing is that the person who sells is happy at the end of the day, after all I want them to come back again and they won’t be doing that if they feel they have been ripped off or that they have had a bad experience. Thanks, I feel I was on a bit of an upward trend a few months ago but it seems to have settled back down again. I should probably pay more attention to my YT analytics but I always feel that if I make my videos based upon statistics they will be less ‘me’ and I’m unlikely to enjoy that. :)

@@CosmicToys you don't have to justify anything, I was just interested in how you do it. I deal with alot of small businesses, so know how tough it can be. You really do put out some good content, I enjoy seeing the new and old stuff come in, let's me know about things that I haven't necessarily seen before (such as the street fighter figures this week). I'm a fellow mighty max collector, a very underrated line for me, and actually quite a good cartoon back in the day. I can't wait to come to the shop when I am back up that way, unfortunately I can't travel much at the moment due to health issues. Anyway pal, a massive thumbs up, and good luck for the future, you are in a group of people (like slimehouse), that deserve far more views than you get.

@@CosmicToys you are welcome, and I've met you in person a couple times and confirm that you are a decent guy in person and not just for the camera. I've always fancied the Godzilla mighty max type heads, I have the shell for one but no filling! I bet that you would have had them at one point with that mammoth Godzilla collection you got. Other big want is the Wallace and gromit heads like mighty max (blue bird) but people want silly money for those.

@@davidhandley9007 sorry, I meant to add to the last comment that I hope your health improves too. I must have thought it but not actually typed it… That Godzilla collection had EVERY one of the micro play sets and my biggest regret of that collection is that I didn’t keep them hahaha. As soon as the investment was returned though I did pull the remaining sets from sale haha. At that point I found some unboxed ones including the ultra rare Spacegodzilla one! Sadly it is missing a piece or two but just having it knowing how rare it is makes me happy :) As for the Wallace and Gromit sets, I have the Gromit one but haven’t checked if it is complete yet and it surprises me how expensive they have become too, I remember them been incredibly common… Oh, thanks again, that’s really kind of you to say! When you see me again you will have to let me know it’s who you are so I can put a face to the name :)
