Mighty Pacific Locomotives - The Yorkshire Dales Model Railway As always, thanks for watching. You can support my channel here: / mouldyraspberry You can contact me at: Mouldyraspberry@gmail.com
There's a strong yearning to turn back the clock of time to a simpler and slower world with many of these model railways. The model detailing and photography here is stunning, and I don't how to describe the work you must have put in!
This video begs the question why buy sound fitted steam locos when the compressed sound they give out is a world away from what they really sounded like this? You and Neville Grove show this expertly with perfect synching. Scenery, weathering and attention to detail is truly mesmerising. Manufactures should let you use their new releases free to demo them. Well done keep it up.
Aaah😅 the delightful english countryside layout is here again to make our day. Lovely introductory stills, the guys on the barge, is new, or was it there😊 i really didnt see that before, lol also a high up angle downwrds on train as it moves away into tunnel. The isolated lady at Ponden must have been peeved off, she iswondering if she missed her train to home/ work?😂 seeing the goods consist rumbling through. Otherwise a great delivery as usual. Also loved that eerie silence in beginning just before the passenger service came into view from tunnel at Mistlewaith' signalbox
Agreed John - I saw a full size one derail on Wednesday at my local heritage line! A class 37 had a rescue the train whilst they craned the tender back onto the tracks!
I’ve been lucky enough to work on one of these locomotives in real life. I did an experience day at spa Valley Railway where I got to drive, fire and guard for a day. You really understand how big these engines are when you’re underneath it, coupling up to a carriage.
Looking at the weather here and comparing it to your dales reminds me that before ‘designer’ cagoules we had canvas type material that we had to treat to make them waterproof. So I think that aboard your trains, the visitors would have these old cagoules with old thermos flasks of tea so they had no need for buffet cars. Once again a great video that rattled the old grey cells. Thank you.
Love your model railway, it has a more realistic feel than many others especially the audio. Great job on a fantastic look back at a great time for English rail.
Mighty Pacifics, that really was the title. Tranquil countryside with birds singing hikers walking perfect next to the canal, and then what's that noise coming from the tunnel?? I'm sure I could feel the ground shaking and the noise building, they really were monsters plying there trade. Wonderful story line yet again Lewis, the goods train was full moving its load around the countryside. Wonderful filming, brilliant sound effects, and a fantastic turn around. Thanks Lewis, Eddy xx
Great video, and I haven’t even seen the engine pop out the tunnel yet!! Beauty of an engine, as well….thanks always for your videos, Steve in Minneapolis,Minnesota
A really enjoyable video ,Lewis .Especially the line side shots ,takes me back to my train spotting days ,in Mill Hill London ,that was mainly diesels but still enjoyable .Thankyou keep up the good work .😊
Creative filming and excellent use of sound. I can admit that I would like to see some of your people move from time to time. The man on the coal shovel looks like he may have a sore back, and the man on the switch building may need a bathroom break :) Thanks for your fine efforts. Ronn
Very nice Lewis. I really like the rebuilt Bulleid Pacifics, but that original one you have does look the part, and I can see why people like them so much, they might grow on me I think. I admit I thought all their querky features were something brilliant for the time. Your van train Brittania looks wonderful and so well weathered, it really is a lovely model. Did I spot one of your Accurascale Siphon G vehicles now weathered in the middle of the train. Anyway, such a great pleasure to watch your layout still, even after so much time has passed, always one of the best on here. All the best and happy modelling Dave.
Thanks Dave, always appreciate it. I like the rebuilt versions as well, I remember reading that a lot of drivers thought them the best of the best in BR days. Yes well spotted!
Splendid ! Two of the finest Pacifics of BR : the Bob/West Country class and the Britannia ! I would also have added a Clan Class, but you might not have one on hand...
Even with their sad neutral low-key BR livery, those Merchant Navy units look mightily impressive - all the more on these local sinuous Yorkshire country tracks!❤
The word is Wow! Lovely layout and beautifully captured on the video. Love that the interior of the tunnel is truly dark too. Far too often you can through into a fiddle yard or non-scenic area through a tunnel mouth which is a real spoiler.
Stunning lay-out, always a pleasure to watch, can i just note that 4.52 when the engine is running around, your shunt disc should be yellow and black, not the white and red, sorry dont mean tobe a critic, cant fault your workmanship, keep the vids coming, 👍👍
Lewis, still waiting for your modelling school to open so i can sign up and learn your weathering wizardry ... Hint hint 😂 great video as usual, nice to see both layouts in use, that camera pan over the farm track bridge never gets old
The goods train may be the longest I have seen you run, Lewis. Mighty Pacifics, indeed! Did you suspend yourself from the rafters to get those overhead shots? Hope there is someone else there to get you down if you get stuck!
Only two Pacific steamies running? Very nice, but what about Mallard? She's an LNER A4 Pacific, so she should have been running as well. Please give Mallard a run next time, I'll bet she's crying for another run on your railway.
@@MouldyRaspberry And give the engines faces by buying more some Hornby and Bachmann Thomas train sets, accessories, engines, coaches, freight cars, and cabooses, and Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express to recreate scenes of the movies and cartoons and films.
Just wondering Lewis when the green locomotive at the 5 min 42 sec of the video reverses away from the station should the lamp at the front of the locomotive be moved to the rear of the tender. Enjoyable video. Cheers Greg
