Today we revisit a topic previously covered a while back on this channel. We are going to import a Windows 10 virtual machine from VMware Workstation Player 16 to Proxmox 6.

I had to change CPU 'Type' from the default one to "Host". After that my VM booted up great. Thanks for the video.

If you have 2 file with vmdk extension, one has "flat" in its name and the other one does not and is much smaller. In the command line, do not put the "flat" vmdk file. Also I would recommend to keep the vmdk file names as original because they do have references to each other. If you rename one, maybe the other will not be found.

@@lokzlive2276 Hello, in my case I have 25 .vmdk files. I uploaded all the files in to the Proxmox server and then specified the name of the smallest file in the command (6:49). What also helped me was to leave the BIOS on "SeaBios" instead of "OVMF" as in the video.

With proxmox 8.2, use the import tool that is built into Proxmox. It works like a champion everytime!

Thanks for the video, am getting this error though when doing the qm importdisk : "Use of uninitialized value $parent in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/Storage/Plugin.pm line 898. parent '' includes whitespace" Any ideas?
