Thank you for the video. It was very informative. My only suggestion would be to make a follow up video on a scenario with Active Directory and to demonstrate user rights and how those sync as well.

Good video. Detailed steps. If you could show how to manage the sync (pause, restart, check the speed and bytes transferred) and disconnect it (in a scenario where user will access Azure File directly moving forward), that would be even better.

Great tutorial. Well explained and detailed. Question: I have a very simple scenario like yours, but with very sensitive documents. Any additional security concerns I should take into account? The end result is for a cloud backup of my files from my server but with strict access only from me (in or out of office).

Azure file server can this work with collaboration with word doc similar to Teams/OneDrive with other users?

Is this for archiving or for heavy user access?

Depends on the access tier u use. hot is for frequent access n cool is for archiving

Make sure you have premium storage and express route VPN linked to the storage if you are planning heavy user access. Without direct site to site VPN it's almost unusable due to latency

Good video.. but not everything has been migrated automatically. The file shares were not migrated. What occurred was a data migration into a new fileshare with continuous sync, which is great for a migration. However if you have 100 file shares on the source server, your'e still going to have to recreate those and reconfigure any applications that use them. It seems to me anyway.

This is great for azure storage, but if you have a windows server in Azure with shares on it, I haven't been able to figure out how to access even with the right ports open.

It's not just the firewall on the server u need to configure. U need to also configure the NSG for the Vnet the server is connected to
