14:45 Hakuna laana means "No curse" at least in Kenyan Swahili. Hakuna means No or Without. Laana means curse, witchcraft, spell or what Americans call juju. It has negative connotations in Swahili but it seems to be neutral in Japanese. Any way Hakuna = no/without Laana = curse/spell/juju It's like hakuna matata Hakuna = no Matata = worries

Gege's writing, in my opinion, is hindered by weekly releases. The chapters read so well when you read multiple back-to-back, but when you read one chapter a week every week I feel that most if the impact is lost. The chapters build on eachother like Legos. One Lego is cool, like woop woop, but 30? You can make so much with that!

JJK is suffering from Gege trying to end it and also at the same time not wanting to because he loves Sukuna. This is feeling like the cell games, Sukuna has no reason to not kill them besides from the plot armory “let’s see what you’re made of”. It would be different if it didn’t happen a dozen times already

I don’t think it’ll be a matter of Gojo being more talented thus getting his RCT back faster. Healing soul damage is harder than healing physical wounds and even after getting his output restored, it took Gojo an entire chapter to grow one arm back. Sukuna is missing 3 arms, a heart, suffering from some massive brain damage on top of slowly losing control of his body. Getting his output restored won’t automatically put him back in tip top shape

Honestly I expect there to be characters who are forced to use binding vows giving their lives to cause critical damage. It's established way back during the Shibuya Incident that binding vows are much more powerful when they're backed by your life and that really hasn't come up since. The way I see the next few chapters going is Sukuna gets back either RCT or his domain expansion, leading to somebody dieing, someone else having to use a binding vow to break the domain expansion (possibly with their own) or to re-remove Sukuna's RCT by spending their life, and then somebody else spending their life to critically injure Sukuna with the caviat that it is perminent damage to his soul, reforming his soul with the damage or something and thus the damage is unrecoverable. After all that we'll be back roughly where we are with a few fewer characters, possibly one or two more recovered fighters rejoining the fight or something and Sukuna will be forced to 'take the fight seriously' or whatever and then we'll begin the end game as it were. Also bonus points if Gojo comes back because 'if you wanted him to stay dead you should have cut off his head' or if he secretly made a binding vow to recover or something, Nobara isn't actually dead and somehow uses resonance to attack Sukuna from a safe place while he has to deal with the protagonists (she's not really strong enough to be fielded but maybe one of his severed hands can be useful since who knows her actual range), Todo shows up for like one punch as a last ditch effort because it would be funny, or Sukuna uses his binding vow with Yuji to force him to switch sides for a minute just 'cause Gege wants him to suffer a bit more and I don't remember that vow having a limitation that they have to be sharing a body/a number of uses.

It's SO generous of you to say that the writing is only getting a "bit" stale. Personally, I'm so fuckin sick of Sukuna. He's not remotely interesting anymore; I'm sick of how arrogant and ass-pull powerful he is. Idk about anyone else but I haven't gotten my hopes up about anyone being able to swoop in and end things since Yuta. Like, Kusakabe? Miguel? LaRue? Does Akutami really think any of us were going to buy that?? It might be worthwhile if any of them were doing any noteworthy damage - like if Kusakabe actually managed to slash Sukuna and he actually thought like "ow, dang, this is starting to get harder" and he had any evidence that he was starting to truly weaken, doubt himself, or start to struggle. But it goes beyond this final arc - he's been Shrug-It-Off Sukuna the whole time, so there's never been a point at which we've ever been given any real reason to believe that anyone can stand up to him. Again, idk about anyone else, but even all the way back when Gojo said "nah, I'd win" I immediately was like, "oh, this guy's going to die. That's the kind of villain we've got." Idk what's going through Akutami's head rn. I don't really think he's written himself into a corner - I feel like if he let the damage inflicted by the Kusakabe coalition actually accumulate, he'd have somewhere to go. Or he could easily let any one of the coalition have an ass-pull insane power instead of (or in addition to) Sukuna - it's not like he hasn't done it before. Tbh it's starting to feel like he just... hates his own series. He notoriously has said that he didn't like Gojo, and it's starting to feel like he doesn't like ANY of his characters anymore. Idk it's almost starting to feel almost spiteful at this point

You know what I have a problem with regarding this fight, regarding ALL of these sorcerers, its that they are legitimately counting on Sukuna to be weakened. They are attacking him the way they are now because they believe they have a chance. He "cant" use domain expansion, his RCT is almost gone, he has less than three hands left, and EVERYONE thinks that due to these circumstances, they can win. They are fighting desperately and it seems that the odds are in their favor. Yuji thinking like a cog, sees this as a chance to take him down, to beat him. And thats a huge problem. Cause this is Ryomen Sukuna were talking about. Uraume has seen him fight and she alone states that he still has yet to go all out...and i believe in the next two chapters its most definitely going to be a bloodbath. I personally think Sukuna is simply gauging what his opponents have to offer, if they have hope, how desperately would they fight against him. How would they respond if he reduced his RCT output, what cursed techniques do they possess, which one is interesting, which one is unusual, which one is dangerous. Maki definitely excited him as she had completely abandoned Jujutsu so how does she fare against someone who dedicated their life to Jujutsu. I really believe he is just gauging all of their strength as its a "meal" to him to experience or "taste" all of them. All until hes satisfied. I believe one of these sorcerers, probably Miguel, is going to pick up the fact that he is not taking any of this seriously at all. That hes deliberately not healing himself, not going after any of these sorcerers and just tanking all of their attacks. It was never a close fight, Sukuna was just giving everyone the pretense that it is. And i get it now why Sukuna is so pissed off at Yuji: he just thinks like a cog. Hes playing his part and fighting alongside everyone else. And the only reason that i can conclude why that would frustrate the hell out of Sukuna, is because he believes Yuji has WAY MORE to offer than the rest of them. He just needs the right "motivation". Call it paranoia, but I can see from a mile away that Gege is setting the fandom up for something absolutely catastrophic. Not the merger, Sukuna himself. And i get the feeling as well that hes going to kill everyone just as he said he would, in a ruthless fashion, leaving only Yuji to face him left. Not because he survived the massacre, but because Sukuna still wants Yuji alive. He'll have no one to protect anymore, but just ONE person to destroy. We had a similar set up when Aizen fought the captains, and they all lost. Ichigo was left standing cause Aizen chose to. I wouldnt be suprised if Gege follows the same layout. But, lemme know what you guys think.

My prediction for how Gege's gonna try to wrap it up if he goes a more conventional route is everybody here not named Yuji gets clapped by Sukuna healing to full, Nobara makes a comeback to save Yuji at the last second, she gets a powerup to special grade related to her mentioning "getting close to the source of cursed energy"(or something along those lines, I don't remember when she says it to go check the wording) which we have only heard from very powerful characters previously(iirc Sukuna and Gojo I think?), and her new powerup being soul related will somehow pull Megumi into the mix. Continuing with the conventional thoughtline, I think Megumi gets his body back, but Sukuna pulls out more hacks that (hopefully) fully reveal his technique(s) and allows him to manifest without a vessel(the reasoning for him not doing this earlier was so he could take the 10 Shadows for a spin), and the final battle is Megumi getting some buff from being Sukuna's vessel and understanding open domains better so he uses an open domain Chimera Shadow Garden to counteract Sukuna's domain, and the trio start boxing Sukuna to the death. Minimum 2-3 of them die because lets be real, even if we go the conventional route Gege needs to feed on our happiness at some point. After that we get some wishy washy/depressing reflective monologue from the survivor or, if there isn't one, then Kusakabe or Maki depending on whether he wants to go from the objective yet sympathetic observer standpoint or the leftover character we actually care about perspective. Only thing I am 50/50 on about this route is whether Gojo would play a part since Gege made him sound pretty defeatist in the afterlife. Otherwise I'd say he maybe does a binding vow in his final breath to give his remaining cursed energy/rct(which were just amplified by a black flash) to his students on the condition they all three fight together which would be a reasonably difficult condition for the binding vow. I think it would be a good passing the torch moment while also paying homage to his strength and skill as the students directly feel the power he held along with his faith in them. Doubt this happens though since Gojo's character writing was drug through the mud post-mortem so I don't see Gege taking any kind of mercy at this point.

How is people not loving the sukuna cycle. Bad guy beating down any an all challengers no matter how hard they try or any plan they come up with im loving it. I hope sukuna whoop all of them at once despite his current handicap. An then as he celebrate his victory boom hollow purple. Also the bad guy having plot armor is awesome. An the bad guy beating all plot armor is awesome. Let the story completely unfold before we judge it

No other story has done that before for me, but as life has gotten more busy, and the story has stagnated, I’m not finding myself searching for these as much

It's worth understanding that JJK is a story HEAVILY influenced by Buddhism and specifically the concept of the Samsara Cycle and reincarnation. There are plenty of cycles in the story, Six Eyes Users and Star Plasma Vessels being the main one, which are explored and eventually broken (Toji). So it's not really hugely surprising that the Sukuna fight has taken a somewhat cyclical nature however I think we'll see the cycle broken soon via the return/reincarnation of Gojo and he'll lead the new gen sorcerers to victory over Sukuna. I'm just still unsure how Megumi's story can play out in a way that would be narratively satisfying and make sense though.

I'm enjoying the current chapters a lot. Since the beginning of this arc Sukuna has kinda been positioned as the main character, though we see the events from the good guys' perspective. This reminds me vaguely of, hear me out, Avengers: Infinity War. Big bad guy (Thanos/Sukuna) has been hyped up as a big threat a couple times. They kill a powerful and important character (Gojo/Loki). They are then challenged by several other people who fight them in small groups one after another, trying to stop them from succeeding. Here then comes speculation on what happens next: Right as Thanos/Sukuna come to full power (All infinity stones collected/Black flashes recovering cursed energy) they activate something big that has been teased for a while (the snap/Tengen merger). We then move over to the second stage where truly all of the characters join the fight (something something tengen merger..) and they defeat the big bad by some kind of sacrifice. The end. Probably not gonna go this way, but we'll see.

Sukuna cycle is only annoying waiting week to week. But once this gets animated into 2 or 3 episodes it would look incredible with non-stop fight scenes

I think for me to answer your question at the end of the video its both. I don't think it takes THIS long at this point, but whatever point he is trying to get at is definitly something he is cooking up and making sure that its actually really good. Sukuna's pressence in the story is very aquin to ywhach in bleach, he became a mary su when achieving his goal and being at full strength. And ill tell ya back when I was a much younger lad I used to hate mary su's in anime, but as I grew up and became a writer I began to believe that it wasn't so bad as long as the writer follows this singular rule which is that they make their defeat long and very rewarding for the viewer )Oh yeah and unlke ywhach actually makes sense lol). Cause that way the time we have spent losing against the character doesn't feel pointless. The long and drawn out victory also has to have a point too and it understandably it isn't for everyone which is why most writers who may I agree with me dont do it either because messing anything up after the fact will make the sukuna cycle as we're calling unecessary and for the sake of spectacle and thats stupid obviously. I also think for sure in the idea that the end of this story we will either sacrifice yuji or megumi to get the happy ending. There is no middle ground. Unless gege is a loser and just gives us the bad ending or some shit.
