On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, we are sharing fourth PSA of “Mikan Huttuvaanee Aharen” campaign.
This video spot focuses on violence against women - particularly on intimate partner violence.
The “Maldives Study on Women’s Health and Life Experiences” reports that one in five women aged 15-49, who have ever been in a relationship, have experienced at least some form of physical or sexual violence, or both, during their lifetime.
In addition to this, the cases reported to Family Protection Authority in 2016 reveals that, from a total of 728 victims of (all ages) domestic violence, 558 cases are of female victims. Hence, it is of the utmost importance to empower women and girls to take a stand against domestic violence.
