As a father of daughters, she made me feel the full range of paternal emotion. Pride and awe at her talent, deep sadness at her pain, and the primal urge to destroy the bullies that hurt her. Who would want to harm such a gentle and beautiful soul?

When you're not used to people showing kindness, and someone shows you even small and "insignificant" shreds of kindness, it truly breaks you in the most wonderful way. 💛

She has two friends weeping for her. She’s ahead of most of us…

"I don't really want to waste anyone's time" oh 😟this sweet girl, she's so talented and has such a beautiful voice, I hope she's surrounded by genuine and supportive people now. I wish her the absolute best.

What a beautiful, pure voice, she just doesn’t even realize how great she is!

Wow! I'm a 47 yr old mom, sitting here bawling. It's so heartbreaking that she was so bullied, and has no idea how good she is, how special she is. I'm so so so glad that she got on stage and took a chance... that is a huge move for someone who is not surprised they turned around... but incredibly shocked, and for all of them to turn. Regardless of if she made/makes it, just the reaction of the judges, and the thousands in the stands should be a huge validation for her, the bullies were jealous. You can't teach that talent, but it can be silenced or nurtured... and I'm so glad she chose Delta. She is like a big sister who will be extremely thoughtful and gentle with her support, pushing Mikayla to shine! I love it and I loved her original. It got me, at same place Joe reacted...

As a person who was bullied horribly in grades 7/8, this one really hit home and right in the feels. What a great voice, and her pain, vulnerability and emotion really shine through in her audition. This was fantastic....

So innocently captivating, so genuine, so authentically beautiful. She let her soul open up and spill out for all of us to see. What a gift she gave us.

Perhaps unlike most 53-year-old males, I appreciate letting my emotion take its course. Any time I feel like a good old cry I watch this video. The combination of this beautiful fragile soul, and her amazing voice brings out the tears and the smile at the same time.

This was years ago, and it is one of those auditions i simply can´t forget. Her beauty, her eyes, her voice. She is that type of girl i just want to hug. That moment when she is so deeply touched after singing her original that she starts to cry shows me that she is not used to experience kindness.

What I really dig about the Voice Australia is how the coaches just all seem like they genuinely care for the person & want them to succeed no matter who's team they are on.
