Tbh i really dislike Mikayla. Like undisclosed sponsorships etc. there is so much to hate on her for. But the Matthew situation ain’t it. Also social media is her job. Ofc she wants to be paid for her job. He isn’t giving his product away for free is he? No didn’t think so. BUT being a liar about it etc etc now that’s a whole other problem: When you do a sponsored post you must disclose it. Even if you don’t think about it trough the criminal justice system aka laws. But ethically and also a business move. I mean you look shady af and it will hurt your bottom dollars But doing a sponsored post by itself is not a problem and being paid for a review is a given. Everybody wants to be paid for their job. BUT you have to be honest about it and not lie!
I am. I am too busy. I am the sole caretaker to my elderly grandparent. I literally don’t have time to pee or eat myself and have peed my pants because I didn’t have time to pee. So some people absolutely are too busy. Don’t get it twisted.

Yes it is a business deal after all. She get's send stuff for free to give a review. And if SHE contacted him, it is literally her job to talk about it. She gave the promise, which is why she got the product in the first place. I bet she wanted to be sneaky about it. It happens all too often with small businesses, they are given false hope, so that the Influencer can get stuff without paying for it, no mentioning nothing. So if the business owner is not that big yet, it get's almost no backlash. Some Influencers are such entitled little brats.
Right?!! Didn’t she only get popular because of her extreme makeup transformation of covering her acne? She was like western Tik tok version of those extreme Chinese makeup transformation videos. So people “trust” her because it look like she knew what she was doing when they started wearing makeup again after the shut down.

What's crazy is that it is one day, and it could happen anytime now, her skin will betray her by breaking out so badly. Do you wanna know why? She's aggravating her skin with so many different products that pretty soon her body will naturally act up. I've seen it happen to many people who do that to their skin. And it's crazy to the point where they actually need to do a chemical peel or something crazy just to relieve their skin.
Realistically, she's not even using the products. She has her own skincare routine that she probably sticks to. The rest is only for the video and then she takes it off.
I can't get over her super exaggerated eyes. When she's doing that constantly I feel she's not being truthful or genuine. When she's calm and not bugging, she might actually like the product. Could just be bad acting skills too 😂

As a publicist I would NEVER send her a PR pack. It’s a waste of money and product. I’d send packs to micro influencers and spread the reach over a number of influencers rather than outing all my eggs in one basket with mikayla

What I don’t get is why TikTok doesn’t have any rules on the disclosing of paid promotion, of if they do they don’t enforce them cause an undisclosed paid promotion isn’t even considered a violation to them.

I absolutely hate Matthew. I've had to block him due to how insufferable he is. Any time i saw anything about his product, it was because he is complaining about something. Ill never be a Mikayla fan, but god do i hate hearing about this dude. Get over it, and move on already.

How dose Mikayla have any credibility at this point. all she does is do things for attention and money. We need to stop purchasing products from brands that partner with influencers we don’t like. That’s the only way “cancelling” will work in the way we want. It sucks, but corporations only care about where we put our money. So it’s a win to not support influencers and brands that don’t actually care about customers. I’d rather my money go to smaller businesses that make quality products and listen to customers. Popflex is a great example of a brand that absolutely cares about customers, and you can see it in the products they make.
It's like she's kidnapped the products, and videos of her saying she'll do a review are her hostage videos demanding ransom from the friends and family of the makeup.
That guy is such a tool- she doesn’t owe anyone a review. Of course the paid sponsorships take precedent because there are contractual deadlines and obligations that need to be met. Honestly even her mentioning that she wants to review a brand is free promo for them regardless of she follows through. Regardless, she needs to follow FTC guidelines on disclosures- that’s separate from the other issues.
