Known as the "A-Train", Mike Alstott was a runaway frieght train of a runner, knocking over defenders in his wake. Had good agility for a guy his size (6'1", 250 lbs). Won a Super Bowl, was a 6x Pro Bowler, and a 3x All Pro. Scored 71 TD's in his career which led to a lot of "Alstott up the gut" calls.

My favorite power back, A true freak of nature. .I would not want the assignment of tackling that beast. He had speed,power and pure football intelligence. Much respect Mike Alstott 💯
@jefferyroy2566
@jefferyroy2566 9 месяцев назад
I'd pick Earl Campbell for his power and speed, but Alstott was the last true fullback to average over 100 carries per season over his career. Considering he was paired with Warrick Dunn, another underappreciated top-flight runner, all that offense needed was a competent QB like Brad Johnson to win it all. Too bad Dunn was unable to share in the fun after being sent off to Atlanta after 2001. At least A-Train could celebrate! I wonder how he's doing now? Players who love contact as much as Mike did supposedly have a higher CTE risk. Hope he's one of the lucky ones who doesn't.

I knew a guy in high school was on our team who ran like this. Our coach told us if you don't want to get hit in the back by Q do your assignment and open up that hole or your in for a hurting. Glad he was our team 😊😊😊

Thats some tuff solid advice😄 I seen some of these clips Alstott is tackling his own teammates trying to block for him trucking downfield while being in the middle of a pileup of defenders. INSANe🤯

Mike Alslott was a beast as a powerful fullback who could never be stopped because defensive players refused to tackle him. He had incredible athleticism, size and ability as a 6 foot 1 and 250 pound back.

Before this video, I never heard the stat about Allstott’s touchdown rate per touch being better than Riggins or Csonka. Based on that, combined with how well he played and how many times he carried the ball during the Bucs Super Bowl playoff run, and I think there’s a strong case he belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Mike Alstott literally resembled a fleet footed Bison when he ran. And on the other hand he also resembled the Marvel comic book character The JUGGERNAUT. The man was simply ASTONISHING To watch when he had the ball. His tenacity, BALANCE And acceleration for a man that big was just truly insane.

Back then when I was home and not at work, I would channel surf to find a Tampa game on just to watch him play. He played a different game than most everyone else, it was from his heart, he enjoyed his job to do, no doubts he was going to lay it all out there.

@@billyhndrsn4542 THAT is an excellent description of his style of running. Iron Mike Tyson in his younger days when he was coming up to wage war on his March to the title, had that. Alstott a different sport of course, but had that same mentality and aura about him when he ran!

There was a reason they let Warrick Dunn leave in free agency and kept Mike. They picked up Michael Pittman and did just fine. I met Warrick twice and he was a dick. I met Mike and Warren Sapp, and they were both humble and nice guys. Don't believe what you hear about players until you meet them yourself.
