Loved 'em all, but watching Sierra play such complex and demanding lines and make it look so walk-in-the-park effortless, well, that's seriously something to behold. In awe.
Blessings ... my name is Walter, I live in Jalapa, Guatemala, Central America, I congratulate you for a good work with the video and more for that talent in music, I have a mandolin and MY RESPECT for you
what a cool jam!!!! whooooooooooooooooooo! :) i first met ms. hull in the instrument vendor's tent at merlefest. i worked for rigel mandolins. she was a toddler walking around shutting down jams with her chops lol. she played some crazy solo that left scott vestal looking confused.
They are all fantastic but I am fascinated how someone can play just gliding fingers along the frets while moving positions like that to play single lines, like exclusively and not just for effect. It produces a really cool and unique sound while being so efficient... I saw that and was like "what am I seeing right now". Anyway loved hearing the three of you.
fascinating thing for me was seeing the huge difference in left hand technique. MC is so economical - the hand looks almost robotic; just sliding smoothly up and down the fingerboard and the fingers moving only just enough, the hand never changing shape. Sierra's slender fingers moving around so much more with changing hand shape and CC somewhere between the two. Still, all 3 are super accurate and blindingly fast and able to translate their musical intentions with superb precision. Awesome performance, overwhelmingly brilliant stuff.
@@TheMikeCompton literally weathering all trials.Last year was tough in every way.... trying to stay inspired. Thanks Tater. Take care and take my love.
What an inspiration to those like myself who so desire to be talented in the way you are! I don't know if I can improve enough at 61 to get 1/2 way to this quality. Great!
Mike likes to glide on the strings, so he is not pressing down very hard and may be using a pick that has a large bevel which ideal for that kind of tremeloing.
COMPTON IS THE ONLY ONE WHO PLAYED THE MELODY, AS MONROE WROTE IT, THRUOUT HIS SOLO. YOU KNEW WHAT TUNE HE PLAYING NO MATTER WHERE YOU CAME IN DURING THAT SOLO.
Somebody is trying to go to fast rather than staying with the groove.I understand rawhide is meant to push your limits and Lord knows Bill Monroe did it all the time ,…push the limits.Of course, they are all great. I’ enjoy the contrast of Sierra’s slender long fingers and that fellow in the middle ,with his chubby fingers; and short.
