Tom Karen also designed the Raleigh Chopper and the Reliant Scimitar GTE, he is a very smart gentleman.

He also had a very talented team about him, one of whom I worked with for twenty five years, Ray Innes is sadly no longer with us but we discussed his time as a designer at both Radfords and Relient. The original idea for the bug came from an in house student project, which at its end was developed by Ray Innes and his in house group, as with everything in design the initial pretty picture is just the start.

I have always loved to own a Bond Bug when I first saw it in the 70s; I finally bought one from Airfix.

I always liked the bug and thought it was full of individuality, and it never surprises me that cars nowadays have no character and are always much too big.
