My dad road raced and ran the TT He taught me to ride on a Triumph Cub 200 in 1964. He drummed something into my head i never forgot and it stood me in good stead: -dress for the crash not the fancy bash -if you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet. Otherwise wear the best you can afford. My last bike was a BKing that was modded and geared for 365 kmh. Being an ex power and weightlifter, i was too big to get out the wind with the mini fairing and it got hectic at 316kmh on the gps....... Had a few offs as well as a head on with a Jaguar at 140kmh..... thats when you realise the saying "its not the fall but the sudden stop that hurts......" Wish i still had my last bike.....

In fact, the PoPo used to sit with a photo radar van right at the end of the straightaways, and the punk kids we were back then would bend our license plates up, and blow by him at...well, going to jail speeds, SO many times. I finally gave up and got a 2TB flash drive to use on my laptop and desk computers. I keep most of the frequently used files on the flash drive and move it between the computers. Works great because like you I move around a lot. The flash drive goes on my key ring that is always in my pocket unless I am using it.

As a CT technician I got my own box, and I don't mind lending tools to others, but the rule is if you need to borrow it more than twice, you need to buy it for yourself. Got over 40 grand into my box, and that's without any real specialty tools
