@@MikeandGinger If you want to hear a real bad-ass Floor, in a live song where she goes from growling to opera, try Revamp - Disdain Live at Graspop. This was her own band right before she joined Nightwish.
"Marco sounds different in this one" Me: that's not Marco growling😄😄 Can't wait for more. Sounds like someone has fallen hard down the rabbit hole. No worries. We are all right there too
Well Marco and Floor just kill it with this one. Floor isn't bada$$ enough, she is the one doing the Death Growls in this song!!! There is nothing this woman can't do except give a bad performance and this band is always flawless on stage. Great reaction and really looking forward to a new DVD, sadly it will have to hold us until next year when hopefully concerts can return!!
They didn't release this show as a DVD, they released others with a bigger production. Nice first reaction, quite like mine. They always make me happy too. A big hug from Brazil.
I think yle, the Finnish Broadcating Company, broadcasted about 1 hour of this concert...which did have great sound. The Poet and the Penduluum from this show is on the Extra DVD from Vehicle of Spirit with a lot of other one off versions from different shows. So hopefully, since they recorded stuff at a lot of other locations, like Vancouver, as well, there will be more to come :)
To add to that: I believe they shot multiple concerts on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour and then decided after the fact which they were going to use for the Vehicle of Spirit BD/DVD. Wembley Arena in London and Tampere were the ones chosen to be featured. Some individual song performances from other concerts were included in the extras, but this isn't one of them.
@@MorusRubra Yes, more videos are coming from them. I assume that from 2015, but sure I can't be. As already mentioned here, they filmed in several places, so the film footage is probably to be found. Tuomas said that he and Ville (Ville Lipiäinen, director) dug old archives - videos that have not been used in published DVDs. Tuomas said that more is coming little by little, because when you can’t get on tour, something has to be done! Hopefully there will be videos from some year other than 2015! But everything is fine for me!
@@MikeandGinger Can you please do "Shudder Before the Beautiful" next? It's live from Wembley Arena: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7oQ8sNSYXmQ.html
@@MikeandGinger And please, "Tides of Time" by Epica: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sn765tJuaoE.html Ginger will love Simone's operatic vocals :)
You were the first ones to react to this video. At least one reaction was promised right away, but your is the first posted. This one was found in Ville Lipiäinen's archives. He has directed a lot of Nightwish videos, live or official music videos. Tuomas promised there will be more to come from Ville's chest of wonders.
I lived in Mexico City for 2 years and the high point was being at that concert. Center stage row 7. That was at the Teatro Metropolitano, an amazing venue with great acoustics. So glad to see videos from this show coming out.
So many reactors miss that it is Floor doing the Growling... I guess it is hard to believe such an angelic siren could produce such a different sound, Oh well have fun watching it again and being blown away I guess. See you next reaction. ;)
I discovered Nightwish and Floor 11 months ago and my music world has been turned upside down and inside out. Now, one of my most favourite things to do is watch and listen to others reacting to this phenomenal group of musicians especially for the first time. Thank you for a wonderful reaction. Paul - Nightwish Army England UK. 🙏😊👍
I watched this Mexico version when it showed up this morning.... looked like the band were enjoying playing it... and yes Floor was growling along with Marco's cleaner vocal hence why Marco sounded so different :D
Nice one, and good on you for jumping on the new video! In case it wasn't clear, during the chorus, Marco is singing normally: the low bass growl is Floor. Yep, she can do that too... Marco has said that he loves singing with Floor because he can go 100% with zero chance of drowning her out. :-)
Oh my damn... This woman is not mortal... when she turned into a siren I dropped to my knees sobbing... how can one so unearthly walk amongst us???? If ever we needed proof that Valkyrie's are real this is it... im going in again!
Ominous and your Doomed, great observation guys..... lol. Growling like a Beast from Hell and then the voice of a Siren. Ominous indeed. That is why she is the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal. No one can do what she can and also her stage presence is of the charts. Also her stamina is .... wow.
Thanks guy's. I have their "Vehicle of Spirit" DVD set. It has the Tampere and Wembley concerts. Released by Nuclear blast records 2016. Very well produced.
Guys time for you to react the song THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (21 minutes) by them. It's their longest song ever written and it's about the evolution of life. Look for the live version in Tampere, Finland.
@@MikeandGinger That would be great. We assure you that the song will blow your mind from start to finish. Also, the song had a short narration by Richard Dawkins. Here's the link. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-45brzDJKZ3o.html
Great reaction. You got bits you missed bits, meh who cares. I presume this will not be the last time you hear this. (Yes, Wembley is a goodie too) It always takes me a number of listens to get a fraction of what they throw into the songs. Don't let people put you off experimenting with 'other versions' to a song. Choose the one you like, listen to the other later It will all come together in time.(There are no really bad official versions of anything) Keep it natural and real and I'll appreciate it far more than the constant fawning and worshipping that some reactors may be prone to.
While i do like this one from Mexico City, its easier to hear Floors growl in the one from Wembley. Saw someone suggested Shudder before the beautiful next, i second that. Great opener from Wembley!
And yes, the "Rock in Rio" video of this song has the best concluding growl by Floor that I've seen so far. Tampere would be #2, but the RinR video is a closeup.
Hello Ginger & Mike. Great reaction, even if the audio mix + visuals on this one didn't help you recognize who was growling... but don't worry: it's NOT a big deal. It just happened...🤷 The most important thing (even if some Childish/Grumpy Fan commented otherwise...🤦) is your love for Nightwish and I think that yours is totally UNDENIABLE. Congrats for being the first channel to react to this release and happy birthday to Ginger for tomorrow. Ps: if you're going to react to "The Greatest Show on Earth" as a B-day present, I vote for the Tampere version. *Tips* : captions turned on for better comprehension (it's more a history lesson than a song...😅) and watch it *TILL THE END OF THE VIDEO* because in between the credits there's a surprise...😉😉😉 👋🇮🇹🖖
Thank you, my friend! It is actually now today that is my birthday! I am disappointed that we missed the growling, but since I’m old now, I shall claim that my hearing is going as my excuse 😜 We do, absolutely love this band. ❤️ Stay cool 🤜🏻🤛🏻 - G
@@MikeandGinger oh, come on! You're not deaf and definitively NOT old! As I said before, it's just this video that's not the state of the art: just a random footage retrieved in some ancient desk, probably published because of the lack of new material due to the pandemic stasis... Anyway, buon compleanno Ginger!🍾 Ps: I live in the Alps, so staying "cool" is daily routine... 🏔❄😅❄🏔 👋🇮🇹🖖
I was so disappointed you guys didn't catch it was Floor growling. That's always my favorite part of reactions to this song. But it's ok, I still love you two and keep em coming!
Every time Floor growls, I thought they'd both notice. And every time I thought oh my god again not. It almost caused me physical pain. 😁 Well maybe in future videos. Although I can't think of one straight away where she does it again like here.
@Coyote - Go to channel erwinraaben55 and watch the 53 seconds long video 'Nightwish Floor Jansen Yours Is An Empty Hope Final Growl' to the end. I don't think there's a better recording of it anywhere! Stay safe. All the best to you.
I didn't know it was Floor growling until I read the comments! (I kinda suspected it though haha) They make an awesome combo, I hope I can catch Nightwish live at some point. You should check out Tantibus II by Scardust (there's a live version too!) Their singer Noa has an amazing voice and incredible control over it, it's a good listen :)
Yeah, as I was listening, I was having a hard time distinguishing who was doing what. I know some people are disappointed we didn't figure it out, but sometimes that happens on a first listen to a song you don't know, especially when it's not a studio recording. -M
You need some dark songs just like real life. It makes the happier songs feel that much better. No light without darkness. Loved your video my friends. Peace.
And she has small daugter ( 3-4 now) - if my mom would have said to in my teens me to clean my room whit that voice - I'd done it many yrs without second command LOLL😂 🤣 Yes - She is rock mom!
Nightwish doing a Rammstein / Maiden -ish bit. Love Floor and Marco in this mode. Can't avoid the impression this is one of the songs that must remind Floor of her After Forever life.
*Sorry, but this sound so NOT like Rammstein, 'cuz there are too many genious melodies á la Holopainen in the song. This is at least 5 levels above Rammstein...*
@@NicholasCorvin Sorry dude. Just indicating it gave a similar vibe in my veins. And speaking of melodious metal ... when are those reactions to The Gathering / Anneke van Giersbergen vids coming? I know the NIghtwish army can be a bit overwhelming and Nightwish material and popularity sure convincing ... ;)
*Try Nightwish : "Romanticide" [Live Wacken 2013](if you want something hard again), and if not try "Amaranth" [still the most successful single of Nightwish], but please try both versions [Official Music Video (with 2nd female vocalist Anette Olzon from Sweden) and the Live@Wacken 2013 -- version with Floor (The Valkyrie Goddess is the successorceress....eh, I meant successor of Anette as the female vocalist of Nightwish.)] Greetings from the south of Germany & keep rockin' !!*
"Marko sounds different today", I don't know about that but especially Floor sounds different in this song, she is growling all the time😁 And killing spiders (in your home) brings bad luck... it is said to be scientifically proven.
Edge of my seat on every chorus, waiting for the looks of revelation... Nope :( Still, although this mix isn't the best, it's an official video and it's my favourite song by my favourite band.
