one problem with the new show inmy mind mtv's headbangers ball and beavis and butthead went hand and hand with each other back in the day and i dont think the musical aspect of the show will be as good as it was before cuz of how shity popular music has become. then again it will be easy for them to make fun of the music vids... but todays pop culture will defiantly effect the show cuz were not in the 90s no more and comedy has deffinetly been dumbed down since then but sure will stil b great
Nah, considering how commercial MTV has become, probably they'll put Beavis and Butthead to "like" their sponsored stuff like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore or other stuff that channel have paid money to make famous, or just don't even talk about it, just insult other stuff that doesn't give them money or affects their rating.
guys, don't worry B&B will be fucking amazing. if you hate modern MTV, good - B&B are making fun of jersey shore/16 and pregnant. Mike Judge knows what he's doing - it wont only be shitty reality shows that these two will watch, they're watching movies and music videos too. chill out and enjoy the brilliance of awesome TV coming back, it's not often that it happens
Although I enjoyed the new season, I feel like they went overboard on the reality shows. While they maybe making fun of it, I feel they're also using it as a tool to promote these shows. I'd like to see more actual GOOD music videos again, especially metal ones, and less Jersey Shore.
Looks like MTV's at least starting to get better, first with Death Valley and the return of Beavis and Butthead will put the icing on the cake. Now they just need to start playing music videos again and bring back Headbanger's Ball! Not to mention taking off the gay shows.
@almost2eazy I know right? I've always thought that blaming TV shows for their children's behavior is just a cop-out for irresponsible parents. I watched almost every single episode as a kid, and was a straight A student. So, it's definitely not the show that encourages bad behavior.
@RockyBalboa7777 They didn't really trash the artist themselves. They only made stupid comments about the video not the music. Back in the day if something sucked like Winger or Journey they said it sucked an ripped on the music BADD.

@Anthony123132 They've ripped on plenty more genres than just rock. Rock, rap, pop, whatever. They did it ALL, man. Believe me, I was there. And by "there" I mean I watched the original back in the 90s. So your wish still has a chance.
That has to be difficult for Mike Judge, his actual voice sounds almost just like Butthead. I just can't take him seriously, im waiting for him to just say a Butthead catch phrase. "Hey baby, have you ever been with a real man before, uh huh huh huh."
@DMANDUSTYN actually Doctor Who is fuckin smart, same with Torchwood. but other than that, those are british shows so, i still agree... i can't fucking wait!!! and i hope that the show helps make the world a better place like it used to be
It's so brilliant that the segments of Beavis and Butthead watching MTV and bashing stuff will consist of the dumb shows MTV has now instead of videos. It perfectly parodies what that channel has become.
LOVE that he can get beavis and butthead to bag on other MTV shows on his own show. so fucking smart. an mtv show, that makes fun of mtv shows. finally bringing back huge audience that stopped watching mtv cuz mtv SUCKS
its awesome to see the creator of beavis and butthead is super level headed and doesn't want to cater to the new mtv audiance, if he had to write for the jersey shore then the show would suck!
I love the Jersey Shore being in there, those people just aren't made fun of enough, and couldn't be made fun of enough. At least it's a step in the right direction. What I've seen so far is hilarious.
The only thing that sucked when B & B ended was that boy bands and techno dance music has come along since it being gone. Beavis and Butthead would have destroyed Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.
i think its funny that when we were younger watching this show...our parents hated it and when it was cancelled it was like "god answering their prayers" surprise parents!!! ITS BACK!!! hahaha
wow, its amazing but at the same time, not surprising, to see how most ppl feel about MTV today. First time I'll be watching it again when B/B return for the first time in over a decade.

I hope they don't cancel the show, especially early. Most good shows these days get booted for no fucking reason. I'd watch this over anything else they have to offer.
King of the hill was pretty genius, the mannerisms and depictions of an average american, the plurality and flaws with in the almighty white man. You got to love that shit.
The decision to critique MTV programming instead of promo videos is due to rights issues. MTV can now release the new season on DVD/Blu-ray without paying licensing fees.

I have a question for you Mr. Judge! Why the fuck is Beavis's voiced different?! HE hardly sounds anything like he used to. Seasons 3-7 Beavis's voice was perfect.
I really hope they criticize some of the newer music videos. To me, besides the stupid shit that B & B have done, the music videos are what made the show as funny as it was. The timing was dead on and even if the artists were great they would still find a way to make it hilarious. Having them bash on Jersey Shore and 16 & pregnant is good to, but its going to get real old after a while if that's all they are going to do. Besides that don't you think they play that god awful shit enough on MTV?

@animagreed absolutely--his face even seems to morph more and more into looking exactly like Butt Head as time passes--watch him on Letterman in 93--there was a slight resemblance, i didn't even notice back then--now it's freaking uncanny...
I'm glad they're back, but they are too smart now..I remember in their original stint, Mike said how he had to throw away many jokes because they were too smart sounding...I think the characters worked better that way.
god, I said it before and will say it again, Beavis and Butthead is one of the greatest cartoon shows ever, but this man, when he's not doing the voices, is just plain boring to watch or listen to
