To the Leach Family, so sorry for your loss. I have heard all 3 of my sons talk about their love for Mike Leach at TT. Very sad to know the world lost such a great person who really knew what mattered.

Who has followed Texas Tech, Washington State, and Mississippi State football for the past 15 years? I did! And it was because of Mike Leach my most favorited college football coach of all time. And I am deeply saddened by his passing. Rest in Peace Mad Genius.
I'm a diehard Bama fan but I came here to check out Mike Leach after hearing about his heart attack today. I wish I had learned about him before now. He seems like a quirky, yet down to earth guy. Mike leach changed football more than anyone has since its creation. He's the reason everyone started using 4 wideouts and throwing the ball around like football does now. As a Miss State fan I know of every coach that has coached in the SEC my entire life. This typical Alabama "diehard" fan has never heard of one of the most popular names in college football but his team has player against this coach for the last 3 years. I can't relate to that at all. Alabama fans annoy the hell out of other fan bases. You can smell their arrogance from miles away.

Was a wizard at Tech too. Now what he's done with Menshew and co. there will be many many dark horse QB's and WR's who will consider the cougars. I'm a Clemson fan but the cougs are secretly my favorite team to watch.

I am sure Coach Leach touched many lives and his spirit will be felt thru the lives of people he motivated. The world needs 10000 More Mike Leachs- He was a true Good Coach and person. RIP and God Bless his family and his players.

I always loved to hear Mike having a conversation with someone. He had enough intelligence that he didnt feel the need to show how smart he was. It wouid eventually come out to all that listened to him. I had an emense amount.of respect for him.
I consider myself very lucky. I was in Lubbock for the entirety of Leach's tenure and it was glorious. The Crabtree game is the greatest sporting event in the history of the world. He REVOLUTIONIZED offenses. Look at his coaching tree: OU Riley, TT kingsbury, WVU holgersen TCU OC cumbie and more. All this success brought down by a lying little weasel. I think some in the TTU administration became jealous of him. I also wonder if his being a Mormon had something to do with it too (re: the guy that has a chapel on campus bearing his name). Made me a lukewarm Tech fan at best.

Mike Leach was the best thing to happen to Tech athletics since 1923, and that piece of shit Kent Hance didn't like that Kent Hance wasn't the most famous person associated with Tech. It was disgraceful and I, as an alum, hope the program remains cursed until they make it right with Leach, apologizing for how he was treated and paying him the money they owe him, with interest. I also agree with what Coach Leach allegedly told Hance one fateful day in 2009, "Fuck you Kent Hance!"
Man i wish Miami would have hired Leach. Guy loves the keys and he would bring back that nasty old school miami swag. With the athletes down here we would be the greatest show on turf. I live in the keys and i have met leach he is a good guy.
