The truth is 31 teams will be disappointed this year regardless of their salary cap issues (good or bad) and their FA acquisitions. I think this interview was great. Mike was very honest and even threw a few jabs at Dan Quinn rightfully so.

Man I don't know how to feel about this season, I do believe that Cowboys will draft very good, they always have. It's just the level of competition during the season in the NFC, we're still not better then the 49ers and eagles on paper look better to with the new additions. We can only hope guys like mazi smith and overshown can step it up and the return of diggs.

Mike McCarthy said when he first got here that he rather have drafted youth than vets because vets are already set in their ways. The youth haven't developed anything yet, so it's easier to coach them to your ways. I know I had long sentences and everything else. I just care about making my point rather than making a. It ain't going to happen with how bad your team is in with you not having any particular type of weapons or you ain't going to have nothing that the 32 teams in the NFL have so it ain't no way that Dallas is going to be able to do anything this year

The Jones' have committed to not extending Dak and we are eating a lot of his cap money in 2024. We will be free of that $59.5M under the CAP next year without Dak. Right now on offense we have lost our starting Center, RT, and #3 WR. There are lots of holes to fill there. TJ Bass and Hoffman will have to step up. I expect us to draft a RT at #24 in the draft. We will also very likely draft a RB in the 3rd round of the draft. On defense we have lost 3 DL (who played in the rotation) as well as LVE. Time for S Williams and Mazi to play big. I expect us to get help on the DL. With LVE retiring we got an upgrade with E Kendricks. I hope Overshawn is ready to go. Lastly I hope Diggs can be ready to go. I expect a lot of depth to be signed to this 2024 from undrafted players. 2025 the team will be out from under Dak's salary and will be able to do a lot more.
