@@Wonderhussy The helicopter cover. He was learning to fly a Bell 47. ABBA shot the Arrival cover in one. There’s a mock-up in the ABBA museum in Stockholm. That my theory anyway.
@@Wonderhussy .. read somewhere that he had been asked by the record company to put something on the album that had more general/popular appeal...(hence both Wonderful Land and Arrival ??) Or possibly he just liked the melancholy in the music and wanted to do his own (great) version ! QE2 was the first MO album I bought and so is still one of my favourites..
I am shocked. I always automatically assumed that ABBA covered Mike Oldfield, because MO is a genius who produces the highest level of art, while ABBA produced nice popular tunes. But it is true. Chapeau for ABBA !
Still haven't. They string-synced and lip synced in this video to the studio album which is a shame because Mike is truly talented and a raw live performance would have been more pleasing than just the studio recording.
If I recall correctly, that was his record company that made him play the studio album anytime he did a show performance like this, rather than playing it raw and live.
