2 is definitely the best Bells! Modern enough to be timeless and fulfill it's potential, whilst staying true to the atmosphere of the original. 3 departed from the spirit of the piece imo.

There are never 2 versions of Tubular bells the same. I found one from the BBC 73, Montruex 1980 and this one. Each completely different.

It's a cool tune -- but it kinda seems like he only wrote one piece, and spent the rest of his life performing variations on it.

Sorry but this is not "Tubular Bells", where are they?, gonna go as far as to say it's awful and not what i remember
