Mike, you said this a couple live streams ago and I was right there with you: Where you said you haven’t ever hated Kendrick but you fully realize now how you haven’t given him the proper respect he deserves. So not only did Kendrick lower our view of Drake, he also convicted us to appreciate him more if we are gonna call ourselves Rap fans. The embodiment of winning a Rap Battle 😇
Brooo. I remember when I first listened to Kendrick GKMC songs and started digging his past projects, like OD, Section 80, Black Hippy mixtape, C4, and the features compilations. Watching this video gave such a nostalgia feeling. As a Kendrick stan I'm definitely jealous of you listening to his songs for the first time
Source for the actual reference tracks? Only leaked I found is for a song called "16" and some random Twitter account claiming that Kendrick wrote Jay's verse. Nothing proven
Yo, Mike P, been watching your battles for a hella long time. Respect OG 🙏 Found your channel during the KDot and Drake beef, immediately subscribed!! Favorite part of this whole stream, genuinely touched my heart, was when your daughter came in during, "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" and you picked her up and held her. Father of 3 here. My oldest boy is 10 and freestyles with me every year on his bday and new years!!! He is performing "Not Like Us" at his elementary school talent show next week. 🤣🤣 Love it man!! Great battler, amazing father!! Salute man!!
Good Kid Maad City is easily one of the greatest works of hip hop art in existence. Everybody who enjoys or listens to rap and hip hop should have to listen to this at least once. The storytelling in this album is incredible. Takes you right to Compton and leads you down a dark rabbit hole.
I was fully immersed in this stream & on twitch 🔥 shit was Lit. Before you start the next album i would do atleast 3-4 Kendrick loosies. Like his control verse which arguably started his tension with Drake due to his sensitive reaction to it. Followed by Kendrick's BET cypher verse. Also thinking u should react to his "Heart" series. So important when it comes to truly understanding Kendrick. Also tracks like "Cartoons & Cereal" ft. Gunplay, "Westside, right on time" ft Young Jeezy, "Collect calls" are phenomenal Kendrick songs loved by his fans & those songs were supposed to be on GKMC but didnt make the cut. Kendrick still performed these songs live because those are highly favored tracks by his fan base.
I been listening to Kendrick since he first started. He caught my attention like no other rapper since PAC. I remember when I first heard him I said he is like a modern day PAC. Been a fan every since. Can’t wait until you hear Mr morale and the big steppers. Especially Mother I sober. It will make you look at Drake differently
I can’t wait for you to listen to mr morale dawg as someone who is a fan of you as a battler (saw you in person vs Danny in Tampa) I gotta feeling that will be your favorite album
Gkmc got some of the best bonus tracks on any album imo, the whole thing is straight fire. Also the interludes are so important in this album, he tells most of the story through them very well
Yo you gotta also go through his series The Heart Parts 1-5 his lead tracks that precede his albums. They're his best works some of them. The heart part 2 will make you feel something for sure
@Mike, the same people who told you Kendrick would shit on Drake before he made you believe it are the same people who are telling you pusha did and would still do the same to drake. Maybe you need to do a deep dive into Pusha's discography too 🤷🏾♂️
If you were just starting to write an rap I get why you wouldn’t listen to Albums. When I started I did the same shit not wanting to be influenced by newer rappers.
Dawg I'm hella shock you're catching up this much to Kendrick body of work. Your ass need to go watch Back Seat Freestyle video hahahaha without wifey around 😅
Take Care has the most replay ability and catchy songs but GKMC is the better album with the better concept and easily! Both classics in their own regards in my opinion.
8:13 how to say I’m from New York without saying I’m from New York! I’m a hip hop historian that like Drake there is multiple proof that Drake isn’t hip hop! But being from New York you only know and do as your told!!! 🐑 but you’re a great rapper though I hope you write your own stuff
