I like to see them guess the first few seconds of all the songs that start with total silence like Echoes, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Time, Speak To Me, Astronomy Domine, Sheep, etc.
With all the crap on RU-vid to waste time watching because your brain says "click it", a video like this is so appreciated and refreshing. You feel like your sitting across the table with them, having a genuinely fun time with friends. Mike is so smart he could probably tell you the thread count of that tablecloth by just putting his ear up to it! Thoroughly enjoyed this vid!! And the comment section is just as friendly. Don't see that much either!
Loved watching this,would love to have a match with Mike,think I'd make a good contender,must have listened to (almost)every Beatles song hundreds of times.Its good to see someone as obsessed with them as me haha.
Neal, and Mike, of should I say MIKE, and Neal... I almost never, never, never post a commend on RU-vid but I am really amazed!! Even tenth of seconds seems to be enough to know, the Beatles. What i like about Portnoy is that he is a true fan of music. You see a TON of musicians who are like " i dont really listen to anything". They have a few influences but thats it. Portnoy knows his shit.
In think Mike got his facts mixed regarding the Love version of 'Because'. It's an acapella version, but the backwards thing is likely from a Lennon story about him hearing Yoko playing Beethoven's 'Midnight Sonata' and then asking her to play the chords backwards, thus giving him inspiration for the structure of 'Because'. Anyway: Fab video, I can't believe how fast they're getting some of these songs!
