@@MetalGodMasino Mangini uses Lombardo as a sweat rag bro… you obviously don’t know Mangini has the single stroke roll record, is a killer independent limb drummer and id even go as to say he has an edge over Virgil Donati. Lambardo is just another basic metal drummer. He’s good. But no where on these guys level.
I was sad Mike left DT, but Mike did an admirable job filling in. Although I'm sad Mike decided to part ways with the band, I'm overjoyed Mike is back!
Great to see my alltime drum idol back in where I was first introduced to his drumming sound. Mike was such a big inspiration to me in my youth to start playing drums. Looking forward to seeing Dream Theater live as soon as possible
I remember 24 years ago going into a music store and the drum section was playing dream theater on the monitor and I walked out of there a different person.

When i see Mike Portnoy, I see his playing touched and inspired by some of the best drummers in Rock, namely Neil Peart. I grew up with Rush and Neil was an inspiration. Today its Mike Portnoy.Whatever Mike touches in music becomes great because what he delivers.
Mike is one of the most passionate drummers I've ever met. Definitely unique. And a lot of fun on his free time. Been able to hang out with him several times. Loves his coffee!

I am happy you are back Mr. Portnoy but sad Mr. Mangini is gone. Weird, but there it is. Your DT legacy cannot be denied. Mike Mangini’s legacy with DT has been carved out and cannot be denied. He was a faithful soldier of DT. To hear you live again with DT will be special but please do some “Mangini Era” songs. You have your own style so put the Portnoy love and personality into them. It will be great ✌️
Tell what you want about any other drummer and pure technical skills, but this man has a way of playing and giving the music an incredible flavor, that is just unique.
Battled alcohol the same years MP took a break in 2010-2023. I decided August 6th would be time to get out of my glass prison, shortly after quitting drinking MP announced his return to DT. 141 days sober, nothing but joy that my hero is back where he belongs. Thank you for being such a lifelong inspiration Mike, what you do matters to us and the music you create changes lives. Now do us all a favor and bring your magic back to the boys in the studio.
