The wrestling world might have lost a really great character but Mike lost his son and there's nothing more heartbreaking than that and i just feel for him so much having to go through that. RIP Windham
I can't imagine being a father as a wrestler having a son looking up to you as a little boy that would grow up to follow your path then for him to pass away is really heart breaking. My condolences goes out to the whole family and collieges that worked with Windham. R.I.P. Bray.
@@shawnmichaels4805 yeah I totally agree and according to his peers Mike rotunda just like Bray is another guy who not many people had bad word to say about and he was always a stand up guy and respected. So for him to have to deal with that pain is really sad

Great colleague, great friend, great father, great husband….just an all around great guy, who was fortunate to do what he loved for a living & stays humble & appreciative.

Sorry for your loss dude, my Dad is my best friend so I understand where you’re coming from. But I just wanted to write something to maybe help you out a little. I lost my Mom to cancer when I was only 16. I’m 40 now but still miss her Thing is though, losing parents is basically part of life for everyone. Almost all people have their Mom & Dad pass away before they do. Losing a child however is not really “part of life” per se. Parents passing away first is the natural order of things. For a parent to outlive their child is not normal, and is likely to be more difficult to overcome / deal with Again I just wanted to provide some perspective that can help you deal with things. Just hold onto all the good memories and think about the things you learned from your Dad, the times you spent together having fun. But unfortunately it’s something we all have to face at some point, so I hope you’re not feeling too alone in your sadness. All the best man
2 other things you NEVER get over, a sibling or a spouse. I lost my wife a year and a half ago and things have been very difficult. I’m not trying to steal the spotlight of your comment or change the subject , I just wanted to add that. Sorry for your loss for your father.
I can't imagine what Mike is going through losing a son. I hope his hall of fame goes well and Windham can be remembered forever. Never heard a bad word about Mike rotunda in any shoot interviews.
@@dhenderson1810 apparently his family were on board but the WWE opted to not do it this year because they just want to give the family abit more time and mike said thats understandable. But he's still getting the documentary that comes out today on peacock and bray would have been so proud of his dad getting inducted this friday

I hope you never feel pain like this. I lost my 3 year old granddaughter Alaina to cancer in 2014 and I can tell you it has changed me and not for the good. I have so much anger towards god. 5 years of guilt for not being able to save her. Suicidal thoughts every day for years. I could go on for hours. My heart goes out to Mike, Taylor, Jojo and all of the Rotunda family- His art and vision truly was an inspiration for me. He truly was captivating and was also an innovator of reinventing himself to when he did his "This is me, being me" promo I felt as he had felt, with that struggle and that WE saved him.... I don't know or doubt he'll see this but if Mike Rotunda does see this THANK YOU for all you've done in your career and THANK YOU for your son- He truly was a gift and a star- larger than life and he absolutely was loved. Thank you Mike.
You can see the pain in Mike's eyes everytime they talked about Windham. I hope his family can find their peace with his passing in the future, I remember how I took the news, and I only knew him through a screen. Couldn't imagine how they reacted or have handled it themselves.
My little brother died seven days after his 15th birthday April 17th 1989 .Its something you never truly get over .Time does heal and talking about what your going through does help.

I’ve never seen anyone that multi talented with his characters as Windham Rotunda since Mick Foley. The creativity he bought for those characters under Bray Wyatt were incredible. What a shame his life was cut short not just his career but more importantly personally for his family. He was indeed a star and he needs to be put in the HOF. My heart goes out to his family.

I was a huge IRS fan back then it tears me up his son who is Windam (Bray) it’s so sad he passed away such a incredible Wwe star Mike gimmick being IRS was a incredible character to I enjoyed his bad character back then now seeing him tear up about his son breaks my heart makes me sad Wwe is more then just a business the wrestlers are incredible people and have a bond of family who are like family I enjoy these people with incredible talent most have passed on it’s still heartbreaking Rest In Peace Bray!🙏

Well deserved induction. God bless you on losing your son. I grew up watching IRS as a young kid. Always loved wrestling. Sometimes I would stop watching then start back up watching again. Bray was the reason I continued watching. We have the memories but I kinda feel like we all got robbed of what could have been with all his great ideas and talent. We all miss you Bray
MIKE is the reason I liked wrestling back on the 80’s. He was the first guy I remembered watching Florida Championship wrestling. Action packed, performances! Thank you Mike! Congrats on the HOF!
The WWE fans may have lost one of its biggest superstars but there is nothing more sad than a parent losing his kid. I can only imagine what Mike Rotunda would feel at WWE HOF ceremony knowing his son Bray Wyatt won't be able to witness it.
I'm a person that loved territories wrestling, 80s, 90 mainstream and I basically lost interest in wrestling once Bret Hart, Eddie, Guerrero and Chris Benoit were gone and Kurt Angle was past his prime. During the lockdown I stumbled across Bray Wyatt and began going through his material. He's the only thing I've enjoyed in wrestling in the last 15 years.
Man my heart breaks for Mike. No parent should outlive their children. Bray was such a star. He worked with the Rock, the Undertaker, Kane..the who’s who of wrestling. These guys wouldn’t work with him if they didn’t think he had the makings of a star. Keep your head up Mike..we all pulling for you. Congrats on your WWE Hall of Fame induction..it’s very well deserved!
Windham was a once in a lifetime talent. He had an old school mentality, and creative mind that would have fit in the era that brought us Kane, The Undertaker, and Mankind, . So talented and had so much more to give. I always was a fan of Mike from his US Express days to his turn as IRS in Money Inc. May God continue to comfort him, JoJo, Taylor, Mika and the rest of the Rotunda family!

Bray is the reason I started watching wrestling again. I could see that he was going to revolutionize wrestling. That he was a rare talent. Sadly we are all at a loss over this. What he did accomplish was epic. Imagine what else he could have done.
His son WAS indeed a star. The Wyatt Family stuff was so unique and really stood out during that era. Then of course his work as the Fiend, man, what a mind that guy had. His impact on pop culture and his accomplishments in WWE will never go way. He was by far my favorite wrestler. Thank you for your son, Mike.
My heart breaks for that family. It was SO unexpected and just gut wrenching to hear that he had passed. The future that was ahead of him was limitless. The WWE was basically his oyster in terms of how far he could have gone. It's a saddening grave reminder that we must NEVER take our lives or life in general for granted. Live everyday to the fullest you that you possibly can. And DO GOOD through helping others less privileged than yourself which will only enrich your own life. If we live our lives like that then we can truly say we lived them fully and properly. My heartfelt prayers go out to the Rotunda family. The legacy Windham left may have been short lived but it was awesome just the same.
A friend of my family actually wrestled against Mike in both high school and college. I can remember when we would watch wrestling and we were told about how tough Mike was and what a great athlete and guy he was. I am sorry for the crippling pain he went though in losing his son. At least getting inducted to the HOF with brother in law and longtime friend Barry Windham was something positive for him to enjoy.
I got chance to see Bray Wyatt wrestle in my town at smackdown live couple years ago on my birthday for my first time he will be missed and never gotten have he's action figure wish he was still here
This was a great interview, remembrance, look back. First off Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham were two of the best. Period. They are true Legends! The NWA, the old style of wrestling was so different than what was about to happen. Barry Windham and Mike Rotunda were so talented that they were able to ride that wave in and they DESERVED IT. I wish that their "spilt" wouldn't have happened. But Mike Rotunda become IRS while not my favorite Mike Rotunda character it was iconic and incredibly cool to watch. During the 70's I was a kid in Milwaukee. I used to watch the AWA's All-Star Wrestling shows with my Mom on Saturdays and Sundays. The Crusher, Baron Von Rachtke, Nick Bockwinkle, and so many other Legends! I wasn't able to see many of the Southern wrestling shows back then but I used to love to read about all of them. Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham were pure old school talents and I loved that. Hearing Mike Rotunda talk about those past experiences, years, decades, and travels through the ranks is so informative, fun, educational, and so interesting. Hearing about Dusty Rhodes, Wahoo McDaniel, Sgt.Slaughter, and other iconic wrestlers is just incredible. Windham Rotunda(Bray Wyatt) was a chip off the old block. Windham was brilliant, unbelievably talented, yet he always seemed to have a very strong family tie, and a willingness to help other wrestlers and fans. He seemed to love every aspect of professional wrestling. His always seemed to be willing to give time to kids especially. His character the Fiend in my opinion was the best gimmick/character that was done in the wwe in the last 20+ years. Yet the fame, the popularity, the money, and all of the notoriety that went with it, it never changed Windham Rotunda. As I said there were videos that showed Bray Wyatt taking time to stop and visit fans, again especially the kids. Windham Rotunda was a true role model. Talented, hard working, successful, yet humble, caring, considerate, always willing to help when he could, and always willing to give back to the fans. This to me showed that his father, his upbringing, his family was always a huge part of his life. I have more respect to Mike Rotunda, Barry Windham, and Windham Rotunda than I've ever had before. As wrestlers these men sacrificed their bodies, their lives, and their free time to entertain us fans. They made us cheer, scream, yell, boo, and even swear. They used to invoke anger, laughter, joy, anxiety, irritation, frustration, fear, and pretty much every other emotion you could have. Sometimes 270-300 days a year. Traveling from Maine to Arizona, Texas to New York, Florida to Minnesota, Washington to Georgia, and Wisconsin to Nevada. Not to mention the trips to Japan, Great Britain, France, and other places across the 🌎globe🌍. Working through injuries, fatigue, illnesses, and personal issues. Some people call wrestling "fake", or they bash it in other ways. While the endings may be pre-determined, and some of the spots are timed, I challenge anyone to try and spend two weeks, even one week doing what they do. Get thrown off of a 15-20 foot high steel cage, or suplexed onto a bag of thumbtacks. Maybe take a few chair shots to the head, the back, or ?? See how fake it is then. These men and women break their backs sometimes literally, to do what they do. RESPECT!
80s was great growing up in Orlando. I was very lucky my parents had a home in the backyard of Eddie Graham sports complex off Econlockahatchee n SR50. We would sneak in thru the woods behind the horse stalls. Mike n Barry were a great tag team. Never missed a match til they closed it up and built homes there. RIP Bray. Much respect to Mike and thank you for years of entertaining fans. Never forgotten..
