Thank God for both of you. This is so refreshing normal conversation about normal things instead of all the bad news cycle. Let's bring some of the happy news back let's bring some of the normal stuff back. Mike I have been watching you and everything you have done for years and you are such an inspiration to so many people on so many different levels. I'm just a truck driver nobody special but I just want to say thank you and hopefully you'll see this

My brother would watch news all day7 flipping back and forth between Fox and CNN. Became a miserable old man. I don't watch the news any more. I jump online, look at what's there and if it interests me, I'll watch. If not, I won't. Those stories that interest me makes me research more. Great way to learn.

We turned away from all network or major studio products,we mailed the boxes bask to Dish almost 8 years ago. We watch only y/t generated material,we watch guys like you and megan,we watch people who travel,and people who drive big rigs and film the interstates ,couples and families building homes and farmers and ranchers.,many others.We will never return to scripted TV again.

I have a relative who was in journalism. He was a report and would do special reports etc. Anyway, he got out because he was constantly being told what to report. He'd do the investigation, research, interviews etc. write the report then they'd come back with "their own" version and tell him to report that. He was frustrated because he'd spend all that time preparing only to be told to report it a certain way. It was like he wasn't a journalist but just reading a prepared speech with "THEIR" approved narrative. He was very much on the same page with Pres. Trump with his "FAKE NEWS" statements because that is EXACTLY what is going on. ALL major news organizations are in fact pushing the same narrative and are reading from the same play book. He saw it and lived it that's why he got out of it. He is doing something else now and is a lot happier for it.

I'm glad that you are on RU-vid.

Maybe the networks will start giving us the facts and let us form our own opinion on it.

Been in this country for almost 40 years, never had cable, never watch mainstream, just radio, and now streaming, and subscribe to news of my own choice, doing my own research.

We come back to you , and others, because you have the courage of your convictions, and you present it in an honest, forthright way that doesnt assume we the viewer are the great unwashed masses staring transfixed at a screen awaiting pearls of wisdom from in high. The people who listen to what you havecto say are reasonably intelligent people who arent just looking for someone who will say something just for clicks and ad revenue.

She said it, “Confining” … that’s the adjective that I have been looking for on why I stopped watching not just network news, but today’s television shows over a decade ago. It’s Confining. There is no entertainment, no humor, no honesty, no decency, no acknowledgment of someone’s humanity if they disagree with the “mainstream “ philosophy, only Narrative. This is the Narrative, and This is what and how you must Think!

My dad faithfully watches David Muir every night and believes everything he says. Several times I've asked my dad if DM talked about xyz topics that I hear on independent news and he always says "no." 🤔

Any person relocating to a new country always says...whatever you hear on the news is about 2% worth listening to. Which brings me to believe my history teacher in high school was right, believe not what you hear and only half of what you see.

Wonderful post, Mike. What I hear from this conversation is the military lesson "Gunny Highway" (Clint Eastwood) taught to his commander when his screwup cost a soldier's life: "You just don't make the same mistake twice." Anyone who is an honest-hearted Christian knows full-well, that's easier said than done, knowing the enemy of souls has marked you for destruction. Few understand that in order for Satan and his devils to survive, every man must never repent, and thus die in his sins. Enter: Jesus Christ. Between His victory and His Personal Presence (upon our daily invitation) every man has a fighting chance at "life eternal." And like any muscle, virtues must be exercised or else they atrophy.

Has the news always been designed to scare and outrage, or is that relatively new tactic with the drama and the tsk-tsking and the loud voices like we're all deaf, and sighs that is ever so popular these days. I'm trying to remember if Peter Jennings or Walter Kronkite behaved that way. I don't remember them doing it, but then they were professional anchors, not the "journalists" posing as anchors.

Your both great, and your both right. Try to laugh everyday, and we'll all be better for doing so. And I do, by watching what Biden has done for this country!

We like what Megan has to say, Mike, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eyes ! You got that didn’t you, Megan ?! Megan you’re so spot on with your statement that the news loves to scare us ! We have a local TV weather guy that is well known for his hurricane prognostications that are designed to scare the begeezus out of the public when most hurricanes that head our way are of little consequence, so he therefore is called the “Weather Weenie” and everyone knows precisely to whom you’re referring. It’s a worn out tactic and practically everyone has caught on.

Recapping anything that you compete in is always a good idea. We do it sailing. What did we do right in the race or what did we do wrong. Their are lessons in everything.

Megyn Kelly was on my shit several years ago. Now she has come back into my Favorite person list. Mike Rowe is one of the best and cool guys. Megyn, I must say that you appear much more at ease and relaxed and it shows in your work. Oh, and by the way your look very cute as you did always.

I just started watching Mike’s Coffee With Mom, who is the guy down in the right corner?

I know the answer to "Why they stay?" Mike. Trust. They've listed around and found vioces that they can see are acting/speaking in good faith. And over time they build a level of trust in that voice. That it will continue to speak "honestly", even if I disagree with it, it will be an honestly expressed pov. Trust, it's that simple, we trust you and Megyn will speak with honesty about how "it looks to me", we might not always agree with your POV, but we can trust we'll get an honest view.

Most important quote "They [news media] have an agenda that is not consistent with wellbeing" 100%!!!!!! Would prefer the channel stay relatively clean... But enjoying it nonetheless

So enjoyable to listen to you both. but I must disagree with one premise. I have found that on occasion 2 martinis in an evening can work quite well, as long as it's in the comfort of my home! 😉

Oh, my gosh! I once went into an airplane bathroom and was hit with a green fog. I held my breath as long as I could and inhaled into my clothes. When I was exiting, there was a lady waiting to go in. Looking at her I said…I did not do that. Lol Loved this interaction and so glad I have never watched the news or read a paper and I’m over 60. I DO watch you, Mike, and other like minded…but not every day. I want the truth so I can make an informed decision…should I need to. I am a happy person. Love you!!! 💕

Ido agree with that. On the crews I had over the years I expected everyone to own up to mistakes. Mistakes I know about I can fix or show you how to fix. Something I find and no one says anything about pisses me right off. Luckily I have had good people and in 40 plus years only had to fire 1.
