The more fair argument is to say Trout is the better overall player when you add all key things that make a great overall baseball player. Those are hitting (Miggy's better in), baserunning (Trout), stealing (Trout), fielding (Trout) and throwing (Trout). I'm a Tigers fan that was happy that Miggy won MVP but either won could've won the AL MVP, it was just all based on what people thought was more valuable...just hitting or overall play for the team they were on to succeed.
Trout scored 129 runs, hit 30+ HRs, and stole 49 bases. That has never been done before. Trout is the best player in the MLB. Trout made his team a better team than the Tigers. The Angels won more games than any other in the time he was called up. The postseason is irrelevant, because the Tigers only got there because their division is a joke. They would be a 4th place team in the East or West.
Shoulda won MVP in 2012 and 2013 also. I get Miggy got the triple crown and was by far the best hitter in the majors, he was still not as valuable as the 5-tool player Trout was in those two years. Just check out that WAR

I love how some people are using the fact that Detroit making the playoffs justifies Cabrera winning the AL MVP. Trout wasn't called up until the Angels were already off to a 6-14 start. I'm not saying in Trout was there the Angels would have had a better record, but Trout his something like .350 in his first 20 games with them. Either way, both are great players and should be left at that.

And Pujols was batting like .170 at this time last year. Ichiro was hitting under .200 in april 2004. Ended up hitting .372 with 262 hits. please don't say dumb stuff. Him and Harper are once in a generation talents. Maybe better.
What? Cabrera is my favorite player not on my team. He's just not a 5-tool player like Trout. Trout had a higher WAR, scored more runs, stole 49 bases, led the MLB in OPS+, and had gold glove caliber defense. People say that what Cabrera did was special because it hasn't been done in a while, but they fail to see that nobody has ever done what Trout did. Miguel is still just a 2-tool player. Trout's team won more games than Cabrera's. It's not Trout's fault his team plays in a real division.
You PREFER Trouth? They're both fantastic hitters? Trout has 50 points better average and as much power. Oh yea, and he steals bases. Harper is a 3.5 star player and Trout is 5 stars. I seriously can't believe this discussion still goes on.

Not that Miggy isn't one of the greatest hitter of all time, but Trout does in fact hit more line drives. Miggy hits SO many lazy fly balls that go out. Also, Miggy is a horrible 3rd baseman and can barely leg out a double. He's fat!!! You can't be considered a truly great all around baseball player if you're fat and slow. It's a disgrace to the game to even consider players like David Ortiz and Miggy as truly great players. I'm a die hard Red Sox fan since '98, so it's hard for me to say that.

Depends on how you look at it. They're both 5 star players. Mike seems to be faster and can catch better. They both are fantastic hitters, but bryce has a better arm than trout. I like both, but i prefer trout.
ive shaken his hand and stood next to him in the off season ... he reminds me of my kid brother.... no one recognizes him cause hes so small when hes back home.... hes a juicer and the mlb is a bunch of corrupt assholes that have a bunch of guys that suck.... if a 20yr old on roids can show up the league then who really belongs in there hitting atleast.... Trout will go down hard for this roid use soooooner or later
