Nah. Nobody I knew played any of that until Tyson was in it. We'd try to go rent the game, but every copy was always out. So we'd just come together and buy one copy to share amongst the fellas. Nobody played video games all day back then, so we didn't mind sharing. Everybody just wanted to beat Mike.

Yep... The boxer character is called M. Bison in Japan, and Balrog is the name used for the General/Captain character (with the red hat). They switched the names around for the US to avoid being sued. Obviously, M. Bison for the boxer character was influenced by Mike Tyson.

@@1sparkki951 Well they must have changed it because the way I found all that out was playing a Street Fighter arcade machine in Tokyo, Japan, and Vega was still Vega (Spanish fighter), M. Bison was the boxer and Balrog was the General/Captain in red, which is what made me look it up

Tyson really didn’t take a lot of beatings throughout his career... Yeah he lost fights, but Not many where he got beat up badly over a long period of time. And he had great defense which certainly helped.
