He foughr amazing, he did everything said to beat mike but he didnt quite do it, great chin, great fight, would have loved to seen a rematch sadly tucker retired
I believe he was a great fighter in this particular fight, I'm pretty sure he put all his effort for this fight, but what other achievements did he have after this fight?
@@DannyDeLeon he went 12 full rounds with prime lennox lewis 6 years after the fight with tyson and went 12 full rounds with a prime lennox lewis even tho he was 5 years past his prime and 14 lbs overweight
@@curtizjamezjackson111 yup and he even had lewis in trouble in the 7th rd....he gave prime tyson a hard fight but mike won almost every rd!.....but hey its prime tyson...tucker was a very good fighter.
I used to study Tyson fights for hours and I’ll never ever forget Tony TNT Tucker he actually made a fight of a prime Tyson one of the only fights I was able to see Tyson’s technique bcz it went all 12 rounds ...
@@seetsamolapo5600 his heart and his uppercut first time we saw Mike rocked watch the first round he’s stopped Mike in his tracks but I think the footwork chin and experience what helped tony the most he wasn’t intimidated neither that’s the biggest factor call him a runner but he was throwing counters and landing some of them all Night you couldent stop a prime Mike Tyson though
@@seetsamolapo5600 good fight much respect to Both men but if you wanna see peekaboo tactics and tysons on unique dempsey rolls and reflexes this is the one to watch I’ll also recommend watching Tyson v Tillis probably my fav Tyson fight so much of his style showcased
The fact that Tony Tucker is the best fighter that mike faced in the 80's kinda shows mike fought tomato cans. Tucker was a decent fighter but nothing special what so ever, certainly not an all time great, or even close to being one.
@@sasukejaeger3039 He was 34-0 not 40 and look at his actual record and look who he was undefeated agaisnt - Jess Clark 0 wins 16 losses, Al Jones 9 wins 29 losses, Charles Atlas 12 wins 27 losses, james dixon 15 wins 25 losses, his 32nd fight was against Otis Bates 11 wins 12 losses. so yeah he was undefeated against complete bums.. that's not a world class world champion.. In fact calling him decent is very generous when u look at his record.. he lost to everyone with a pulse.
Im 46 i remember watching this back then- great fight both men highly skilled - back then i remember being sooo fustrated with tuckers awkwardness- he fought really well both men took heavy shots great chins - mikes boxing was awsome .
what impressed me the most was the 5'10 tyson out jabbed the 6'5 tucker....talk about awsome speed and timing......props to tucker though, he was a helluva fighter! Very underrated!
Tucker was damn good. He fought for a while out of the Kronk gym I'm Detroit. I think he needed a little more experience before fighting Tyson. Tony had nice hands but always lacked a commitment to his jab, instead preferring to lead with that snappy hook. Solid fight.
Tyson at that point would be big trouble for any great fighters , past or present. Not only its really hard to hit him , but even when you land clean punches, he just shrugged it off. That uppercut at round 2 rocked Tyson for like 2 seconds but everybody had to make a big deal out of it cause that's the closest you'd see Mike getting stunned back then lol
Horse shit! Tony Tucker was no George Forman, Ken Norton, Ali, Klitscho, Lenox Lews. All of these TALL skilled Boxers would have beaten Prime Tyson. Tyson lost every fight he had against Good Heavyweight champions. Tyson gets way too much hype. The fact that Tony Tucker who had a broken hand in the fight was his hardest fight in his "Prime" speaks volumes.
@@Semi-Addict-Gamer tyson fury fought bums . There is no completion nowadays. Mike fought for 20 years how about fury. If fury fought in 80s and 90s he would have been a bear journeyman.
Tony Tucker's movements were reminiscent of Muhammad Ali. Tucker countered strategically by dodging Tyson's powerful punches and leaning against the ropes. He was always careful to keep a proper distance from Tyson. Great Fight 🔥🔥🔥
Tyson was never ever intimidated by the size of his opponent if they appeared bigger than he. In fact it spurred him on. Tyson feared no man other than himself🤎👊🏾
@@LL-bl8hd it does show mike wasnt a scared fighter in his prime because alot of people would be a bit scared to fight a guy 9 inches taller with a 10 INCH reach advantage
@@chrishearfield234 that's bs. Holyfield fought Holmes and Forman and won by only decision. Tyson knocks out Holmes within a few rounds and Forman admittedly didn't want to have anything to do with Tyson. When Tyson was under the guidance of Cus D'Amato and Kevin Rooney, there was no stopping him. Also too, when Holmes was passed his prime, he challenged Lennox Lewis and he refused to fight Holmes because he had a great jab. In my eyes, Holmes was the greatest champion. He was robbed from beating Rocky Marciano's record and fought his way through the greatest era of boxing. Out of 75 fights, he won 69, 44 by KO and only 6 by loss. Won the first 48 fights without a loss.
This should also be motivation to people getting picked on by bigger person I'm real life its not the size I'm 6,5 myself and 250 pounds and tyson knocked people out twice my size love Mike tyson he's a huge inspiration to us all . Mike the goat 🐐
I was in the third row behind the commentators. Whenever Tyson threw punches. Body shots: bang bang bang' then upstairs: Boom! Boom! 💥 They sounded and looked painful! Glad it wasn't me. P.s. loved the editing! "Hilarious"😏👍...
Teacher Tyson was having none of the clowning around...Every time Tucker TRIED to clown around, Tyson hit him so hard Tuckers ancestors felt it in their graves.
You’re delusional. He’s not the most dangerous heavyweight. There is heavyweights that hit way harder He would’ve been the most dangerous cruiserweight or light heavyweight not Heavyweight
Земляк ты делаешь крутые видео, таких легенд.. 👍👍👍Но вот качество видео бы.. Особенно без этого сужение в полном формате 720р .. Это было бы вообще круто
Totally, Tucker and obviously Buster gave him and Lennox the the blueprint on how to beat Iron Mike, before this fight, him and Lewis's team don't want a bar of Mike.
Who here would not love to sit down beside Mike Tyson and have him narrate this fight for us I would pay good money for it man it would be very awesome he should do things like this
You could already see Tyson's decline 1 year removed from Rooney....No jab...less head movement....less body work...walking right in....People said his decline was after prison...It started when Don King took over...His raw ability carried him to the Dougals beating where he was a shell of the version that walked through Spinks...what a waste of talent
what nonsense. tyson in 2002 would of kod LIGHT-heavyweight spinks in 1 round, Spinks stood right in front of him and didn't throw a single punch, big difference between 170lb toothpick spinks who was scared to death, and 6ft4 235lb douglas who was in the best shape of his life.
@@devonalexandra9963 spinks weighed in @ 213 lbs to tysons 218 lbs only a 5lb weight difference, but spinks had height and reach advantage ......So why would you make out that tyson koed a 170lb toothpick? ....Are you ignorant or is it deliberate?
@@devonalexandra9963 Yes I agree he beats Spinks at any point in his career but it doesn't change the fact that technically...Tyson was on another level 1985-86...compared to any other time...He started developing bad habits after Rooney was gone...its clear as day...his fitness..combinations...head movement...defense were eroding to the point that he was beating guys with reputation and raw ability...once someone stood up to him his technical erosion was exposed...He had an unbelievable jab with head movement to get inside pre Spinks....less and less of that up to Douglas loss....disappeared after prison...Both Holyfield fights...no jabs...walked right in...few body punches to the body..and rarely threw 2+ punch combinations...was gassed after 6 rounds...as I said Tyson was a side show after prison...several trainers confirmed it....bad training habits...didnt show up....partying the week before fights...Waste of talent!!!
@@chrishearfield234 No, in this fight Tyson didn't prepared very well because for 2 weeks stopped his train: he took too shots in fists 3 rounds and lacked in combo. Against Ruddock he was in down hill.
What was interesting is that Tucker beat Buster Douglas for the IBF title before this so if Tucker would of lost to Douglas then it would of been Buster here in which Douglas would of been destroyed by this version of Tyson
I always felt like Tucker had nothing to be ashamed of. If it’s not a draw then you either win or lose. He didn’t get the decision but he wasn’t a battered broken defeated man. I wouldn’t even call him the loser, I’d rather call him the non-victor. I think one of the things the judges looked for was aggression moving forward. Frazier did it against everyone including Ali and Frazier got the decision. It doesn’t mean Ali was clearly beaten and humiliated. Ali fought great that night in red. Just the way of the business.
Still astonishing who during one of mikes fights the experts hardly ever mention mikes incredible defence. They are talking about every time he gets hit count how many times tucker misses it really is just as impressive 🤷♂️
That was an amazing fight! Tucker is one tuff guy! Damn. He was having fun out there. Tyson's head movement, slipping, and coming with those power shots is insane. Wouldn't recommend taking shots like that. Not in the doctors prescription, to say the least. 😴😂😂🤣🧨💥
I've watched them all, and this might be close to his closest match. Tucker dealt some devastating blows. There were times the match could've been his. If he'd trained to counter a right hand with a left uppercut, who knows
I agree but if there was a rematch tuckers done, because this was mikes first challenge and to have to ajust like this, id say he did great, rematch mike wins in my opinion
