Was struggling to beat Super Macho Man yesterday. I spent hours and hours on this guy because I could not time my dodges against his special attack. I woke up this morning, gave it another shot...beat him first try, first round without getting hit once lmao. I guess it's always a good thing to take your mind off the game for a bit before going for a retry.
When Macho Man is doing that unpredictable punch, there is a guy on the right part of the crowd wearing sunglasses and he will move his head when Macho Man is about to hit Mac. Search for that man and look. 0:46
I just discovered emulators. Been exploring tutorials of this game I played as a kid back in 80s. Thank you friend for making this enjoyable. Take care
Fierce 90 don’t be a bitch bro everyone gets them. Downloading an emulator is obviously not on the same level as robbery or something that gets you jail time so people are gonna keep on doing it.
Now don’t quote me on this, but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that if he hits you once with the spin punch he keeps going until you fall down.
@@stickymolasses8358 nope. When he does his spin punch after getting up he keeps doing it for certain amount of times 3/10 spin punches or until he hit you
Loved watching this man, I definitely learned new tricks! I used to school this game as a kid but now unfortunately I suck despite the great tutorials. I can't beat Macho let alone Tyson. Thanks!
I look at the guy in the crowd with the glasses (front row, slightly to the right) and he always makes a face right before macho man throws his single clothesline On the terrible twisty hurricane of clotheslines, I can’t dodge quick enough between one swing and the next.
I have discovered that Super Macho Man only gets up three times, if he gets up two times in round 1 and one time in round 2, then when you knock him out the fourth time he won’t get up. Idk though that’s just what I have experienced
This guy ALWAYS kicked my ass. I never could beat him. Also, look on the right for spectator with sunglasses. When he nods his head, that's the cue to dodge the single Spin Punch.
i love how mike tyson's sprites are similar to piston honda great tiger's is similar to von kaiser don flamenco's is similar to glass joe super macho man's is similar to popinski and sandman's is similar to bald bull cause he laughs when you lose and so does bald bull
In my opinion, on the Switch it is more difficult, because of the input delay. I cannot defeat Tyson/Mr. Dream on the switch because the delay causes me to dodge to late.
Yeah it’s one of the only ways I play I use an emulator on my phone but really small button hit boxes and quick dodges are nearly impossible on switch for me
This is a great series, I was able to beat this game in part thanks to your tutorials and Personally, I like to do the normal dodge and counterpunch on his hooks, but to do three/four punches on his uppercuts and delay the last one a bit, which seems to consistently get me a star. I also like to get stars by quickly pressing up, letting go, and hitting his body to get past his guard while he's getting ready to do a spin punch. I believe that after you throw two uppercuts and he starts dodging them you can also become able to hit him with them again if you build up your star count to three. Overall this is my favourite fight in the game, it feels like it offers every good thing from the other good fights in the game and is challenging enough without feeling too cheap.
i know right he always gets me on 5-7 and he never does less than 5 on me and since he doesnt do that i for some reason get hit by his 6 even thought i dodge them in a steady rhythm
In fact that super macho man is about to do his hook, you can hit him using your right jabs, RIGHT jabs not left jabs. Because when super macho man is about to do his hook you can't prevent him using left jabs because he will do it in a distance that your left jabs can not reach. But right jabs can do reach him because he is in a distance where only your right jabs can reach him while his about to do his hook. But if you go deep into super macho man's hook. there is a little time which his in a distance not far from your left jabs so in that case left jabs do reach super macho man but that's only if you do calculate it. Otherwise you can not
I have an idea for switch ones just when he is knocked down create a save point to reset if you get hit by the spin punches also when macho man punches if it’s an uppercut punch him in face wait for about 1 second then get a star punch it does a descent amount of damage when he hooks punch wait and hit in stomach it does more damage then repetitive face punches that’s just how I beat him
The most spins he ever did on me was 14 times I literally thought it was a glitch where he won't stop lol!!! Another tip you missed is to hit him in the stomach by lifting up his guard as well or duck his hook or uppercut then hit his gut
@KoachKrab127 You can also gain stars on him when he pauses right before the spin cycle. You'll hit him once and he'll block once, but every time you hit him you'll get stars. You can get 2-3 stars each pause depending on how long he pauses. You must be ready to dodge as normal for those coming spin punches, though. HERE'S HOW YOU LAND EVERY SINGLE STAR PUNCH: WHEN YOU ARE HITTING SMM WITH THAT COMBINATION WITH FAST PUNCHES AFTER DODGING HIS KO SPIN PUNCHES, HERE IS WHERE YOU SHOULD USE YOUR STAR PUNCH! DO IT AS YOU ARE FAST PUNCHING! HE WILL NOT EVER DODGE IT IF YOU DO IT RIGHT! I love your teaching style.
There’s also another cue to dodge the single spin punch. If you look in the audience behind the ring, there’s a guy wearing sunglasses on the lower right-hand side. He will always lower his glasses just before Macho does the spin punch.
@@jackladd1415 No, sunglasses guy only does the cue for the single spin punch. For the super spin punch, you have to wait until Macho flashes, then start dodging. As long as you have good rhythm, it shouldn't be too bad to dodge. You basically just have to dodge to the rhythm of the "WAH, WAH, WAH" sound Macho's punch makes.
There’s other way to dodge super macho man’s single spin punch is to watch at the audience cue where he wears sunglasses, and when he puts down dodge immediately, watching super macho man twitching will be a bit difficult than that
I did the 1st strat, But I changed it up, When he spinned, I went Dodge, Dodge, Duck, Dodge, and entered the combos, I followed up with punches after uppercuts, and managed to TKO him first round.
Not really. My strategy with Mr. Sandman is to essentially do what other people do, except instead of landing three hooks on him, have Little Mac do one, wait about three seconds, and then do another one. It deals slightly more damage, and allows you to KO or TKO him faster.
This guy doesn't give me trouble but his spin punches get me because i can dodge like the 5 but he always does many on me and for some reason i get hit which is kinda dumb cause i keep the rhythm but still i get hit even thought i don't feel like i pressed late or early and this sucks since i can deal with him but this for some reason ruins it
Been playing too much Super punch out and Wii punch out, first time i fought him i instinctively press down to 'duck' and i keep forgetting that's not a thing here
The thing I really don't understand about this fight is that, sometimes, I'm only able to counterpunch 4 times (instead of 6) after dodging one of his uppercuts. It happens seemingly at random, and it completely throws me off. I end up whiffing the next punch, because I'm expecting to be able to hit him more, and then I just get destroyed. It's the only aspect of the fight I have trouble with now, but I feel like I have no control over it.
Oh, I might know why that happens. If you do a quick dodge (press up right after dodging and your dodge will be shorter) when dodging anything, you will be able to do more counterpunches (more precisely, you will do *faster* counterpunches so you can do more). Since you have to start holding up to hit him in the face, you're probably doing it on accident.
You must be using some kind of cheat system, because your 2nd strategy doesn't work. I did the left dodge, uppercut, right dodge and stomach punch, and he blocks your punch and hits back immediately.
@@justinmoody6721 I beat the whole game on Switch, and for me it felt better than an emulator, since i don't think there is any lag if you play on portable mode
I have fought this guy like 20 times or more already. I have noticed game cheats for him. At the very end of round he started spin punch round with like 2.50 on clock in stead of tome running out it was like the clock. Slowed down and let him continue punching. Another thing I noticed wS I have a star dodge his punch hit him like 5 times dodge another punch hit him 3 more times and go for star punch but he is able to recover out of stuness and throw a upper cut all in about a seconds time . Many times I have him stunned or his engery at the lowest it could before being knocked down and throw a star and he somehow still dodges my punch. Is there awsy to get game out of cheating mode?
If you press the select button before a fight begins, you will lose half your health. Only press the select button between rounds to give yourself more health.
Lmmaooo kinda expected a password after the cancer that was Sandman, guess not. Why does the password system even exist? Should have expected no less lmaoo.
press the dodge button very quickly without holding it down or press the opposite dodge button if that doesnt work I dont have quick dodging down myself but I still wanted to try and help :///////
Idk if u still get on here, but how do you know when to dodge on his single spin punch the quick on, what is the tell that let's you know when to dodge on that one I can dodge the one where he steps back
Well, you know the spin punch is coming when his hands are still, in front of his chest and his legs are shuffling. So get ready when he starts doing that. Then, right before the spin punch, he kind of flashes or "tweaks out." You have to dodge when the flash happens. It takes practice getting used to it. Give it time, and be patient with yourself. You'll get it.
@@ethangasson9965 damn, well it’s the same as NES, i’m playing on the NES classic edition you just move left and up or left and right very quickly, for me i gotta like time it i’m not sure how it is on other versions but because you are on a switch it is much harder to quick dodge due to lag input or something, it’s possible but you’re gonna need to practice it
Oh yes, the twitch that Macho does is difficult to see on my tutorial, because I do not have a computer sophisticated enough to stream at 60 frames per second. My computer can only handle 30 frames per second. When you play against him though, you'll see it.
