@@lunam7249 ok. The whizzer cone acts like a tweeter of sorts..when you use more than 1 they must be really close together. ( theres a formula) its determined by dia and freq..anyway..with 2 big drivers with a whizzer on both the high freqs will cancel..if you install a woofer without a wizzer..youll improve the top end..not reduce it as you might think. It will flatten out your mid peak you discussed..DARE YOU..
@@davidstevens7809 ah. yes. thank you!!👏👏❤️❤️, "intermediate intermodulation interference" , i am familiar with that formula...yes...however intermodulation distortion can be high 1%+ above the mids freq.and induction can limit high freq of whizzers....i love 4"- 12" coax and or whizzers, especially 4 inch whizzer, some super fine sound quality audiophile stuff is out there , but hard to find
I agree with him about the bass ,since I've parted with my krells 650 mono Blocks , the speed and the fast rhythmic Drive and bass slam have never been the same
Between big Jay at Jay's audio garage, Canada's very own Audio Shrink AKA Dave, and Lil Mikey, who despite his small stature has a big heart and even bigger wallet, the audiophile community is in good hands!
Those wheels have to GO!!! Stereo was invented by a Radar Engineer and needs stability to project the waves into the room like 2 light sources from a rear to a projection screen. The demonstration from the early 1930 could produce Soundstage of 3 Pianos playing and each one could be identified. My opinion many music lovers fell in love with Mono and just didn't know.
This is fascinating, can you please speak more to what you're talking about here or refer me to good sources? Particularly interested in what you mean by people accidentally fell in love with mono? Also the 1930s demonstration and what you think people are doing wrong now and what we can do better. Thanks in advance, I'm an audio noob!
@@Silence-and-ViolenceStereo was not an American invention , America spent decades trying to replicate what had been perfected by 1935. Example our first American turntable in the 1950s used 2 needles to create stereo.... Alan Blumlein the British Engineer invented stereo to be life size and the final RIAA standard was basically done over 20+ years after he invented it. This man had already invented a system to locate and confirm a Airplane flying and show the sound signature on a CRT in the 1930s later he did with 60mhz RF radar. Also he invented the Subwoofer and Stereo Speakers along with the binaural microphone . So much Folklore has been created trying to recreate his invention without his original intent . Life Size Soundstage and Image
@thinkIndependent2024 thank you! I will go learn more about Alan Blumlein. What are we missing today? What are all the stereo companies and DIYers doing wrong in your opinion?
@@Silence-and-ViolenceYour assumption leads to disbelief of the FACT in 1935 Stereo could produce an image of 3 Grand Piano 's positioned in the shape of a triangle and each could be heard and identified. With direct of the keys being played. What's your answer to that statement please?
Looks like Carver is the way to go if your after big power on the used market for little dollars. People have also been known to turn to Crown when on a budget for big watts, though the current product line is in fact Class D if im not mistaken : /
@@wronghandshooter Sorry I missed the bottom part of your question. Not sure why it appeared cut off. Yes, there's quite a difference. Kenny does customized parts which you can see on his site. Two things are apparent. One is the balance such as instruments and voices. The soundstage in Kenny's are audible at equal distances rather than some in the background. The other thing is the warmth with Kenny's. If you prefer a brighter sound like the Bob Latino or Will Vincent, to me they have a more modern sound like many tube amps are today. I prefer the old-school sound.
@@drde4010 Daniel, Thanks so much for your reply. I too prefer the warmer sound. Wanted to let you know based on your review I ordered the PAS preamp a couple days ago from Kenny. Can't wait for it to arrive. Will also be ordering a ST70 after I sell my current integrated amp.
A RU-vidr is now the Chuck Norris of audio? 🤣🤣🤣 What exactly are his credentials? Art Dudley was still the best audio reviewer/writer in industry history, he sadly passed away a few years ago. Without Art, I would suggest you try to get Michael Fremer to give them a listen. At least someone who’s been in business for a few years.
@@CarlVanDoren61 Don’t think so. I’m just asking what exactly his credentials are. Has he ever worked for a publication? I’m betting I was buying r2r tapes and vinyl records as well as audio equipment before he was born. Whether you like Michael Fremer or Steve Gutenberg of the late Art Dudley, you probably know who they are, what they like and that they are respected by much of industry for their opinions and knowledge. This page, rather than bringing in a known and respected author/reviewer, brings in a RU-vidr to “review” their product. Do you not see the humor in that?
You don’t need a credential to give audio advice. What are you? So you would just believe a person who wrote for a publication on audio?? There are many publication reviewers that they just write nice stuffs as they are getting paid. Credentials??? 😂 I can only laugh at you. Do you ask for a credential to a friend giving you a life advice?? Haha.
@@MichaelM-to4sghe’s been in the business including manufacturer (still does) for more years than you I’d guess. Prob better to research first rather than cheap shot questions here. Lose your cred man.
@@newdevilman116799% of “ audiophiles” , have no knowledge about: - acoustics - electronics - studio work - audio theory So, they are only consumers without and credibility This guy, visited last audio meeting like Axpona, i think, and HE NEVER HEARD FOR AUDIO NOTE UK!!! He was asking guy stuoid questions like some dumb ass And you think he has credibility…. No he has not…
It's perfectly fine for someone to express his or her opinion regarding the fidelity - or otherwise - of a given audio system. But, without the inclusion of any properly measured data, it is just an unsubstantiated opinion. What an old fashioned way to go about things!
@@firebladeclements Trolling! Where? Not from I! To just dismiss any cogent but antithetical statement as trolling is, in and of itself, trolling. Troll alert.
@@drde4010 Does that include all the measurements made and applied by all the scientists and engineers without which none of the wonderful panopoly of audio equipment - as enjoyed by the likes of you and I - would now exist? I seem to have landed at flat earth central!
@@philipkershaw7918 that’s exactly my point. I leave it to the engineer to do the measurements. I’m not qualified nor trained in that field, and neither are most of the people who pontificate about measurements. I think it’s insulting for audiophiles to make claims about measurements. They are not even trained to understand.
