I see so many people saying she’s verbal and basically accusing mom of lying.. that’s very insensitive and insulting! She is learning and growing in her communication but you can tell she still has a lot of difficulty communicating and she is still not able to have significant conversations. Stop making conclusions based on a few minutes of a video which highlights her development ..And if you have an issue with the content remember you are choosing to watch it! 😊

@@humilitybeforehonorsmk2311yes, if you watch the videos you can see she can still communicate just in many ways. To the ones that are just trying to be mean, yes, they go a little far. To the ones that have experience, and are have a child like this, or can see through many videos how the child acts, you can see things the mother or others don't, it's about having an open mind, and being able to see, sometimes the mother like many mothers over step a little by not letting the child express themselves like doing everything for them, or the child gets away with most things because the mom just looks away, or hey let her do some things on her own, let her understand no she doesn't get her way, what about the other children, most don't see what others can, and when you point it out, offense comes in, although it's out of love, or out of hey try this, or try that, she put it out there for all to respond 🤷🏽‍♀️

the amount of comments I see saying that Mikko isn't non-verabl or atleast not anymore, they took a lot of work to get where they are now. It's insulting that people are saying this and more about this. Sure she is speaking more but Mikko was non-verbal and definitely has a speech delay [if you want to use the proper term for it. Mikko is very expressionate because her parents let her have the space to express herself in any way means nessacry while trying to guide her to use words or signs to be one of the main communications. Let's not forget that the mom herself is Autistic! She doesn't catch onto everything the kid is trying to communicate but she is trying her best. Maybe Mikko was saying "Coco Melon" but I doubt it since that didn't seem the problem, she had a tablet on her lap and probably would've gestured to her mother about it. No Mikko was uncomfortable, wanted to seat where it seemed comfortable and closer to her parents, Aka the front seats Does it mean I am right? No, this is my guess from what I see and hear and sometimes thinsg gets mixed which is normal. sorry for the rant. I am so happy to see Mikko improving so much but being realistic about and sharing that it's not always easy, sharing situations and signs that possibly could help other people. You guys are doing such a great job with Mikko. She is improving so fast and as much as there are negative comments, it shows that you are just doing the job right and have a good connection with your kid! Keep up the good work! ❤

💯 These people are out here with a PhD all of a sudden. Instead of being educated and enjoying the beauty of this family's journey, they are acting like they know everything. But most of them can't even communicate clearly with the verbal children that they have. So quick to become a judge and jury in something they know absolutely nothing about, other than what this wonderful family are teaching us. Super annoying! Your comment is spot on 🙌💖

Huni a lot of us watched Mikko from a baby till now. She was non verbal at first. Yes she speaks now and can express herself much better. We know it comes from Hard work but non verbal is not talking at all or only can say a few words. She’s has a speech delay now. I have a Son that has Severe Autism and he’s non verbal. He can’t tell my husband and I anything he’s 7. I’ve tried everything under the son to get my son to talk. He can say a few numbers and barely saying those correctly and can say a few Alphabets and that’s it. He cant express himself at all. The way my son talk is grabbing us by the hands or grabbing what he wants. He can’t even point. Where I live there’s NO HELP I can get for my son, the help I that tried to help they was having trouble because he’s non verbal.

When she gets older and asks for “ fish” and you aren’t there to translate it will cause frustration and sorrow and her not being understood- try to teach the correct words from square one. It’s important to not have to relearn something the correct way - they have so many challenges communicating. I teach non verbal children and adults in a behavioral school. Frustration can come out in self injurious and aggressive behaviors.

@@jennyquezada9644 Hi Jenny! Sorry, I must have been unclear. I actually wrote “neurotypical” on purpose because neurotypical 18 month olds start to throw tantrums and struggle to communicate with their caregivers until they grow in their verbal skills. I used to use sign language for “finished,” “more,” and “help,” which alleviated *some* frustration. Unfortunately, this goes on much longer and more intensely for children with a neurodivergence.

Hence that's why she wanted to get out of the car seat. You started singing and her meltdown began. You weren't letting her have her way so she began to act out. Next time Precious don't allow her to manipulate you into un buckling her out of the car seat. It helps to teach sign language as well as make a language board and book. I thought you had one, you can put it on the refrigerator and when you can’t understand her, have her choose the picture of what she needs. Then you can fold it up and take it with you when you leave. You can have one page for food, one for songs and videos, one for toys, one for clothes, etc. this helped my son tremendously. ( it’s just laminated pictures with Velcro on the back that sticks to the board/book). It’s hard to explain but if you have email I can send a picture of it. It’s real simple and easy to make. You can decorate it, make it cute and fun(for my son, his had to be plain though). It really does help you to understand what they need and for my son it calmed down his frustrations because he was able to communicate and have his wants and needs fulfilled.

She’s finally expressing more often that she wants to communicate verbally and that can be so tough when you don’t understand what she’s trying to say. One thing you can do is try saying a word or phrase slowly when you realize what she wants. That way she can hear the words more clearly. I don’t know if that helps with her processing disorders but it seemed to work well with other things you did. You’re right, she is developing so quickly right now! ❤❤❤

My niece is autistic and 31 now …so I know the uphill battle is hard…she also had a brain tumor when she was 5 or 6 I can’t remember…she is verbal and very money driven 😂….now she has epilepsy….very very sad ❤

I get it! I couldn't speak for six months and when ppl can't understand you unless you write/text it is beyond frustrating. Mikko can't write or text yet so it a million times more frustrating. She's getting better everyday and she'll be talking up a storm in a few years

Man nothing wrong with her...give her what she asks for and be strict on her I have to be extremely strict on mine and she doesn't talk just turned 3 and the crying stops when I say stop ...so then knowing you are in control has a lot to do with it ..her mother spoon fed her ....did everything for her which I believe lead to this late talking and comprehension because she never had to do anything on her own it was all done for her but I'm deff changing that now ..she doesn't really cry or act up ..somtimes but u have to expect that in her late terrible 2s ..😊 god bless

@@virtuous8685 not rude the problem is we were being to nice we did everything to much for her to where she did t have to do anything and didn't know how to even speaking ...eating everything...her mother is such a clean freak she is concerned about the floor getting food on it to where she was feeding her at 3years old she wouldn't eat ...now I put the food on the tray let her eat it herself info t care if it takes 10 hours she now knows once the food is gone she can go....she improved within a month drastically...still not all the way but I'm shocked by the results...doctors try to tell u everything half of it's a lie ....you will know if you kid has a problem...spinning in circles all day doing weird things ...every kid does it but excessive could be a problem they said I was autistic when I was smaller and I didn't know what that meant ..now I do it's like ...what?? That's just me being bad ...when they say I'm Gona call your dad ....I was like ok no more playing lol it's all about your discipline for a majority of people how your raised...now there are issues people do have and you will know based on how they act or talk most of the time...all I'm saying is do your part and don't rely on what everyone says....the doctor isn't your friend one little sign bam they say your this or that and take this and that...not here!!

She's not nonverbal at all, its actually insulting to the audience you are trying to reach. Some parents can only wish for their child to have the level of communication of what mikko has. Shes 3, which means she has so much time to develop speach and development. Words have power stop putting the words nonverble over her life! And she was clearly saying cocoa melon in the car. I'm not sure why you were pretending to not understand what she was saying. If it was for content, thats sad!

How dare you accuse her of “pretending” not to understand. When you are God and can see inside hearts and minds, you can have the right to accuse.

@gerriebell2128 if I and others could clearly understand mikko saying coco melon, her mother clearly could too. And she is not nonverbal. My friends son is 13 and she prays everyday for anything as close to what mikko can say, so please do not come at me with your righteous self! I said what I said. Mikko is not non verbal and she will continue to strive!

I'm sure you have looked, but my daughter was delayed in her speech. They sent in a referral and it was a year waiting list. I looked up state and county programs that were available and was able to get my daughter on a free program within months. Unfortunately you have to do the work to get assistance and not all doctors know about these programs. Good luck!

My eldest daughter used to call cheerios Uh oh's.... The little sausages in the can in Spanish. We say sarchicas But my middle daughter called it tuna.... She also called her pacifier salsa. My youngest daughter is a thumbsucker like I was with a blanket and she is autistic.... Your channel has helped a lot in having me understand my daughter. And you explaining how Miko reacts differently To each person around her... My youngest daughter is the same way.She screams way more when her father's home than she does with me ... Yes my little one does a lot of Ecolelia... Her name is magdelena... We call her Maggie. She is my maggie magpie....❤❤❤

People need to understand that just because a person vocalizes in a way that sounds like a word or phrase to you, _it doesn't mean they are actually saying that._ And it's a mistake to assume so. Our brains are so good at pattern recognition that we sometimes see patterns where there aren't any or ascribe meaning to something that really isn't intended.

My son just turned five Saturday and he is on the Spectrum and non verbal as well. With no speech at all but he communicates to me by taking me to what he wants if he can't reach it or by bringing it to me and pointing etc.. 90% of the time I understand him but there are times I don't know what's wrong. I agree with others on here that when she put both hands together in the car she was saying Coco melon and I took her hands together like that meaning tablet or phone or possibly a Coco melon book..? But she definitely was saying Coco melon 😊 but you know your baby better than me and I'm new here. I thought I'd share my opinion though. And I think you chose the perfect name for your channel. You are great with her❤️👏🏿 you are so patient. Blessing to your family. Much love!! 🙏🏿
