You can also make the signal received on some WiFi client stronger by making the channel width sharper. For 2.4GHz use only 20MHz, for 5GHz I would not go higher than 80MHz
hi there, thanks for this vid, I just started setting up my hAP AC Lite, reading around the Microtik forums, seems like there's a correlation between the Tx rates in the Tx Power area and the antenna gain. Any thoughts on this? I'm brand new to this and just reading up, thanks!
while you are around, kindly do a video on how to create a mesh mikrotik hotspot network. Meanwhile, I just saw a paypal link in your pinned comment, I'ma throw something little for the help you have been over the years.
hi @TKSja i need ur help setting up my mikrotik groove 52hpn if follow a lot off ur video s but cant fig it out the error im getting are wifi paswoord error
heh, didn't realize you could do this. on the hAP ax lite you can't do this as the advanced wireless settings aren't there and the antenna gain is already at zero, so if you try to zero it out in the GUI it will lock you to 5dBi gain. ha ha. That said, put that baby at manual transmit at 16dB. Transmits much stronger than leaving it on auto.
No, the device will already transmit at the highest power allowed for your country. Decreasing the antenna gain to transmit hotter than regulations allow is illegal.
Hi there, please make a tutorial video about ,how we can create a rule in firewall on microtik that how everyone can access to internet from network to internet but from outside or internet nobody can access to our network ?? Thnx
The thing you are leaving out is that this is illegal. The router already is transmitting at the highest power allowed by your country regulations by default. Lowering the antenna gain to raise power means that your router is now transmitting at illegal power levels for your country.
@@TKSJa This is not the case. The device uses the antenna gain setting to make sure it is not exceeding the limits. If using regulatory domain with a correct antenna gain, it will transmit with legal power amounts. If you reduce the antenna gain, it will transmit at illegally high power.
What you leave out is that this depends on the legislation of wherever you live. For some of it this is legal and it is good to know the options that are there.
And if that doesn‘t work, change the region to us3. Germany doesnt allow anything lower than 3 for 2,4 and 6 for 5ghz 🤦♂️ It‘s illegal, but dfs and wifi that doesn‘t even go 3m far is just ridiculous.
