I visited them on two concerts in January last year (Nagoya and Kobe) and during the concerts both did something like a stand-up-comedy. Unfortunately I understood nothing. On their Online Okyu-jis you also could see them making some nonsense.
@@joki5346 Well, in Japan the whole band is involved in the comedy on stage 😁 In Kobe, as you may remember, it was Akane who was the main host, because it was her hometown. In Nagoya, other members were also running around a lot, like Akane wiping some water on the floor spilt by Miku, I think, and rebuking Miku for being so untidy.
@@VladimirChupin a big thank you for reminding me! Yes, there were some situations that surprised and thrilled me, because the performances differed in some ways from those in Europe. The week in Japan was so overwhelming with impressions that my lame brain couldn't process it all and some of it unfortunately ended up in the back corner of my memory hard drive. This makes me realise how important any kind of documentation is, of which I am making ample use at the moment, because any activities outside feel like they did almost exactly two years ago. We have another heat wave with over 35 degrees, I'm sitting in the cool music room at the laptop and just imagining how our Maid Band would survive a gig in these temperatures with their current clothes.
@@joki5346 Yessss... Saiki's current dress looks like it's almost a winter overcoat. And her high boots-how does she feel inside them? And MISA's shroud, how does she even move inside it? 🤔
There's no way Miku isn't my favorite member of the band, her charisma is very contagious, in addition to her being that person who puts her mood high, you can see how much she struggled to achieve her dreams. Funny that as much as Saiki tries to keep her character cool and serious, she can't stand to be without laughing at Miku's nonsense.
I noticed it too! Can’t keep a straight face with Kobato san’s antics! Loved the part Saiki got amused by Miku’s choice of drink the shochu (middle aged man’s drink)!☺️
I would say , so far that I've seen of the band members outside of performance, they are mostly very quiet and chill. Miku really is a very spunky element all her own. She can sing and play really good guitar along with all that. She really is someone who pushes herself to achieve. It's hard to choose any one over the other based on their skills. But I do have a growing 'crush' on their most introvert member.
LOL I can hear you, my "Crush" is a Band-Maid cruch. I cannot choose any one of them, they are all so sweet. They all shine with their talent on their instruments, vocals, song writing, lyrics writing, performing. Band-Maid are really funny too, po po kuruppo
@0:40 (Miku) Long time no see, PO. (to the restaurant manager) (TV director) Do you remember her? (restaurant manager) Yes, I do remember her because she was cute. She was popular particularly among male customers. @0:53 (Female TV host) Do you have many memories working here? (Miku) Yes, I do. I usually worked at night because I came in after my work at the maid-cafe. (Female TV host) You are such a hard worker! @1:14 (Miku) I used to make Tumire (chicken meatballs) for customers. (Female TV host) That was a valuable experience (for customers)! (Miku) I asked customers, "Shall I make chicken meatballs for you, PO?"...Ah, I didn't use "PO" back then. (They ordered two: offal hotpot and pork hotpot) @1:50 (Saiki) Sugoi, you look like you work here! (Miku) I used to work here, PO! @1:56 (Saiki) Isn't it too big? (Miku) Okay, I will make smaller next. @2:00 (Miku) Delicious, PO! (Female TV host) Is it water? (Miku) Shohchyu, PO! (distilled spirits) I am drinking Kumamoto’s Shiro, PO! (Miku is speaking in Kumamoto dialect) (Saiki) She is drinking it on a rock (not with water). @2:31 (Female TV host) This shape is like vegetable covered by beef? (Saiki) Aren’t they pork? (Miku was not aware of the host’s mistake till Sai-chan pointed out) (Miku) They are pork because the name of this hotpot is 美豚 (beautiful pork) hotpot, PO!
@@GaryHolloway-810 I do not like an offal hotpot much, though it is very popular in Japan, but I will order it if Miku is going to make chicken meatballs for us😜
If I’d be young I would dream drink beer with Saiki in a restaurant in Kumamoto. Alas, I’m not young, not single and I can’t drink beer😀🤣😂😭😉. Well, it’s good like that. I will just enjoy her singing.
Thanks for this👍 🙏. The translations make this a very enjoyable video. Although, I suspect a good many people watched the unsubtitled version with great confusion during their journey down the pigeon hole. I know I did. 🤪.
@0:03 (Miku) We come here, PO! (Male TV host) Why did you choose this place? (Miku) There is a hotpot restaurant where I used to work as a part-time worker when I was in Kumamoto, PO. (Female TV host) I'd like to introduce two members of Band-Maid which, I want all residents of Kumamoto to know, our hometown girl, Miku, belongs to. @0:35 (Female TV host) When was the last time you came here? (Miku) 8,9 years ago, PO.
@2:53 (Female TV host) She is drinking her beer so fast! (Miku) Sugoi, PO! Her drinking speed is! (Male TV host) You have a concert tour in the second half of this year. (Miku) Yes, we do. We have a world tour as well. (Saiki) Our national tour will start in September. (Male TV host) Gradually you have been performing at larger concert halls. (Miku) We will also come to Kumamoto, PO.
Saiki is left handed!? Hell yeah! South paws unite! I guess I never realized casuse she's always holding her mic with her left hand.. Didn't realize it until I saw her eating.. lol
Most people will miss it but Saiki has a regal aura. Unapologetic yet reserved much like she projects her domination of the space around her in a effortless manor. Miku is a relentless and cheerful character she is like a brilliant Kathren wheel spinning and sparkling. The gap between them is like the bubbling hot pot and the cool drinks the perfect balance.
Presenter: Do you remember Miku? Me: I wouldn't forget her... Chad Restaurant Owner: I remember her because she was cute. She was popular particularly among male customers.
OK--------I must admit------ I find Miku even more appealing than the delicious hot-pot !! To hell with weather systems, and financial crises, and militarist idiots................I want only to tune in to Miku !!! My sub-atomic particles collide when I see her..........
I'm HUNGRY!! Miku worked very hard for her success, and she deserves every bit of the attention she now getting in Japan. At one time she was working 3 jobs to pay for her vocal lessons. What I admire the most is that she convinced 4 strangers to wear maid costumes on stage while playing "cool music". She held them together until the success she knew was coming hit. Although I don't think she expected them to be an internationally popular and famous band, she just wanted success in Japan.
@@joki5346 I was referring to the very beginning when she first put the band together. The interview was after they had played in Seattle and she saw the possibilities for the band, so she upped her ambitions for the band.
No, she is not saying it enough, it's is so cute I almost die hearing her saying it. In the Japan in Motion series where Miku travels around Japan showing us her wonderful home land, she visits a dance Sensei. When she entered the room, dressed in traditional Japanese field workers clothes, she said PO in the cutest way possible, my heart melted and I almost blushed because I fell in love with her yet again :-)
