Installing a softer return spring on the TM40 that I swapped onto my DR650. I also changed the main jet from a 150 down to a 145 since I'm still running stock exhaust. Hoping it gets me a little better fuel MPG.

Thanks for making this video. I just bought a DR with a TM40 already installed and my biggest issue with it has been the throttle stiffness. Will be ordering this spring asap

Thanks for the video. I just watched it to see if i needed to pull the carb or not. Im glad you showed all the details. I went ahead and did mine while on the bike by just pulling the throttle wheel and put the spring on the center pin. DRZ400 by the way and it was a new carb so no need for me to clean or grease anything. Its perfect now. Thanks for the video

A really excellent thorough technical series on your DR 650 TM40 pumper carb conversion. If you really wanted to prove you were in the right place with your settings you could make one further adjustment toeach parameter in the same direction to the last change to show it was too far and then come back to perfect. This is a little trickier than it as each parameter can have a little influence on others. Really like the way you think and work. Great video series👌!

Thanks for the breakdown and comparison. I'm going through the same thing and am going to order that spring ASAP. I think I'll just put it in the mid position, as i already tend to drive by throttle more than clutch.

Not sure if it’ll fit the 42. There’s already a link in the video description
