No. I love how they say "the bloodline follows the father" yet it's only the mother's DNA that can be traced back to our original ancestors.

my mom's mom died when my mom was 18, her dad eventually remarried but my mom's sister never respected their step mom. their dad died when i was ~9 and my mom's sister decided that the entire family wasn't allowed to speak to his wife... the only grandmother figure i ever had, and i was a kid so i was confused lmao my aunt was always super toxic and verbally abusive and demeaning to my mom and my mom is a people pleaser and at that point in time didn't know how to set boundaries so for years no one in the family spoke to his wife. me and one of my cousins would always try to get my mom to take us to see his wife but she was always too afraid her sister would find out :( before his wife ended up passing away just recently actually, one of my cousin's passed away, my sister had 2 kids, and a few of my cousins have had some kids as well and she wasn't told that any of them were born or that my other cousin passed. my mom eventually grew some nerves and started talking to his wife again in the middle of all that but i'm not sure what my mom ended up telling her because she was still afraid to step on her sister's toes. so yeah, you never know what's going on or who the "bad guy" really is from the outside looking in

I was crying my eyes out during this episode and i simply couldn't let it go, so i just did so much research and it broke my heart. That this happens un Anerics is beyond me and I cant express how much it disgusts me that black women have to be afraid of giving birth, just because they have a higher risk of dying from childbirth simply because they are black. I apologize in advance, I am truly ignorant about this. I am white, but this is the first time I am hearing that black women have a higher mortality rate during birth. I am wondering why this is? Is it because the care they receive is different? or does it have something to do with genetics i.e. black women are more likely to have complications? I am just curious if anyone knows why there is a difference.
@chelsea_sarfo6388
@chelsea_sarfo6388 3 года назад
@@jenniferreynolds1537 The reason why black women/ black femme presenting individuals have such a high mortality is because of white/non-black doctors not taking our pain seriously. That's rooted in medical racism. With non-black doctors not taking our pain seriously that leads to us dying from easily preventable things. Basic summary: doctors don't care about black women/femme presenting individuals and their babies.

She's probably so desensitized to her mother's misogynistic ramblings that she's learnt to tune them out. Probably why she didn't think much of it when the MIL told her about the condoms because these views have become so normalized in the household. (Think about it, the MIL was in the hospital ranting about a grandson and no one stopped her. Probably because the family has seen that behaviour 1000 times and are too tired to call the MIL out.)

To anyone who’s curious, I just looked through OP’s reddit. The gender of the baby has never been revealed, unfortunately. The last sort of activity OP had on her reddit was a year ago (when she was still pregnant and when she first posted her story). Other than that, OP stated that, unlike with her first child and during her first first pregnancy , she feels no love towards the second baby and has a hard time bonding with them. Understandable, considering the baby’s conception, but it doesn’t sit well with her husband. In one of her last comments, she stated that she and her husband were currently in counseling.

Well it’s because like in my situation we would never see my brothers kids because his baby mama wants money form us to see them. Even tho she get money from social security and not to mention never has to buy the kids clothes because I do. Then she took them away from us and said we can see them if we give them $400 a month. And then after a month of not seeing them we gave her $400 and she took the money and didn’t let us see them and asked for more money. So my parents took her to court for their rights. She even asked for child support from the judge and the judge laughed at her. She got $1600 from social security. So now we have them court ordered 2 days outta the week. And we actually have them more because she’s busy as she says. My brother was killed by a drunk driver. He didn’t abandon them. He was tooken from them. From all of us. And without grandparents rights we would have lost them too.

My dads side was kinda like this. Not going far enough to tamper with BC buttt. My parents had my older brother and my Memeré (dads mum) told them she wants a girl. My parents just brushed it off as okay what ever. My brother and I are 5 years apart. When my parents found out they were pregnant with me my memeré told them. It better be a girl or else we are going to stop sending gifts for your son and the new baby. If it’s a girl we will keep sending gifts for both. Luckily I popped out a girl. But through the years I’ve gotten more gifts and called their princess and when they visit she follows me around. As a kid I was happy I got more gifts but once I turned 14 I felt bad for my brother and i have since spoken up.

I'm shocked that they can press charges for something like this. This law needs to change. She's literally forced someone to go through permanent body changes, both physically and mentally! What about pain and suffering? If they're in a country where they don't have free medical facilities? They then have to pay for all of that too. For either route be it birth or abortion. Not to mention long term costs of raising a child!

If they are married she can not sue for grandparents rights at least in the state of California. The likely hood of her winning them with both parents objection is very low too. If I had a toy and my brother wanted it, they’d snatch it off me and give it to him; they made a bedroom in their home for him and not for me. I no longer speak to them for other reasons and have only seen them once since I was 17- I’m now 25. I showed them pictures of my graduation they missed and they didn’t even care.
