Hi Nightwalker, Could you please tell me about the pole lengths? (i.e. how many sections and specific lengths). I have made my own tent but I cannot replicate the low profile effect of this tent.
Got one and yes great tent - only thing I and others can say against is it's tendency to build up condensation inside a little. I'm looking into replacing the fibre glass poles with aluminium ones to reduce the weight. 😉
Thank you. I've been looking at this tent, but after this review I'll look at other options. This one is too big, too bulky, and too much trouble to set up. Excellent showing on your part, though.
Hi, thanks for posting it! Could you please tell me about the pole lengths? (i.e. how many sections and specific lengths). I have made my own tent but I cannot replicate the low profile effect of this tent. Finally, I presume the head end (not the shoulders) is wider than the foot box, hence the poles crossing closer to the end rather than centrally? Thanks Fenland!
Just bought one of these and will be trying it out next week. At 6'4" most one or two man tents are too small for me. I'm hoping this one will be long enough. I also considered Alps Mountaineering who also do long tents, but are a bit more expensive. I'm thinking of making some aluminium poles to bring the weight down a bit. Fingers crossed it works out, as my options are a bit limited.
Just checked the pathfinder, £299. 00 and it weighs in at 1.7Kg. But its weight might be an indicator of long term durability and quality of the build. For the hardy folk for whom all weather, all seasons camping is the modus operandi, those qualities will likely override any concerns about the weight.
I have put the two long poles in but cannot get it to then go up before the shorter pole is added. What do you secure it to, as it’s not obvious from your video? Driving me mad!
2.7 kilo for a 1 persoon tent... Give me my Eureka Sitfire Solo 1.7 kilo Innertent all black mash, this summer no outertent used, and high enough to sit in! :))
I bought litefighter one, also planning to buy this miltec one to compare the quality and durability. Every piece of gear that I had chance to compare with genuine military surplus simply proven miltec stuff is money waste since You end up buying the cheaper stuff again too early. Army stuff holds years. Cheap versions from brands like mfh, miltec etc.. wears down after few months.
I guess you get what you pay for. LiteFighter 1 or Eureka TCOP are about 2-3 times the price depending on their availability, but they appear to be quite a bit more quality tent for the money.
@@fenlandsurvivor5400 I found out that in the states Easton makes the best poles. Dac is a cheap Korean competitor. I called the guy and he said he needs the measurements so I ordered a tent. I will let you know my findings.
